Effect: When sustaining a wound, rather than succumbing to the pain, the user becomes more alert as the high enhances the users senses.
Special: ---
Drawback: The user still experiences pain as everyone else, including its debilitating effects, making the experience horrible in a way. This technique does not free the user from the detrimental and lethal effects of wounds and pain. If the user for example sustains an S-ranked wound they will be able to block out the pain for certain time, this does however not prevent the user from dying as a result of the wound before this time limit runs out.
Description: The more the user flirts with death, the larger the risk, the larger the reward. When hurt the user goes ‘misty eyed’ as the rush takes control. Some become extremely aggressive, whereas others retract themselves within their mind and become ruthlessly efficient. The rank of the wound, whether sustained or inflicted, determines how much the user gains. Once wounded the he user will be able to block out the pain of a wound up to the rank learned plus the pain of any subsequent wounds. In addition the pain activates the users fighters instinct, raising the awareness of the user. The world becomes a brighter place as everything lights up and colours intensify. The user becomes exceptionally sensitive towards motion, being able to spot a fly a several tens of meters away, gaining a +5 bonus to Observation checks when this jutsu is active per rank of wound sustained. This sharpening of all senses allows the user to more expertly sense when an attack is coming by. Within a range of ten meters per rank learned the user is able to sense if an attack is incoming, preventing the user from being caught unaware. The user is not able to sense incoming attacks from opponents that are higher ranked than the rank of this jutsu learned, plus the rank of wound sustained. When first hurt these effects kick in for the duration of three rounds, After these effects have worn off the user has to wait four turns again before being able to use this effect again.

The mood in the local tavern had been cheerful and festive the short while the duo had been in it, the food was quickly coming out in large batches from the kitchen and there were barrels with all kinds of drinks along the walls. But after a short while, there were a disturbance in the general acting of the guests, making Emi feel a little uneasy. At first he only turned around or tried to listen to any weird acts, but as the others in the room was moving slower and less natural, Emi stood up and tried to take on a fighting stance. But his feet did not move from their spot, making him loose his balance and fall with his upper body forward. That strained the muscles on the back of his leg to the point that some of them almost snapped while his knee got an immense pressure building. The sensation was far from joyful for any normal individual, but for Emi the sensation was far different. It was however too intense even too him, forcing a moan escape him as he tried to force himself back into a normal standing again.

I'm stuck

He exclaimed as he tried to pull up his leg from the floor, which he immediately after regretted as his knees had yet to readjust themselves, making his right kneecap jump out of its socket. Once again he shivered from the intense pain, but as the previous hurt had already send out adrenaline through his body there were less effect from it. But while he adjusted the knee Emi scanned the room quickly and tried to locate possible threats around them. He groaned when the relief of the kneecap jumping back into its proper position, but he had understood the scenario better.

We're surrounded by puppets and there's magnetic seals underneath us.

Despite that he hadn't learned how to use that kind of jutsu himself yet, he knew it from some practices within the ANBU squads and that it was said to be unbreakable. Emi and Zuruel would however have little to no time to actually try that theory out as the floor beneath them suddenly dropped, making it a 10 x 15 feet plateau that fell downwards in an immense speed. The situation was however beyond his ability to analyze as his position was so close to the walls that his face was grinding against the stones. Luckily they were fairly smooth and he was able to avoid most of it from leaning backwards, but large chunks of his face got stuck on stone plates which the wall contained off. All of the bashes made Emi dizzy and nauseous while his body tried to recover and compensate him with more adrenaline to make sure he weren't overwhelmed by the pain.

When the plateau finally reached the stop, it turned 180 degrees around its own axle and threw the travelers down to a stone cell. The magnetic seals were dismissed during that act, but would reappear on the floor as any individual landed upon it. That prevented Emi from bounce off from it, which he definitely would have as he had no longer enough feeling to manage his legs well to properly land. The old elevator had turned into a solid stone roof with a large array of magical seals covering each stone.

Woa, intense.

