Amarante walked through the VIllage gates of Konoha and out into the land of Fire. She was still wearing her Konoha Military Police Uniform, fitted with her chief shoulder badges. Weaponry wise she was wearing pretty much the same as always, two sword holsters around her waist for her katana and Wakazashi, the blades having a diamond engravement in their handle design and the Katana having a dragon emblem on the case, her two Sai are just fitted into place on a belt around her waist which is covered by her headband and also wears another sword holster fitted for two larger swords on her back but does not own any swords larger then her Katana. Her giant windmill style shuriken is fixed to her right side at the waist, her black 50 lb pistol style crossbow being fitted on her left in a similar fashion. She wears a sandy coloured gourd on her back, fixed onto her person via a brown cable; her rubber chicken is attached to the same cable as a means of decoration for the otherwise bland piece of equipment. Said gourd is full of water which she hulls around for her jutsu. One cannot forget the Kyuushi blade hanging behind her neck either nor the crystal ball she carries as well as the world map. She also has a butt bag fitted with a kunai, three shuriken, two smoke grenades, a flash pouch, and sixty clips of bolts for her crossbow.

As she left the village gates she began walking the forests of Fire she decided that it would be good to work on her stamina for a while and so she decided that running would be the way to travel for a while at least. She began to run along the roads; flying past the people on the path with the speed of a Jounin despite the fact that she was merely a Genin in rank. She supposed her title of Police Chief made up for that though. After about two hours of this she was feeling rather exhausted physically and decided that the way to travel was by flight but she didn't feel like using her own wings. With this in mind she formed a few hand signs and began to form a large bird out of water she drew from the air around her with her chakra. She then hoped on its back and flew away; her trusty map guiding her way.

Effect: Creates a large bird, larger than the user, of water.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: The bird cannot do damage.
Description: Creates a bird of water. The water acts as normal water, save for it being in the shape of a bird. It has chakra around its wings, enabling it to fly. If it were to give or take a hit, the water would act as normal water, and go to the area of lesser pressure, around the hit. The user can send chakra to whichever body part touches the bird, and use it to ride and fly. Must mantain teh handseal for the technque.
Limit: Must know Suiton no Jutsu (Water Release). Must know Fuuton no Jutsu (Wind Release). Must have a water source

[Tekato Shimura]

Tekato ran down the same roads Amarante had and he knew for sure that she had gone this way because he noticed a peculiar look in the people he passed, like he wasn't the first person they'd seen at shinobi level speeds. He was sure to ask and confirm that they had seen a short blond lightning bolt headed in his direction. Tekato's main attributes were his speed and agility, if anyone could catch up to her it was him. Unfortunately his pack was slowing him down a little, he only hoped she had enough gear on that she might be slowed just enough he'd catch up. He began searching for her on a whim but as the hunt went on he felt it as more and more of a challenge he desired to complete, like a self imposed test.

Tekato wore his KMP uniform, his katana was strapped to his back, his but bag held his secondary items as he chose not to utilize the jacket's containers since he wasnt used to them, his baton dangled from his belt, and finally he had a backpack filled with travel gear.

As he ran he saw in the distance a small figure, a smidgen of yellow atop of what looked to be a similarly colored outfit. The figure was stringing together handseals, he could recognize that without having to be close. He would just barely reach the 30 meter mark from her when she hopped on the water bird he saw her summon. He couldv'e yelled probably but decided to show off a little to the person he knew wouldn't be impressed, but probably amused. He strung together 3 shunshin techniques in a row, traveling the distance in a matter of seconds. The naked eye would only see a few snap shots of tekato as he took each step to use his technique. Tekato's last jump landed him next to a boulder roughly 5 meters from the bird Amarante was about to fly off on. He let himself lean on it as he gained his casual foot. "Thought you could do that yourself?" Tekato smiled as he recognized without doubt his friend, who had changed a little bit herself in her overall appearence. He was referencing her choice to fly on a bird instead of using her own wings.

Amarante wouldn't likely see a huge change in his appearence other than his stature was slightly more developed and muscular and he had grown quite a bit, now standing 7 inches taller than she.

Something looked familiar, Amarante noted as she held her Wakizashi blade to the tall man throat. She'd sensed him coming and when he quickly ducked onto the Water bird she had prepared herself against the threat. "I think I know you..." she trailed off as her mind wandered back to the time she had spent in rain. "Ah that's right Tekato!" she squealed upon remembering him as they (unsuccessfully) tracked a missing ninja all the way back to Rain where she had a very interesting time speaking with the then Amekage. A very rude man. Re-sheathing her sword she happened to notice the new uniform that he wore. "Ah, missed me so much you decided to become my underling; how touching. So what have you been doing with yourself since the last time we saw each other? Training I hope" she jeered as she reformed the hand signs for the liquid bird technique. She had cancelled the jutsu earlier as she needed both hands to maintain it and well... She had that sword to deal with. "Oh and by the way I can fly on my own but hey; I'm lazy."

