Once he left the village, Kiyoshi made his way north to a fishing village that he found with the help of his map and compass. For the majority of the time he was riding on Chiyo's back on the way there, the ferret having much more stamina than him naturally. By nightfall they were able to reach the village, and he stayed at a small inn for the night before heading out the next morning. He was able to pay a fisherman to take an alternate route, to sail over towards the Land of Frost rather than his usual place. Once they arrived, he paid his dues and they parted ways.

Kiyoshi went back to the same coastal village that he had landed in when he first arrived in the Land of Frost, and he purchased a ferry ticked to head back West towards his home country. He used his compass baseplate just to make sure they were going the right way of course, as he didn't trust the ones operating the boat completely. He spent most of his time watching the sea as it was a sight he didn't get to view often, silently musing to himself about whether or not he would be given the title of Chunin. Time seemed to fly by quickly, and before he knew it they were docking in on the coast of Oto and he swiftly continued his journey home with his companions.