He said as his face recovered from the hurts he had received before looking around himself to learn the new scenario. The cell was fairly small to be considered a multi-prisoner cell, 30 x 30 feet with the roof less than 10 feet up. The only variation from the stony walls were one side with bars that shimmered similar to adamantite and next to it a simple wooden door with a large unknown seal upon it. Emi found the situation strange, as he had never expected himself to fall into such a trap, especially in a nation he was liked within. But he corrected himself the best he could, making him stand almost in a normal way while taking support from the wall next to him. It was however a mistake from his side to assume it was normal stones, as he only needed to briefly touch the stones for him to be jolted with an immense power. The Hoshigaki couldn't get knocked back as he was stuck on the floor, but all of his hair shoot towards the roof and smoke erupted from his entire body and he coughed violently a few times.

Don't... touch...the..walls..

Some blood followed the air out and Emi had to force himself not to tip over from his body just stopping to work yet again. Despite that he had barely been there for more than a few seconds, he had a really bad feeling of the current trap. To help his body to settle the pain, Emi clenched his hands and tried to tense them up before relaxing a few times. Either it helped or the pain just vanished on its own, but after a short while it wasn't as horrible anymore.

A Venator receives a moral bonus on Sense Motive checks equal to 10 per Class Level. They say that just by looking into the eyes of a Venator they are able to strike fear into their targets. Those who see the eyes of a Venator and is within 30 meters of the user will have to make a save (10 + 2 per Class Level) or become Frightened for 1d4 rounds. If the user knows Discern Lies, they are also able to sense deception (actions that reveal evasions).

“Hey, hey, what are you-” Zuruel had no time to question Emi’s strange motions. Something was amiss. With a twitch of his ears, he scanned all the sounds in the room. No heartbeats. None, aside from the duo’s. “I was so busy reading I missed it… All the civilians really are just puppets.” It was too shameful to admit out loud. Calmly, the Kedoin slid the book into his cloak while still on his chair. “No point getting up then, correct? It appears we are already trapped.” While speaking, he gave Emi a playful wink before continuing to sip his beer. When it came to trouble, there was no better ally than Zuruel. Of course, as long as the sense of danger was interesting enough to warrant his attention.

“Ah-” Unfortunately, before more than a sip or two could be taken, Zuruel noticed the contents of his cup flying high into the air as the ground suddenly caved in. “Well that’s troublesome… Are we going to survive the fall?” Still falling in a ‘sitting’ position, the Kedoin reached into his pocket and fished out a Hiraishin marked Kunai. However, before he could perform any actions, a sharp jolt of pain would fly up his feet as ground suddenly appeared and he landed with a harsh thud. “Kehehe… Who do you think had the balls to target us?” Overall, Zuruel’s demeanour appeared quite confident and playful. He didn’t seem to be taking the situation seriously at all. At least… Until he witnessed Emi being violently electrocuted.

Sighing, Zuruel glanced up at the ceiling with his eyes closed. The action appeared to be more for dramatic effect than anything else. When did he become so weak? So weak that he’d be attacked so openly. In the presence of an ally too no less. Did the attacker have no shame? The thought made his blood boil. He felt something shooting up his body. “How did that go again?” He thought to himself as he struggled to identify the emotion he was feeling. Pondering, he focused on his body’s subtle movements.

Instinctively, his fists curled and tightened into a ball with all his might. Why did he do that… Wasn’t that a preparation before punching someone? He analysed his bodily functions even closer. His system was flooded with adrenaline despite not commanding his body to release any. Excitement? His heart was pounding, so possibly. Yet, it still felt like something else. A sensation that called upon him to destroy and unleash his wrath. “Ah yes… This is anger isn’t it?” He thought to himself as his eyes slowly opened.

As light hit his iris, Zuruel channelled all his feelings of anger and frustration directly into his eyes. At that moment, his eyelids wrinkled, and his eyes flashed menacingly red. These weren’t the eyes of a man anymore. They were the eyes of a fierce beast. A demon. “I didn’t quite get a chance to count your numbers earlier. Regardless. Whether it’s a group of you or just one, you’re all dead.” Gritting his teeth, the Kedoin’s eyes seemed to unleash an aura of blood. Even though he was glancing upwards which made eye contact impossible, Emi would be able to feel the man’s bloodlust from such a close distance.

