Oil umbrellas are made from paper soaked in oil to make it waterproof while metal umbrellas have a type of canvas with a metal frame. Oil umbrellas are used for bludgeoning while metal umbrellas are used for piercing. A combat umbrella that has been used for a bludgeoning/piercing attack can do extra damage by opening up, causing +4 Armour Points Extra damage of Bludgeoning/Piercing at once. Metal Umbrellas are treated as have the same length as a Heavy Shield. A Medium Oil Umbrella can hold up to 20 slots of senbon.

Description: Binocular telescopes, or binoculars, (also known as field glasses) are two identical or mirror-symmetrical telescopes mounted side-by-side and aligned to point accurately in the same direction, allowing the viewer to use both eyes (binocular vision) when viewing distant objects. If a Binocular has a zoom of 5 it brings objects 5 times closer through vision. The basic vision before adding a Zooming Vision capability is 5. It's a radio that transmits signals by sending electromagnetic waves with frequencies below those of visible light. They can then be received by other radios in the form of sound or a wide array of signals in order to make sure important information is protected. This device is 4 inches by 1 inch by 2 inches. It has a small LCD screen along with a set of buttons to display locations of tracers. The tracer's location only emits the general area it may be in and does not give any specifics, such as blueprints of housing. The Tracking Device comes in all shapes and colors depending on the user's choice when purchasing. Tracers must first be configured with the Tracking Device. The Tracking Device also has a zooming capability to make tracking easier for the user.

Effect: A token that can bring out a single great oak.

Description: The user must be outdoors to use this token. The user can use a movement to touch it to an unoccupied area on the ground. The token disappears, and in its place a non-Chakra, no Alchemical oak tree springs into existence. While this is pleasing to the eye, it fails to harness the true potential of the mineral. When a cat’s eye of sufficient size is carved into the form of a prowling tiger the alchemical properties locked within the gem is harnessed. When a person holds the Eye of the Tiger, that person gains a +2 Alchemical Bonus bonus to their Movements and +10 to Skill Category 2. In addition, once per day when the command phrase, "Here kittykitty," is spoken, 2 tigers are summoned "D" Class basic (see Creature Index). These tigers have the normal stats for a tiger listed in the Creature Index. The tigers will fight at the command of the person who summoned them and will remain for 12 hours or until they are killed.

Description: There are many legends associated with Qurna, the first Alchemist. The exact truths of these legends have been lost to time, but enough of the truth remains to establish Her supremacy over the Chakra arts. One of the legends tells how Qurna, always looking to expand her chakra power, sought to harness the Alchemical Properties within the mineral emerald. She believed that the stone’s natural Alchemical Properties could be harnessed to increase the strength of a user's Jutsus. Where she learned this information is not known. Most followers of Qurna feel that she was deceived, most likely by Rost, who wanted to see Qurna fail, and that the resulting creation was not her fault. Other followers, and many who worship other Gods, feel that Qurna’s own hubris led to the events that followed. While the exact truth is lost to history, the result has remained. When a piece of emerald is cut so that a pentagonal shape sits within a circle the gem’s natural Alchemical Properties is harnessed. Rather than increasing the Chakra the bearer, the gem instead creates a field of energy that suppresses all Chakra. This field is identical to the Jutsu Anti-Chakra field and has a radius of 10 meters. This field is activated when the user utters the word "folly" in Sylvan The field lasts for 10 minutes or until the command "ascend" is given in Sylvan.

Description: Not all that glitters is gold, and not all minerals that are harnessed are safe. The stone of a thousand cuts is one such mineral that the first person to harness it probably wishes he could undo. Now the stone has found its way into the arsenals of those people who can afford it, with devastating effect. The minerals alchemical properties is harnessed by cutting a piece of silver hematite into a geometric shape of two interlocked tetrahedrons. The shape looks like two four-sided pyramids that have been melded together at their center. Once harnessed, the stone of a thousand cuts is a dangerous weapon. When the stone is thrown and strikes a creature, the creature’s body begins to bleed as if cut by a thousand blades, taking 47 Armour Points of damage. This damage is instantaneous. Using the stone in this manner uses 1 charge. At a command, usually "stone of death" shouted in Terran, when the stone is thrown it deals 47 Armour Points of damage to all creatures within 15 meters of the point of impact. Using the stone in this manner uses 5 charges from the stone. A stone of a thousand cuts has 50 charges at the time it is created. Once all the charges have been used, the stone is destroyed.

Carving the jade into the shape of an eye set over a triangle harnesses the alchemical properties of the gem. 3 times per day, the bearer of a gem of prescience is able to add a +15 insight bonus to their next single TaiJutsu attack, +75 opposed skill check, or +15 to a Save. In addition activating a Gem of Prescience can add a +15 insight bonus to the user's Natural Armour even if they are caught flat-footed. A Gem of Prescience is activated at will and the user must declare that they have activated the Gem of Prescience prior to making any rolls.