Just as Tekato was able to get off his sentence Amarante was at his throat. It was like her to be on guard like that, especially when traveling alone, so it didn't surprise him. "heh, glad you remember me." Tekato's eye brow quirked up as she finally realized who he was. Not that he could blame her, it had been a long time. "and yes, since then ive trained and traveled. Traveled more than trained. All that delightful experience and wisdom gained from traveling doesn't pay off in a fight, so training is definitely on my mind." He leaned against the boulder as the conversation continued. "The KMP however, is something to keep me sane more than anything else, since my team disbanded life's been pretty dull." He chuckled as he thought about the reason he actually came all the way out here to find her. "I'm headed to the chuunin exams now, i wanted to make sure i caught you before you left because it might be a while. So yeah, ill let you have this one, i missed you a little." He said with false resentment. "Where are you off to?"

It seemed as though Tekato had trained a little since she had seen him last though she could tell that he wasn't too much stronger though then again she wasn't that much stronger either. She felt as though there was so much room for improvement within her; she was embarrassed that she hadn't yet been able to achieve it. "I'mheaded for well... Here. Wind country so that I can train myself; wind style jutsu is on the agenda here" she informed the boy as she set the water bird down for a landing on the hot Sand. She then jumped off the giant bird and waited for Tekato to do the same before cancelling the jutsu. "You're free to join me but I warn you my training regime is difficult." Amarante couldn't help but smirk. She was planning on drilling herself into the ground. Tekato would be in for a rough time if he decided to stay.

He legitimately considered taking her up on the offer since he usually brushed off wind jutsu to train fire or lightning techniques, but he knew he didn't have time. "I could use some training in wind techniques actually... but i think i'll have to pass up on your offer. The chuunin exams are in a couple days so i actually need to head over to the land of tea. Why not come with me? Your still a genin technically right?" Amarante had always come across as a powerful ninja to him, he wondered why she wasn't a chuunin already. If her answer was that she wasn't ready to enter them, then he might reconsider going at all since she was much stronger than him in the first place.

The Chuunin exams? That thing never really appealed to Amarante. She didn't really care to much about it but hey; she supposed there could be some interesting people to fight there. "An interesting proposition..." she trailed off. A moment later she flipped through a series of hand signs and began to form a second (third) bird made out of water. "There should be a lot of interesting people to fight there; the perfect kind of training so let's go!" she exclaimed as she jumped up on the bird and began to take off (with or without Tekato). "The reason why I'm still a Genin is because I never felt the urge to become a Chuunin. Infact I don't even care if I become one ever but hey; a fight is a fight!"

"Great!" He was a little surprised she wanted to go, but her reasons for going were sound with the Amarante he knew. A good fight. "I'll meet you there, I'm gonna travel by foot." He began off in the direction of the land of tea. "I'll see ya soon!" He called as Amarante flew off on her bird. I look forward to fighting you Amarante... He thought to himself as he ran with a renewed determination in his eyes. He knew there was a chance they wouldn't end up fighting eachother, but just the prospect of testing himself against her was exhilarating. It had been a long time since he was able to test his abilities against another shinobi. He had no way to gauge where he was at in comparison to others.

Just as quickly as she was heading away from it Amarante was heading straight back to the Leaf Village. The prospect of the Chuunin exams had never actually interested her up to this point but somehow Tekato made it sound interesting. Who was she kidding. He didn't make it sound interesting, she was just up for a good fight. Some entertainment would be very much appreciated; she'd been so bored in the Leaf VIllage lately. Tekato was already on his way to Tea without her but Amarante actually had to go back to the Leaf Village first. She had to both clear it with the Hokage and complete two more missions before she could go to the Chuunin exams. She had to hurry as well else she'd be too late and have to wait six (three) months until the next one. She'd hate that, she wanted to fight now!

On her way to the chuunin exams she decided that it would be best to fly and as such she formed hand signs for the water bird technique. She wanted to make sure she didn't tire herself out for the exams so that's why she used the water bird instead of her own wings. She had more chakra than she did physical energy so it made sense. Drawing water from the air she crafted a giant bird of water and hoped on its back. The giant bird flapped its wings and before she knew it she was off. Soaring high in the sky Amarante made quick time as she darted through the area. Her destination was the Land of Tea which wasn't that far (for a ninja anyway). She didn't have to dart through lots of country's at least which was nice as it meant that the chances of running into foreign ninja was limited.