'Looks like I need to get some light' thought the female as she walked down the road. She was on a short trip to Soseki to meet a daimyo. However, it would not be long until the sun was gone.
Marii knit her brows as she concentrated a small amount of raiton chakra into her right hand. Her flashlight was out of batteries thanks to Murphy's law.

'What is going on!? My raiton chakra will not form a light!' thought the young woman. She decided to amp up the strength without increasing the amount. The Raikage suspected she would need the chakra later on. Little did she knew how right she was.

The female let out a sigh of relief when a small glowing orb formed in her right hand. It lit up the surrounding area like a flashlight. She kept walking for a little while until she saw the suburban area of Soseki.
The brunette made sure to keep the chakra in the lightning orb steady. That would make it less likely to flicker.

After turning a corner, she saw a rather nice-looking bar. 'This looks like a nice place to stay' thought the young woman. She was ten feet away from the door when she saw the electric lock.
'That is weird. Why would someone use an electric lock on a bar door?' observed Marii.

Suddenly, she heard something heavy fall inside the bar. 'This is not good! I better open up that lock somehow!' decided the female.
She bent down to see where the circuits were located. Maybe her raiton chakra could stop the lock from working.

'Aha!' thought the Raikage when she saw some wires at the lower left connected to the door. She sent some raiton chakra to her left hand straight away. The young woman tried to make her chakra flexible without losing its strength. That would make it more able to fool the lock. Seconds later, she lifted up her right hand.

'Steady now...' thought the brunette as she sent the chakra into the wires. One wrong move would make the lock unable to work. She knitted her brows as she tried to maintain the chakra stability.
Suddenly, the female heard a clear 'clack' sound. A huge grin formed at her face as she opened up the door.

When the general pain had submerged and the only thing he felt was a pounding towards his skull, Emi began to use his hands to rub on his forehead. He could feel that some small chunks of it was still growing back and that his flesh was less attached that it normally was, making him a little scared of how his body was actually feeling beyond the numbness. But since he couldn't allow himself to appear weak, Emi made himself blank from any emotions and spat out some additional blood. He felt happy that he wasn't by himself in the cell, that Zuruel was also there next to him. But he wondered how the man had managed to avoid the damages that the Hoshigaki had sustained, it was not as if he had much choice than to take it all.

You don't have any particular enemies in these lands, do you?

The young man asked to see if they could figure out what could possibly be going on. But before anyone in the room would be able to answer, a loud echo traveled throughout the cell.

SILENCE, WE ASK THE QUESTIONS HERE!!

The voice was dark yet sounded mechanical, as if it was coming from an old speaker hidden within the stone. Emi then felt a force hitting his back, merely inches away from his spine. Despite the fact that his entire body was numb the pain became too much for him to just shake off, he began to shiver. The force had come from a metal spike that had come out from a hidden track within the stone wall behind Emi and it was slowly shooting out spikes from within his body. When it was like a star within him, the rod shook a few times, sending further surges of pain into Emi and had him grunt several times, unable to prevent it. But when the pike suddenly got still, he got the protective answer, to activate his divine aura. For some reason however, he was unable to use any of the chakra needed for the technique and the window closed as the pike began to pull him towards the door.

He wasn't sure if Zuruel was even able to see what was going on to him as his eyes flashed too much to see his friend, but he really didn't want him to experience the same fate. The stone floor with the magnetic seal seemed to follow him, allowing him not to be ripped apart. Despite that, his body was getting torn and he felt like the pike was literally pulling the muscles from his bones. In a desperate attempt, Emi tried to stalwart himself and flex all of his muscles in his body while pushing in the opposite direction, in an attempt to break the pike in half. Normally it would be quite easy for him to do, but as broken as his body was getting and the fact that he could barely use it beyond the pain, he only made it worse. A few muscles ripped and the metal star shape got stuck behind the spine, making him feel completely paralyzed.

The door swiftly swung open, had Emi travel through and then shut once more. The new room Emi had arrived to was just a little smaller than the previous one but was connected to a hallway. The walls were covered in all kinds of torture tools while some similar machines were standing all over the room. When Emi had traveled to the middle of the room, he was turned to face the cell in which he saw Zuruel. Through the bars it looked like he was some kind of demon. Then he was pulled up towards the roof with a powerful yank. It was almost impossible for him to breath, but even though he was limited in things he could do, survival was the most important part for him to focus upon.

