Agreeing to NDE Interactive Missions/RP

Okay so I understand our DE rules we have now. Most specifically a B rank character is automatically DE and so is anyone who attacks a B rank character. My problem is... Almost everyone is B rank now! At least a lot are. Meaning most interactions are automatically DE. There is not a lot of room for NDE anymore.

My issue is, I want to set up a NDE Interactive Mission. I want to be able to send my ninja out, and to have other Kage send their ninja out, and not have to have someone lose their character in order for the other team to win. I know I know no one necessarily needs to die depending on the objective of the mission. But it most cases the odds are high people are going to lose their characters. And yes I know I know stay out of the kitchen if you can't handle the heat, but I'm trying to encourage interaction between the villages and build more meaningful and longer lasting relationships between both friendly and rival ninja.

My suggestion goes something like this. Allow people greater control in specifying DE and NDE threads. Especially regarding Interactive Missions. Of course some missions should be DE like Jounin Exams or big Events or Quests for Summons and ect. But leave it up to the discretion of the GMs or creators of said missions. I'm not sure what level of freedom should be granted honestly. That's for the higher-ups to decide. However at the very least:

Let Kage or Ninja involved in Interactive Missions decide whether or not a mission is DE or not. For the sake of greater interaction and greater story line building.

100% Agree with you. We need more interaction between characters, aggressive or otherwise. I think having the ability to make certain missions NDE would encourage more battles and interaction since people wouldn't have to worry about losing a character. With the added benefit of possible future confrontations with actual back story.

I agree as people get stronger they should automatically become DE. I just think we shouldn't get rid of the possibility NDE threads altogether. If a group of people get together and want to battle it out without risking their character, we should have that as an option. Of course only if everyone agrees to it, and in specific types of missions.

How I see it, the B ranked characters automatically gets DE threads is existing because everyone that has been on this site for such a long time that they have a B ranked character can actually play well enough for DE.

So if we removed the element of DE from some of the events or IM's, the more experienced players would never feel the thrill of a real fight, as most of the IM's and events would turn NDE as few wants to loose their characters.

This would just make more people scrap their characters with some pointless death sooner or later instead of doing some heroic fight and loosing the character before he/she lost the muse on the character.

But yea, I do get what you mean, people doesn't want to loose their character, but... they do want action. Without the possibility of death in an event, the event looses some of it's thrill in my opinion.

I think that if the Kages involved all had to agree to make an Interactive Mission NDE that very few would be made NDE. And even if a lot would, whats the problem with that?

Virtually every other thread would be DE. Every training that's not set to private, travel thread, regular rp thread, mission thread, ect.

If some Gms want to make an event thats not Death Enabled why cant they?

I see what you are saying and it's a very valid problem. There is a possibility that overtime more and more Events/IMs would become NDE. But the only reason they would all suddenly become NDE is if they attracted more people, thus making it the more popular choice. Attracting more people is the end goal no? More Rp, so what if it's not DE??

I'm just saying by that logic, the only reason why Events/IMs would all become NDE is because people would like it more.

Like I said, all other threads would be still DE, so there's still plenty of room for death battles for "the more experienced players who would never feel the thrill of a real fight" otherwise.

Maybe S rank and A rank are always DE no matter what? All Parties have to agree? Something along those lines.

My suggestion would be when you create the IM, make a note in it that whoever is the one paying for this mission has left instructions not to kill the opposing team, if they do it results in automatic failure.
