The scene before him was one of great beauty. Jäger had come from the village to a small area that he really enjoyed being around. Usually the small oasis was an area of great peace for him, but today he had come with more physical needs in mind. Having registered as a genin of the village, he was a little worried that any time he had was needed in a mission, he would be unable to do anything. To fix this, he was forcing himself to train, at least a little bit, in order to be able to keep up with the other shinobi in the village. Learning how to use his weapons before anything else seemed like a pretty important task for him. With that he donned his Shield and his chain and had come to the small and private oasis to work on things. There were many trees surrounding him, and the small waterfalls that ended into the oasis around here were vibrant with life, and he found the area very calming. It was unfortunate that he had to practice here, but he felt a little self-conscious of his skills at the moment.
Jäger fingered the the edge of his shield with a disinterested thoughtlessness. His mind was elsewhere as the rains fell, cascading against his body, making him feel quite at home. His orange robs were drenched from the time he had been outside in the rain; but what did a Shark have to worry about when being wet? The chain on his right hand clinked angrily as he switched hands with the tail end. It really was quite cumbersome for him to try and hold it properly with two hands. Each time he wanted to do something with it, he needed to put his shield down and lift his chain with both hands. It was a great length of chain after all, and even though he was a large man with great strength; he did not seem to be able to use it with one hand. Perhaps he should practice that a little bit, as it was rather embarrassing for a man of his stature to have such a weak appearance. The chain clinked again as it settled into a pile in his great hands; with its tail hitting the floor and piling up there too.
The large shark man whipped the length of chain out a bit, releasing the length in his hand and letting it fall in a line on the earth before him. Yanking it slightly, he created a wave through the chain which clinked and protested the awkward movements of the links. As it all clattered on the ground again, Jäger gripped the end of the chain before the link at his wrist, and gripped them tightly. A thin tree was to be his target, as it was a snapping whip strike using the end of the chain. With two hands gripping the chain, he knew he was going to be able to strike the tree and break it with the end of the whip, but he was just getting the motions right so he could do so with his right hand alone. Concentrating on the tree, he whipped up his right hand, using his left hand to maintain stability, as he was whipping a heavy piece of metal that was incredibly flexible. As hard as he could, his hands snapped down and the whip flicked forward.
The chain waved as the movement travelled down the length of the metal until it reached the end, lifting the edge of the chain up into the air at an astronomical speed, which cracked against the bark of the tree with the sound and force of a herd of elephants. The wood of the tree snapped with ease and the top part of the trunk fell softly to the small pool of water at its base. The leaves and branches catching its light frame. The fish around the newly fallen tree scattered as the branches splashed into the water, but the new source of food for the small creatures drew them back quickly, as they began to explore the new addition to the pond, and to taste the leaves and bark. Jäger let go of his right wrist with his left and hung it by his side, he was going to have to do that with his right alone, since his left was going to wield the shield. Spinning his right hand, he drew the chain back around his wrist and hand as he prepared to try it again.