Zuruel

“I have enemies in… most lands.” It would probably be quicker naming the lands he didn’t have enemies in. “Of course, there are no guarantees this is a trap specifically for me. These could be enemies of yours – or an unfortunate coincidence.” Zuruel scowled at the thought of Lady. She was still out there. The thought sent another jolt of adrenaline into his system and forced his muscles to tighten. Was this his fight or flight reflex again? He shrugged off the thought as he realised his cells were no longer under his control. His body was in a state of fury. A state of anger. It had been a long time since anything had made him feel such raw emotion.

“If it’s a fight you want, it’s a fight you’re getting coward.” Zuruel’s keen senses homed in on the sound of the speaker. A little more focus, and he’d be able to pinpoint the true origin of the sound… “S-Shit.” Too focused, he missed the chance to warn Emi. His ally had been impaled, right under his nose. Another fit of fury resonated within the Kedoin’s body. Gritting his teeth even further, he attempted to pull his feet off the ground to step towards Emi, but nothing happened. He tried again, even resorting to the dark powers of the cursed seal, but it did not answer him. It appeared his movements weren’t the only things sealed away. So were his abilities.

“Emi!” Zuruel called out as his ally was pulled away. Grimacing, Zuruel focused the vengeance and fury he was feeling into his eyes once more. With a thunderous voice, he yelled out in frustration as his eyes brightly lit up in a sinister shade of red. “Face me you cowards!” The more the seal on the ground restrained his feet, the darker the expression possessing his face grew. No longer resembling a human, the Kedoin shot the speaker a dark glare as his earlier scream continued to echo throughout the confines of the structure. There was no doubt that wherever Emi was being taken, he’d still hear the sounds of his companion. Although, as Zuruel would soon learn, that fact would be true not because of his abilities, but because of the will of his captors.

“Patience young one. If you miss him that much, we will let you hear every scream. Every plea for mercy.” A crackle then echoed through the speaker, as if to suggest a connection to another room had just been switched on.

Description: After the user forms the seals, the user slams their hands to the ground and creates a large 1 meter tall crystal. This crystal expands outward aggressively in spindly spires, splitting off from one another at random angles. These spires seek out chakra sources that do not belong to the user, moving and converging on these sources as though to impale them. These spires move at a rate of 10 meters plus 5 per class level.

1. “W-Wait! Don’t!” The voice didn’t come from Marii’s surroundings. Instead, it came from her own head. A foreign voice that didn’t resemble her own thoughts. It was a warning. A warning sent by telepathy. Not that it mattered. By the time the familiar-looking dark-furred canine stepped into Marii’s view, the lock had already hit the ground. “Prepare for a fight. I’ll explain as we battle… Hurry. I can smell them about to rush out!” Lady stood about 5m behind Marii as she begun channelling her Chakra. If Marii could sense or see the Chakra, she’d know that Lady was preparing a huge technique – which suggested that quite a few enemies were about to rush out the tavern.

Focusing on this Chakra, Lady allowed it to flow down into her arms before eventually, reaching her paws. To test that she had imbued it with the correct spectrum of elemental energy, she allowed a few droplets of Chakra to leak out her paws. The moment it reached the outside world and hit the air, the droplets crystallised to form tiny fragments of diamond. Due to their smell size and sheer number, both of Lady’s paws sparkled majestically in the wind. She knew it was ready. Her Chakra was prepped.

“I fell a little behind… Zuruel and Emi were in there, I think. Since my trigger-happy fool of a companion hasn’t made the entire building collapse from explosions yet, I can only assume they were captured.” Lady grew teary eyed. If she had been with the group before, perhaps she could have done more… “No time to worry.” She told herself as she channelled her emotions into her Chakra. Every ounce of negativity and helplessness fuelled her ability and increased the raw intensity of her Crystal Chakra. Now she just had to mould it.

