Release Question and Jutsu linking?

1. Why are we allowed to have so many releases? like as a ninjutus master you can learn 8 giving you the capabilities to do all 5 elements and 3 specialty releases. In the show (i know this is a non canon site) they generally have 1 release they have an affinity for and a secondary one if they are lucky, and then in very rare cases there are 3. Is there a reason we are allowed all/any of them? I kinda feel like it takes away from the individual value of having a certain affinity. In a world where you can only use one or two, groups might makes decisions on who does what role based on talents such as these where if everyone can do so many things it is no longer necessary to have anyone specialized because people who can do all 5 basic elements are a dime a dozen. I mean i know people 'tend' to specialize anyway, but i know most people still dabble in all 5 which just seems kinda OP to me. Well anyway its just a question, its all good if thats what the majority of the people here like.

2. Is it possible to link 2 jutsu together in a combo? Like for example using some kind of water stream jutsu that shoots a stream of water out of ones mouth at an opponent and then another jutsu that sends an electric current down the stream of water to electrocute the enemy.

1. Because that's how we do it. I can't really explain it any more than that, we don't have to be exactly like the canon series.

2. Nope, techniques need to be completely separate. You can't do one jutsu without finishing a previous one unless it specifically says the two can interlock.

1. well i was thinking aside from the series it seems like a pretty good idea but i understand, it would be pretty hard to change that at this point anyway.

2. combination would work though correct? for example one ninja uses the water stream jutsu the ninja next to him uses an electric current.

I've only seen one technique that combines two releases, and that's this one:

Katon Gufuu- (Fire Tornado)
Rank: B
Skill: Ninjutsu
Effect: The user makes the hand signs for the jutsu. Then the user does a fire based jutsu such as Goukakyuu no Jutsu, then the user uses more chakra and makes wind take the fire and the wind then begins to twirl the fire around and round until eventually it is a swirling vortex of doom and terror. The fire tornado will last for as long as the user has the chakra to sustain it.
D Difficulty Class: 2 posts 5 ft
C Difficulty Class: 4 posts 10 ft
B Difficulty Class: 8 posts 20 ft
A Difficulty Class: 16 posts 40 ft
Special: Handseals
Drawback: the user will feel light headed from the chakra loss and when the user does this jutsu after it is a tornado even the user can not control where it goes or what it burns all the user can do is control how big it is or how fast it spins. It may even go towards the user and hit the user instead of its opponent.
Description: This is in the opponent’s eyes (it is a boy). He will see the user making hand signs and the user blowing fire out but he won’t see the hand signs being made from behind the fire then he will see the fire being lifted up and start twirling around how big it gets is chose by the user.
Limit: Must Have Katon: Fire Release must have fuuton: wind release

Aside from that, I don't think it'd be fair to just change the ruling that allows multiple releases at this point. There are so many that have 3, 4, 5, or more releases, that when people make their new characters, they'd be at a disadvantage. Also, as Beltran said, that's just the way it is, haha.

As for your other question, I don't think two users combining their techniques would be any stronger. If somebody got hit by a lightning/water technique, it wouldn't be any more powerful then getting hit by one, and then the other.

it depends on the combination thing i guess? cuz you can imagine if two used the water stream jutsu together.

Jay: in response to the combination thing, yes it probably wouldn't be stronger than one at a time, but strategically it could be beneficial to combine the two, thats all i was getting at.

and about the releases, yeah, i agree it would be difficult, not impossible but probably not worth the effort and probable distaste among members.

Rarilue: Yeah haha and imagine a flame lance jutsu and a water stream used in conjunction, probably not too effective.

what if you learn one handed handsigns? then you would be able to do two at once, couldn't you do a combo then?

Nope, you`re still not allowed to use two jutsu`s at once even if you can do one handed seals.

well i actually was wondering if you could do each jutsu one after another not at the same time. (water stream jutsu then lightning stream to conduct through the water spewing from your mouth)
