As Emi had exited his house, he noticed that the sky was unusually upset, the rain was heavy and thunder flashed constantly in the high. It made it hard to actually hear things surrounding him. It was eerie. The people walking around seemed distressed and as it was hard to actually notice them by sound, their presence made the boy all the more nervous. When he reached the square of the town, he saw that most people had left the area in a hurry. The stores still had most of their articles laying around, unprotected and some even broken on the ground. Emi then knew that something was up, so he grabbed his hammer with his right hand, pulled back his hood and swiftly removed the mask so he would be able to see better.
All of the sudden a bright flash blinded him and a mighty thunder hit the main building on the square. His ears were numb and he could barely see anything. What made it worse was that the lights surrounding him began to blink and a lot of the buildings got completely dark. Emi rubbed himself in the eyes, but they remained incapable of seeing through the darkness. A few random curses left his lips without him capable of hearing them himself before he began to evaluate the scenario. Without anyone around capable of answering his questions he just came up with one solution. To get back the lights. Since he had no idea on how the infrastructure was made with the electricity, he just had to hope that it would be in the main building, as it would make most sense to why it had went out.
So Emi dashed to the massive metal building and tried to open up the door. It was locked. On the right of the door there were a pad with a bunch of numbers on it. He hadn't seen those in the town before, but he began to enter a few numbers he had heard from the other ANBU guards, but in vain, it didn't even react. "It's broken as well?" He had to hold back his frustration and think. Could he bypass the pad, he wondered and took up one of his kunais and began to screw up the surrounding metal. Behind the screen there were a motherboard with a bunch of wires and other small components. It was a little difficult for the boy to understand how it worked, so he took up one of his perfected senbons and began to write up a diagram on the metal wall.
Since it was so strong, it actually served quite well as temporary solution to the lack of pen and paper. But where is the problem? From what he understood, it would work just fine. None of the details appeared to be damaged. "On the backside maybe?" he thought and was about to touch the motherboard with his hand before he stopped himself. It might break if I have any statics. The boy started to regret that he hadn't bought any necessary tools for such works before he began to train the craft, but he sighed and took a large portion of his driest part of the robe and carefully grabbed the motherboard as he moved wires to the side using the senbon.
The backside was not very exciting as it was basically just added a few more details to the chart, but it still didn't make much sense. But then he realized what it was.
It is wired to the main electricity
he exclaimed as he slapped his forehead. At first he was about to give up and just smash his way into the building, he remembered that his cryo enhancement in the sword had some kind of power source. So he drew it and placed it upon a garbage tin to get some more stability as he analyzed it. After yet another diagram on the wall he finally found the source. It was quite small, but still manageable to get to. So he pulled the garbage cam with him to the pad and raised it so it would be right next to it. Then Emi used some more of his senbons as conductors between the electricity source and the pad. It was quite hard for him to keep it in positions as the electricity stung him every time the senbons touched the source. So he used an old newspaper that he had found in the garbage to surround the senbons. When he finally had done it, the pad lit up and it started to accept inputs. Emi smiled and once again tried the different codes that he knew. After two attempts, the door clicked and swung open.
Since he would be working more with electricity, he made sure to bring along a few more newspapers from the thrash and began to wrap them around the senbons. Due to the rain the papers had become paper maché, which created a nice and even surface all around the senbons. But he had to keep them out in the open for them to dry for a few minutes before he trusted them to stay together in his pockets. As he began to carefully put them back, he realized that he probably could use some shurikens in the same way, because they could be used to direct current in several different ways. So he brought up a handful of them and put the rest of the papermache on them before he continued to walk in further. The building was still completely dark and dead from any individuals. "I need to find the electricity room" He thought as he started to pick up some office supplies he thought could be useful later on.