The additional words from the enemy reached him when the pole finally had stopped moving, which allowed him to hear most of the words at the end. That sparked a stronger fire within him, strengthened his will to withstand the unnatural punishment he already had started to receive. His gaze was fully focused upon Zuruel, to avoid drifting around the room and create horrible ideas on what was to come. But the sight was unpleasant as it seemed like his friend was possessed by a raging demon, making his core shake even more. So avoid the physical manifestation of fear that he felt was creeping on, Emi instead closed his eyes and began to seek out the stronger powers that could aid him. It was not to seek assistance in the form of a rescue, but to find the strength to overcome it himself.

Do not fear my injuries Zuruel, you fully know that I have endured more than most.

An echoing laughter replied.

Is that so? I believe we can push you beyond that level as well.


But Emi didn't listen to the void and only searched for the sensation that he had found was the whispers of his goddess. Like usually she whispered more the more struggle had to go through, making him almost able to feel the weight of her meanings as the pole was transmitting a wave of powerful heat. The pain vanished into his connection with Nenyana, but the foul smell of his flesh getting burned had his nose twitch and his belly turned upside down. Nenyana's word were calming and despite that he was unable to understand their meaning, he could sense that there were a lot of sympathy directed his way. It was comforting yet it had the Hoshigaki feel alone in the challenge he had in front of himself.

At the very end of his contact with his goddess he felt how his chakra levels surged and all of his senses grew sharp once more. The pain had grown into a throbbing annoyance and any increase in the sensation only had him filled with joyful feelings. It reminded Emi of inferior levels of pain, which he very often got to experience, but as he could barely understand worse pain, he couldn't understand how his body could react like that. It was as if he was getting so used to pain that the pain chakra received from his goddess covered all the levels, not allowing him normal ways of living. As he came back to his senses he was able to look around again, analyzing his situation and tried to notice if he could escape or get to Zuruel in some fashion. But he felt that it had gotten even harder to remove himself from the star tipped pole as the burned flesh and bone had grown attached to the searing metal.

"W-Wait! Don't!" shouted a voice. The female spun around to see who it was. The voice sounded quite familiar. She let out a sigh of relief when she saw the animal.

"Prepare for a fight. I'll explain as we battle...Hurry. I can smell them about to rush out!" told Lady. Marii nodded as she prepared some chakra for a new jutsu. The half-melted snow laying around the building gave her an idea.

The young woman could see sparkling droplets form around the creature. "I will use the slush around here to make a suiton jutsu. But it will take some time since it's more snow than water" explained the Raikage.
She started to split her chakra into equal bits first. Each puddle would receive an equal amount of chakra.

"I fell a little behind...Zuruel and Emi were in there, I think. Since my trigger-happy fool of a companion hasn't made the entire building collapse from explosions yet, I can only assume they were captured" informed the moon dog. The female felt a sting in her heart when she saw the teary eyes.

"Don't worry Lady-san. I will help Zuruel and Emi get out. They are our allies after all" assured the brunette.
She started to distribute the chakra into the large puddles seconds later. The young woman made sure to amplify the necessary attributes to make it work with ice.

Her ice blue eyes widened when she saw what her chakra had done. All the puddles had more water than ice in them now. "I have the reserves I need for a suiton or suiton-raiton combination now. Can you please tell that to Zuruel-san or Emi-san?" inquired Marii in a firm voice. It was action time.

Zuruel could hear Emi clearly with his enhanced hearing. Still, as if to purely taunt him, the loud speaker replayed Emi’s voice and cries of agony. This caused Zuruel’s jaw to clench even tighter. By this point, his own gums were bleeding from the pressure he was exerting. It was a meaningless action that served no purpose. An action very unlike a logical being such as himself. “Calm down.” He told himself as Emi reassured that he could take the beating. The Kedoin knew meaningless anger was pointless. Anger focused on a specific task, however, had its uses.

Taking in a deep breath, Zuruel allowed his physical state to calm and relax. His mind, however, remained a vortex of anger and frustration. Focusing, he pulled all these negative emotions into his eyes which seemed to be giving off a sensation of weird pressure. He couldn’t tell, but to all observers, his iris were now blood-shot red. “Hey… You.” He spoke into the darkness at seemingly no one. Moments later, another short demonic figure appeared. The Kedoin had caught the sounds of its footsteps scurrying around in the dark distance.