To harness its Alchemy, the mineral is carved into a chain at least 2 inches in length. The chain must be carved from a single piece of Lapis Lazuli for the Alchemy to be harnessed. Once harnessed, the user receives a +5 bonus to all Skill Category 3 Skills. In addition, as long as the user has the Gem, they receive a +20 competency bonus to any Academia/Language skill check.

Yntalla’s Tear

Effect: A harnessed Gem capable of allowing a person to transform into something else for a period of time.

Description: Among the faithful of Yntalla, the Goddess of the Moon, there is a legend about the creation of the first shapechangers on Sea Country. The legend tells how the light of the first full moon fell upon a large lake, filling it with silver light. The waters in the lake began to roil and froth and, from the moonbeam, moonstones fell into the water. As each moonstone hit the water it released a silvery drop, which transformed into a different shapechanger. The moonstones fell to the lakebed, each elongated into a teardrop shape. Despite the fervent beliefs of the faithful, scholars and loremasters are unsure if the legend is true or not. However, the Alchemists took hold of the legend and developed Yntalla’s Tear. When a moonstone is carved into a teardrop shape the gems natural alchemical properties is released. For the Alchemy to work, the gemstone must be implanted into a person, usually under the skin on the arm, though followers of Yntalla are known to implant the tear in the middle of their forehead such that the gemstone is visible. To implant the stone a person must make an incision in the proper area and insert the stone. The wound can be bound and healed normally or a Healing Hands can be performed to heal the wound and seal in the stone. When Yntalla’s Tear is implanted, the person can transform into another creature once per day. This transformation is identical to the Transformation Jutsu and lasts for 30 minutes. A person can willingly end the transformation before the end of the duration, but once it has ended the person cannot transform again even if there was time left on the duration.

Description: Obsidian has had many uses as a minor gemstone, tool, and a weapon over the centuries. Some varieties of obsidian have also been harnessed for their natural Alchemical properties, such as the Ghost Tip, and this led many Alchemists and researchers to look at other varieties of obsidian to see if they also had natural Alchemical properties. A lot of the research proved fruitless, until a Midget Alchemist named Gwengolyn Badgersrest made a chance discovery. She had been looking at basic geometric shapes and varieties of obsidian. She was crafting a double pyramidal shape on a piece of mahogany obsidian when her chisel slipped and the perfect double pyramid split into two five-sided pyramids. She was about to toss the mistake when she felt her vitality increase as she picked up the broken pieces. Some more research led to the creation of the Gem of Vitality. A person holding the Gem of Vitality gains a +20 enhancement bonus to Armour Points. In addition, the Gem of Vitality prolongs a person’s natural lifespan by 1 year for every month that the gem is possessed up to a maximum increase of 50% over the normal lifespan for the person’s race.

Effect: A harnessed Gem that improves the wearer's institution and strengthens their willpower.

Description: Jewelers are always after the perfect pearl, a flawless sphere that is the perfection of the oysters toil. While a perfect pearl may fetch a kingly sum, Alchemists and others who harness the natural Alchemical properties from gems and minerals will scoff at such a perfect specimen. For these people, the pearls true luster and Alchemy is only revealed in a seemingly flawed specimen. A pearl that has grown with 2 ovoid hemispheres that resembles a brain in shape allows the natural Alchemical properties to be harnessed. It is rare for a pearl to form naturally into this shape, and a highly specialized profession of culturing pearls to grow into this shape has cropped up. Even with growing cultured pearls, the chance of successfully growing a gem of the wise is slim. It requires a well-crafted seed to be prepared and then placed inside the oyster. After several years the oyster is opened and only then will the culture know if they were successful. The pearls natural Alchemical properties is released in a properly grown pearl. Holding or wearing the pearl improves the wearer’s intuition and strengthens their willpower. The bearer receives a +25 competence bonus to Sense Motive skill checks and a +4 competence bonus to Will saves.

Description: A cleric, the Balancer, named Garrin Gower harnessed yet another of the first of the 5 known Alchemical spheres, the Sphere of Chaos. Again, Gower tried to keep the knowledge of harnessing the sphere of chaos within the church, but at the same time that he was compelled by faith to pass on the knowledge for harnessing the Sphere of Law, he was compelled to pass on the knowledge for harnessing the Sphere of Chaos. Since then, the knowledge to harness the Sphere of Chaos has spread across the globe and they have become a common sight in many cities and temples where they are used to identify chaotic citizens in the hopes of preventing them from causing harm. To harness its Alchemical properties, a flawless rose quartz crystal is cut and polished to a perfect sphere. Once harnessed, the Sphere of Chaos is continuously active. When a Sphere of Chaos is within 10 meter of a creature, Jutsu, or Chakra item with a chaotic aura, the sphere will glow with a faint pink light. This light is the same strength as that of a candle and provides dim illumination out to a range of 2 meters. A Sphere of Chaos does not show the direction to the chaotic aura, or the strength of the chaotic aura it detects. It glows at the same strength regardless of the number of auras detected or the strength of those auras.

