Mare was gazing at the mirror and his registration when a bright light flashed. All the parchments on the mirror would quickly turn to ashes. It seemed that every applicant was deemed worthy. A nearby old man would get up and casually walk towards the contestants. The man didn’t seem very extraordinary. He seemed like a regular old shinobi. The scar across his face did symbolize that he did have battle experience, but that can be expected from any old shinobi. Then something caught Mare’s eye, it was a number on the man’s shirt. It was “2013” and it must be significant for something the boy thought as he memorized the number. Anything could be useful now. He then introduced himself as Kouhei Hitruku; the proctor of these exams. Right when that announcement was made Mare knew there was something more to this man, but what? He listened to every word that came out of his mouth.
Apparently the first part of the exams is a written part, but there is a catch. We will have to find our way to the camps to take the test by taking a specific path. Obviously each path would present their own obstacles and their will be fighting on them. Whether from other contestants, wild animals, or the deadly and deranged traps the Chuunin Exams were known for. Hitruku tried to make it seem easier than it actually was to get the other participants guards down… make them feel at ease, but that wasn’t going to work on him.
Then the man continued to speak. Since there were an odd number of Genin one would have the privilege to go with Hitruku himself on some sort of “short cut”. All they had to do was pick a number 1-13, and the lucky winner would have an easy route to the tents. The thing is… how we could trust Hitruku the boy thought to himself. This could a trap… and in the Chuunins everyone could potentially be your enemy. After hearing a couple responses Mare would just simply say “Four” hoping that this was a smart choice.
Mare would then notice various ninja’s try to make nice with each other. Try to form inter-village alliances, but to him that wasn’t the best idea. One of Ame’s Genin went up to a group of Leaf ninja. Apparently they would be working together, but one of the Leaf ninja had a somewhat shocked look on her face. Whether she was dumbfounded that another village’s ninja would be in a group with her, or she can’t believe how easy it would later be to take out one of the competition. If the leaf nin turn on her, 3 againts 1 is never a good odd, no matter how strong you are. Shiki would then give a nod to Mare, wishing the best of luck to him and he would give a nod back for the same reason. ‘You might need it…’ he thought to himself. He would then notice that another one of Ame’s Genin was teaming up with a Cloud nin. Ninja from every village seemed to group up, but how can you trust someone you don’t know? This perplexed Mare to no end as he stood their waiting for the rest of the event to unfold.