“What the hell is this place.” He asked coldly. He feared his intimidation tactic would have no effect on the larger demon tormenting Emi. This more fragile-looking being though? It didn’t react at first, however, sensing the silence, Zuruel’s eyebrows curled and veins bulged against his eyes. His entire expression seemed to grow even more sinister in that one moment – which caused the demon to take a step back in fear. If he pushed further, perhaps he could get more information. Information that Emi would also be able to hear.

Heavy steps was heard against the stone floor, making it vibrate and echo throughout the hallway as a heavy creation approached. It was clear that it was not organic as it had a strange form and metallic sheen to its surface while several strange tools moved around on its body. Emi knew what it was there to do and even though he despised its master of his cowardice, he didn't expect it to help him in the coming minutes. So he took a few deep breaths in an attempt to calm his body down as the puppet moved in closer and pulled up scissor. It was not any instrument that he had expected, but as it was yanked into his belly, he regretted that he had looked down upon it as it had proven to be most effective. His facial expressions betrayed him as it got twisted as the puppet twisted the scissor before closing its jaw slightly.

The first part appeared to not be appreciated by the puppet, which resulted in it pushing the scissor deeper into Emi's body as he continued, until it finally stopped in his lung. It was highly unpleasant for him and made it yet again hard to breath to the point that he got woozy. The puppet then surprised him by closing up the wound with stitches, which allowed Emi's rapidly healing body to seal it shut. That also made his every move ache like he was continuously getting stabbed by it and had his blood completely fill the pierced lung. When the puppet then stopped moving, Emi had to look past it to see if Zuruel had managed to stop the chakra strings from it. But sadly his friend seemed to be focusing on something else that appeared to be in the cell.

It looks dead

Emi exclaimed to his friend as he forced his arms forward and pushed the puppet away from himself, confirming that it was no longer manipulated by its master. Since he understood that it most likely would the only one that he would be able to get in a very long time, Emi grabbed the hold on a stone pillar and pulled himself away as hard as he possibly could. The initial effect was so lack lustered due to his damaged back muscles that he didn't think he would be able to do anything else but hurt himself more. But after pushing himself further, he managed to tear out the pike from his back despite the spikes going in all the directions. He screamed from the massive pain, which was greater than anything he had ever felt, which even forced forth a stream of tears to run down his cheek. Most of his muscles were completely torn off on his back and still hung on the pike while dripping of large amount of blood. Even though he was free from the pike, he still had forgotten about his legs, which were still stuck to the magnetic seal on the floor. But he didn't care no more, the pain rushed over his entire being and nothing else was present in his mind than the will to escape it.

“Y-You have to be kidding me.” The ‘demon’ in question was a mere puppet. A tool, unable to experience fear. “Get the hell back here!” He commanded with a thunderous voice. His eyes seemed to flare at that moment. To any onlookers, it would be like looking into the gates of hell itself. Such a fierce expression couldn’t help but conjure images of death and destruction in the hearts of even the bravest of men. However, unfortunately, the lifeless wooden puppet was immune to the intimidation technique. He'd have better luck barking orders at a tree.

“Strings?” Zuruel perked up at Emi’s warning. Unfortunately, as quickly as the idea conjured itself in his mind, it faded at the sound of a sharp instrument carving itself deeper into Emi’s flesh. “Curse these ears.” He thought to himself. He could hear the ripping of every muscle. The bursting of every capillary. He wanted it to stop. So much so, that his convictions seemed to birth a new type of aura within the Kedoin. He wouldn’t be aware of its presence at first, but it was definitely there. Personified by a glittering red outline in his iris.

“Emi… What do you mean its dead? Did you stop it?” Zuruel appeared confused. He hadn’t had an opportunity to sever the Chakra strings as requested. What was going on? Confusion seemed to strike at the Kedoin’s mind, the act of which causing his new-found power to waver. The strong pressure built up in his pupils seemed to be fluctuating. He needed a way to stabilise the strange energy trapped within his iris. Unfortunately, he couldn’t think of a way to do so. Not without more anger at least.

