RISE AND SHINE SLEEPY HEAD!
Those were the earsplitting words that burst through Takashi's room at the him he lived at to wake him up. His alarm clock was set up to the public FM station. He made it that way so he wouldn't have to wake up lonely. Takashi slowly rose from his bed; his body ached from the intense endurance training he forced himself to do last night. Takashi figured that if he took a break, someone was catching up, so he continued to work to have the upper hand. Takashi finally rolled out of bed hitting the floor with a thud. [white]"That sure woke me up."[/white] Takashi thought to himself as he got up quickly from that shock of hitting the floor.
Takashi looked out his window, gazing upon his beloved practice area. About 20 yards of fresh grass that he used quite often; everyday to be exact. He didn't own the land because it belonged to the inn. But everyone in the Inn knew it was his; no one could deny that fact, it had Takashi's practice marks all over the place. He stretched quickly after brushing his teeth and swiftly washing his face trying to spend as little time as possible inside instead of out.
In a matter of minutes he was ready to go; dressed and everything. Takashi quickly made his way down the stairs and out the door to his sanctuary. [white]"I wonder what I should tackle today. Ever since Daisuke showed me the most basic form of Muay Thai: Jod Muay, I haven't really touched it since....Hmm...I know exactly what I'll do. I'll practice that cool swinging back-kick I saw him do during a spar. Perfect."[/white] Ah Yes, the swinging back-kick, such a simple move in Mauy Thai that could be used in many dangerous ways. Takashi had attempted to do the move once before but failed terribly.
Takashi stood calmly in the grass ready to practice the spinning back kick. He got into his basic Jod Muay stance; his left foot slightly in front of his right, his feet somewhat spread apart, his right leg at a ninety degree angle with his heel raised. His were arms raised in front of him in a striking position. His shoulders aligned with his chin for proper defense. Correct footing was very important trying to master this new move.
Finally Takashi attempted the "infamous" kick. He put the weight onto his left leg and attempted to kick high in the air to where an opponents jaw would be. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. Takashi quickly lost his balance and fell flat on his stomach. [white]"..Ouch, That sucked, a lot. I CAN do this."[/white] Takashi assured himself as he got up rubbing his belly. He attempted the move again and to no avail got the same result. Determined, yet a bit aggravated, Takashi got up and tried the move again.
However, this attempt had a slight variation. [white]"..This time I'll aim for the rib cage instead...I know it'll work this time...And after I get this down I'm sure striking to the face will be no problem."[/white] Indeed Takashi's assumption came to be true. He tried this spinning back-kick again, same form and style, just different heights. It was a success; a mighty good one at that. He continued to practice the spinning back-kick in the upper-mid level area until he got it branded into his muscle memory.
Now the real goal was to raise the height of his kick to about eight inches higher. Takashi tried the kick again, concentrating a bit more this time. This time around he did much better since he started to worry about doing the move instead of avoiding falling down. He attempted the move this time with a lot of confidence and correct technique instead of second guessing his actions of simple brute force. Takashi's face lit up when he landed the kick this time. He'd always been a fast learner actually. Today would be considered one of his more slow and strategic days.
Satisfied with his new accomplishment, Takashi went back inside the Inn to get some water and stretch for a bit. He planned on taking a quick break for about twenty minutes before going back outside.
