Tucked away in the forests of Hi no Kuni Gardener’s Square is a small village of about a hundred inhabitants. As the name suggests Gardener’s Square is famous for some of the beautiful products grown outside its wooden palisade. It’s main exports are flowers, decorative trees and bushes, and sugar beets. All in all an idyllic place, flourishing due to a favourable climate and good soil. Since human memory the villagers have lived peacefully as they are outside of the normal road traffic. This however lately changed.
Even though the gate was closed and all the guards were accounted for an entire family has been slain in their own houses. According to all accounts it was a carnage. There is however no explanation for the slaughter or any motive. Unable to deal with the mystery the local sheriff asked the local Daimyo for support who could not be bothered and thus in turn delegated the village problem to the Godaime Hokage. Until further notice the village is under martial law. Nobody is allowed in or out until you arrive to handle the situation. Your task is simple, to prevent further death of villagers and to apprehend or kill those responsible for the killings. All Konoha shinobi for the duration of this mission have been given extraordinary authorisation by the Hi no Kuni authorities, which basically means absolute power.