Mumbling echos was the only thing Emi heard a few seconds later until his body had finally healed the worst damages to his back. It was extremely uncomfortable and he could barely find a position in which the pain wasn't unnecessarily increased. A few times Emi's mind blanked out and was invigorated, but that was more of a uncommon sensation than anything. But he knew that despite that he had never felt such extreme throbbing pain in such a small amount of time, it was starting to feel more and more like any other pain.

The puppet just suddenly stopped moving

Emi coughed out as he started to make sense of what he realized was Zuruel's voice. The concern that he was able to detect warmed his soul and relieved some of the unease over the situation, they were two experiencing it, he wasn't alone.

I think something has disrupted the jailer.

The thought that the situation was developing as the jailer wanted hit Emi, making him wonder if all the pain he was feeling actually was a waste of time and that he should just allow the enemies to produce their worst on him. But the toxic idea was shaken out of his head as he realized that he wouldn't live long if he didn't disciplined his thoughts.

The technique holding us has one downside, it is chakra based

Emi said to give Zuruel an idea on how to break it, while he himself mustered his energies and made a vacuum with the power in his hand. Then he placed it upon the chakra magnetic mark on the floor and drained away all of its remaining strength. The relief when his feet became free was immense, and he could feel how sore he was in the back of his legs. But he knew that there were no time to feel bad about his position, he stumbled over to the puppet and removed the chakra strings he could find without using his inner eye and then went over to the bars. His breathing was extremely short and quick as his lung was still pierced by the scissor, which also created a hissing sound as he breathed.

I just need... a little more power... to break these bars

Every word was a pain and had his throat get filled with blood, forcing him to spit it out a little now and then. To avoid falling, Emi grasped the bars with his hands and made sure to use them to keep himself up right. As he tried to recover, Emi noticed that his face was wet with tears. Even though that it was very low priority to think about his own pride at such an occasion, he couldn't help but wipe the tears away to make himself feel a little better about the situation. After a short while, Emi realized that his body was recovering far too slow for him to be comfortable with himself again, so he began to think of ways that he could get the bars down in his current state. The pain still clouded his thoughts and he felt like it was constantly a hindrance. But as he grew weary of it, his goddess gave her a short whisper. "You have now experienced pain at its highest level, never forget that others still are subjects to it." At first the sentence didn't make much sense, but when the pleasure normally associated with low level pain rushed over him, he finally was able to take a deep breath.

Upon waking up in a dark room, one of the first things Hamura asked himself was the obvious "how did I get here". Having some trouble remembering how he got to where he was now, it also reached him at a rather late time that his hands had been bound and that his bindings were tethered to the floor. Allowing him roughly two meters in every direction if he felt like moving around in his roughly five by five by five cell, one of his first priorities was escaping his bindings. Whether the walls and doors were really so thick as to not allow any of his senses to escape or if there was really no one else around remained to be seen, though neither his ears nor his nose managed to pick anything up from the other side of the cell.

Feeling that this was as good a chance as any to start making his escape, he started wriggling his arms to see just how much space he had around his wrists, finding that there was very little of it. For whatever the reason might be, those that had incarcerated him had chosen not to make the bonds overly tight. But when he started tugging at it, he could hear something from the point the tether was connected to, as if some kind of battery was charging up to give him a good jolt of electricity. Deciding to stop it straight away, the charging stopped, which was good for him.

Using a method known as nawanuke he had learned not too long ago, he put his thumb against palm, placed his remaining for fingers around it tightly and snapped his wrist down, thus pulling his thumb ligament out with a sharp sting. With that, he managed to slip his hand out of the binding, after which he snapped it back into place. Doing the same with his other hand until both of his hands were free, he popped his other thumb back too before moving into the corner of the room and applying medical chakra to his hands. Figuring someone somewhere might know that something was up now that the tether was no longer connected, he used all the time he had to make sure he was good as new before they did.

Zuruel sighed in relief – the act of which sending a sharp pain shooting into his eyeballs. Grimacing slightly, he cupped his hands over his eyelids for a few moments to provide them with comfort before lowering his appendages to spot blood on his palms. “Something disrupted the jailor?” The Kedoin snickered as he responded to Emi’s theory. The pain seemed to fade at that moment. “What’s the matter, shaking in your boots?” He called out to no one in particular. However, the way he stared upwards suggested he was glancing at the speaker on the wall with his bloodshot eyes and menacing stare.

