It sure had been awhile, more than two months in fact, since Kai had seen his sensei. When he had last seen her she ran off in a hurry, claiming that she had forgotten something. Each and every day Kai would come back to his training alley in order to check if she was there, and every time he would arrive in disappointment. In order for him to train his taijutsu he needed to have a master there to teach him, or at least some form of reading material he could copy from. Today he was going to visit his alley again to see if she would perhaps be there this time. As always, Kai was visiting during the afternoon, the afternoon was when they agreed they would meet each day to train. A couple of months ago Kai would be dreading the heat that would drain his stamina even whilst not training, but because of the improvements he made to his clothing it didn't faze him all that much.
And so the hooded shinobi walked down the alleyway, following the path that only he and his sensei knew about. After all it would be trouble if anybody else knew about it. Sometimes there would be thugs that would hang about these alleyways, looking for new places to 'hang out'. They never managed to find his special spot as of yet, but it was something that would always nag at his mind. Even if he would leave them to their own devices most of the time, Kai was known around the sand village and the hooligans did not particularly like his authority over them. They tried to 'jump' him a few times, each one of course ending in failure. All the raven haired shinobi had to do was place them under his genjutsu or give them a light ass-kicking. Every time he would do so would be a reminder that he was still around, and that if they cause any trouble it will be them who will suffer for it.
It kept them in their place, and kept the sand village peaceful. There wasn't many sand shinobi around these days to do the job so Kaius felt a personal responsibility to keep these things in check. Although it wasn't going to be happening any time soon, it did make him wonder what things will be like when he won't be around. Such thoughts were usually just shrugged off. Even when he was assigned a mission, which was rare, he would never be gone for too long anyway. If gone at all! Most of the time he would receive missions within the sand village walls. Then again he knew that he could always take up a mission outside the walls, but the thought of leaving the place would always keep him at bay. Kai knew that he couldn't keep within the walls forever, he had to leave if told to.
The village was strange, in the near four years he had been a shinobi he had seen three different kazekages come to power. In fact the third had just been announced and crowned with the title recently. And he had only ever got the chance to meet one of those three, despite him working under them. Maybe this was why he never got to go to the chuunin exams... he sulked. The chuunin exams, if only he could get the chance to go to them. He hoped that the next time they were held he could go to them. Kai knew so much genjutsu that he would surely be able to become a chuunin by now. Still, the thought of it did give him motivation for training so it's not all that bad. Speaking of his training, the alley was just around the corner.
Slowly he approached, having no reason to rush. He had doubt that his sensei would show up, why would she this time around? It would be like it usually is, he would walk in to the hidden ten meter clearing only to be disappointed. Then sulk his way back home. His hands in his pockets, he leaned forward whilst walking in to the alley. Then suddenly froze dead in his tracks. Graffiti. It was everywhere, the whole alley absolutely drenched in the stuff. Usually Kai did not mind a bit of graffiti. This graffiti? Oh no this was a specific brand of graffiti, the art of nightmares. It was terrible, and in fact could not even be named as art. It was practically spray paint that was messily sprayed in no particular manner all over the walls. The vandalism of his special training spot made even Kaius, despite his relaxed nature, furious. There was only one group of thugs that he knew in the sand village that couldn't even paint such a simple art form, Kai realized whilst straining his face with anger.
And oh my, aren't they gonna get it.