Bran immediately saw the usefulness of the Sphere of Lyzar and passed on the knowledge to as many people as he could. Since then, the knowledge to harness the Sphere of Lyzar has spread across the globe and they have become a common sight in many cities where they are used to identify evil citizens. This, however, has led many to preemptively remove or destroy the evil creature even if they have done no wrong, which has caused greater problems than if the creature had been left alone. To harness its Alchemical properties, a flawless rock crystal is cut and polished to a perfect sphere. Once harnessed, a Sphere of Lyzar is continuously active. When a Sphere of Lyzar is within 10 meters of a creature, Jutsu, or Chakra item with an evil aura, the sphere will glow with a faint golden light. This light is the same strength as that of a candle and provides dim illumination out to a range of 2 meters. A Sphere of Lyzar does not show the direction to the evil aura, or the strength of the evil aura it detects. It glows at the same strength regardless of the number of auras detected or the strength of those auras.

A Bang arrow, bolt, or sling stone deals 12 Armour Points of damage, regardless of the source firing the object. All creatures within 2 meters of the target also suffer 1 Armour Point of shrapnel damage. The sensitive nature of Bang makes it a potentially hazardous item for the user. A Bang weapon is destroyed after it is used, whether it hits its target or not.

Casius Trellium Fennel, an Alchemist follower of Jute, and harnesser of the first immortality stone also researched ways to prevent death from occurring as part of his research into immortality. Years before he harnessed the first immortality stone Casius harnessed the Alchemy within zircon as a ward against death. The leaders of the Church hailed Casius and this gave him confidence to continue his search for immortality. When a nearly flawless zircon gem is cut into the shape of a tear about half an inch long and with a slight curl at the apex of the tear the natural Alchemical Properties within the zircon is harnessed. A person who holds Jute’s tear is warded against all forms of death including death Jutsus, Chakra death effects, energy drain, and ability damage effects. The person is also warded against these other death effects with the following restrictions: Dying Condition (the person still falls unconscious but stabilizes and begins to heal until they are no longer Dying), poison (the person still suffers damage, but cannot die from the damage taken), ability loss (the person still loses the points, he just cannot die), and petrification (though it does not prevent the actual turning to stone, a person warded still becomes a statue, but they still live within the stone). While it is still hot, drop it into a container with the Air-infused water. The smalzite will quickly soak up all the Air-infused water. Now roll the piece of smalzite in the true land powder until its surface is completely covered with the true Land. The true Land becomes firmly fixed to the smalzite. It is now ready for use, creating 1 standard-shot of "Pulling Wind". If this product strikes, or is struck by a solid object, it will implode into a powerful, swirling vacuum. Everything within 30 meters of the "Pulling Wind" that weighs 400 pounds or less, and is not firmly held in place, will be forcefully sucked into the vacuum (beings are creatures are considered Knocked Down). Beings that are caught in the pull of the "Pulling Wind" may attempt to hold on to a secured object to keep from being pulled in. Effect: A harnessed Gem that dramatically decreases the temperature, freezing water, and many other things in a large area for a period of 12 hours.

Description: Crystal Ice is harnessed from a diamond with a deep blue color and is the size of a human thumbnail. The natural alchemical properties of the diamond can be harnessed by a skilled Alchemist crafting the diamond into the shape of a one-inch square cube. Once crafted, crystal ice allows the bearer to dramatically lower the temperature in an area extending out in a 100-meter radius from the gem once per day. Once activated, the temperature within the area of effect gradually lowers to well below freezing (-150° F) over a period of 3 rounds. This dramatic drop in temperature lasts for 12 hours. The extreme temperature conditions created by crystal ice cause unprotected characters to suffer 6 Armour Points of damage for each minute of exposure. Any existing weather conditions that were in place when the gem is activated are stacked on top of the extreme cold created by the gem. For example, rain becomes freezing rain or snow; fog becomes freezing fog, etc. If crystal ice is placed in water and activated, the water will become frozen out to the area of effect of the gem. If placed in a large enough body of water (large lake, ocean) the gem will create a hemisphere of ice to a depth of 100 meters and a diameter of 200 meters. Crystal ice that is activated in the presence of a water elemental that is unable to flee before the full effects take place, will become frozen into a solid block of ice. The elemental is unharmed by this transformation and returns to its normal state once the duration of the activation expires. The gem may trap aquatic animals if activated in water. These animals become frozen within the ice created and are unharmed by the process, returning to normal once the duration of the activation expires. Crystal ice has no effect on creatures (other than elementals) with the water sub-type. Fire-based creatures suffer 12 Armour Points of damage for each minute of exposure to the gems effects.