There was no response. Had Zuruel’s intimidation tactics really worked? He couldn’t find another conclusion. “The seals are Chakra based? How stupid.” Emi’s tip was the captor’s undoing. Although he was too weak to perform handseals, he could still whistle. Emitting a strange melody, Zuruel used the song as a medium to cast his Loki’s Veil technique. Suddenly, all the Chakra in the room was nullified and his legs were freed. All negative emotion seemed to vanish at that moment, leaving the Kedoin with pride and positivity. This seemed to change his eyes. No longer fuelled by rage, they seemed appeared confident. Menacingly confident.

Zuruel’s expression no longer looked like that of a mad beast or cornered animal. Instead, he had the expression of a defiant hero. A man with enough conviction to stand up against any awkward situation. No longer giving off a terrifying aura – instead, the Kedoin gave off an aura that seemed to make him feel unstoppable. It was during this, that the Kedoin finally had a moment of calm to notice movement in the distance. The sound of electricity going off and a joint popping back into place. “Emi… We aren’t alone.” Were the sounds coming from the inside of a jail cell, our outside? His overall demeanour was too distressed to know for sure. “Make yourself known!” He called out.

Also the user's attunement to the world, the energies in it, and familiarity in dealing with evil give the user a Damage Resistance of +10 Armour Points against chakra based attacks and attacks from evil aligned creatures.

Emi tried to analyze the situation he was in, looking on the hallway and then unto the cell Zuruel had gotten free within. There seemed to be more of the cells along the passage, but he couldn't see any keys hanging on the walls that he could use to open up the door for his friend. His hazy mind made it difficult for him to form anything but the most basic ideas, which swiftly made him frustrated. So he stopped what he was doing and thought that he would need to remove his handicap, the scissor that was stuck in his lung. It was a horrid idea to even try it out, but as he hesitated, he went through all the facts he knew and tried to estimate how much worse it would be to actually keep it in there. Then he came to the conclusion that he would actually feel worse within less than an hour than if he just took it out at once.

Please do not interrupt me when I start, it would only worsen it.

The warning was more as a plea to have Zuruel distract possible hostiles while he operated upon himself, but he tried to make it sound less of a big deal. Emi then immediately sat down in a corner to make sure that he had support and his body would move as little as possible during the procedure. Then he immediately measured out where he would need to cut and pushed in the index claw of the gauntlet into his flesh. It was surprisingly easy to do and he barely felt the cut regardless of the severity of its location. But when he then accidentally hit one of his ribs, Emi had to stop as his entire body was shaking through the core. The effect hadn't happened due to pain, but the fact that his body tried to avoid further injuries. So he had to stop himself for a brief moment and think about an effective way to reach through the ribs towards the scissor while not damaging them further.

The hoshigaki asked Zuruel as he reached through the ribs and got a good hold on the tool before yanking it out. Hoping that Zuruel's answer had been yes, Emi threw the scissor through the bars, hoping it would aid the man in escaping the cell.

I will see if I can see into any of the other cells for the one you heard.

Since he knew that people often were good at joining sides that fought against their own enemies, he hoped that there would be many prisoners that could assist them in their escape. Even if they would only be a wall of meat, it could help them to get past some traps, but it would also require for him to judge if breaking them out was worth the effort. The closest cells were either completely empty or had people in them that looked more dead than alive. The were easily disregarded as he could feel that their doors were just as protected as their own had been, making it hard and take time to get through. But after a while, he noticed a cell that was locked, but didn't have anyone within it. It intrigued him a little as he couldn't imagine why someone would feel the need to do that when there was nothing to keep in or nothing to protect. So he analyzed the darkness using his Hoshigaki eyes that normally pierced darkness with ease. But for some reason that didn't help much more than to see some chains.

Anyone in here?

Emi exclaimed through the bars in the door. Because even if he trusted his senses, he knew there were things capable of hiding themselves even to him, through either normal means or by using genjutsu.
