When all was said and done, Titania had her assignment. She suppressed a level of dissatisfaction. It was nothing special, but she still intended to perform with excellence. If she proved herself with these small distractions, she would be able to take on more important tasks. They would probably be more dangerous, which was in a way the opposite of her endgame, but if that was the price paid in advance then so be it.

"Ah, thank you sir. And...understood, I'll do my best."

Dogs. Probably not war dogs given their escape antics, so undisciplined and unlikely to follow orders. Bringing them in by force was unlikely given her physical abilities, at least the bigger ones, so how to approach the situation? She needed a plan.

As soon as she had permission to be dismissed, she would leave the area and retrieve her rifle, then head to the barracks to consider her options in peace.

Returning from her mission, Titania dumped her gear at her bunk in the barracks, stripped off her cold weather outfit, hit the showers on full cold for a few minutes, and dressed back in her formal uniform. She sighed as she tied her wild mess of hair back into its usual ponytail. It had been a long day.

Leaving her rifle with the doorgirl, she filtered her way back to the waiting room where she had met Shiki, dossier in hand, ready to give her after-action report, and sat to wait.

Shiki looked over as the gate opened up and the Genin was back. She's fast. Shiki thought to himself. He moved over to the desk now out of his armor. Since he was now out of his armor he looked completely different. His traveling clothes was really fine linen and clothing but worn by travel. He waited for the Genin to approach.

Restraightening the pages of the dossier in their folder against her knees, Titania rose and approached Shiki's desk once it was her turn. He'd taken some time to clean up for himself it seemed. Not surprising. She'd kept her refreshment short to make her report in a timely manner, but it was important to her that she look clean and professional when dealing with her superiors. She couldn't resist the urge to roll her shoulders a bit after placing the folder on Shiki's desk though. They were really stiff from carrying around that giant pack.

She backed away and watched attentively, the very image of a blend of innocent charm and cool professionalism, leveraging both her youth and profession to maintain as positive an appearance as possible. Now, if only she could get that blonde tendril sticking out of the top of her head to stay down.

"Genin Lemegeton, sir. Mission complete."

Shiki grabbed the report and read through it quickly. He nodded. "Good work." He said handing a small envelope loaded with ryo inside of it. "That's going to be the first of many missions hopefully. Tell me. Was there a lesson you learned from this mission, something to take away from what you just did?"

Titania took the envelope and slid it into the inside breast pocked of her jacket. She would confirm the amount later. To do so in front of a ranking officer would be rude, but she also needed to ensure there were no discrepancies that could impact her advancement down the line, whether malicious or benign.

She pondered his query. There was supposed to be a lesson in this? Damn, what was the right answer? Was there even a right answer? But she couldn't say there was nothing for her to learn from it either. Maybe she should mention the client's incompetence? No, that was hardly new information, and might make her look arrogant given her current status. But to say something like how dogs were a...tolerable creature, sometimes, would be too blase. Clearing her throat, she decided to make up something which seemed semi-plausible, and wasn't necessarily incorrect, as her body was still aching from the effects.

"Sir - if I may speak freely - I would say...perhaps I need to more carefully consider the exact nature of a task I set out on, and what might be required to complete it? I have a bad habit of overcomplicating relatively simple matters. Being prepared is never bad, but there is such a thing as being over prepared. Too much equipment can slow you down at a critical moment, and over time the excess weight can weaken you with fatigue and exhaustion for when you most need to be at peak performance. I brought the full assault kit you provided, and in the end only needed the flint and a kunai to start a fire, and my rifle to fend off strays like a club or a broom. I could have used the kunai for that too, but then I would have risked killing something I shouldn't, like one of the targets."

Shiki paused for a moment and took a deep breath while he listened. There was a lot this ninja had learned from their mission. "Always remember that every mission has something to be learned. From picking plants to capturing forts. The day you stop learning from you're missions is the day you stop progressing as a ninja. That's all, you're dismissed unless you want another mission."

Titania shook her head.

"Perhaps tomorrow, sir. I don't believe I would be effective if I attempted a mission in less than peak condition."

As a Genin, she was every bit as much of a tool as her prized rifle. An expendable one, perhaps, but still one that needed to receive proper maintenance in order to continue functioning properly. After her blunder earlier today, pushing herself too hard could cause unseen damage. It was possible to magically recover from nearly any injury, but only if it was known in the first place. Anything she didn't know to have healed could hinder her in the field, and even a slight misstep could get herself or someone else killed unnecessarily, which would be meaningless waste. Basically, she needed to get some rack time.

After waiting an amount of time that was long enough not to be rude but brief enough not to be too awkward, she snapped a salute and left the premises. After reclaiming her weapon, she headed down to her bunk, changed into pyjamas, and turned in for the night.

Shiki would snap a quick salute back to the ninja. As she left he would review the mission report and send it back into the finance area for the payments to be recorded by the village.

Masar strode purposely towards the reception desk of the Kazekage tower. The Kyoudo felt stronger than ever after his long training in that border forest, and finally felt he was ready to take on some missions for his new village. The ninja lay a mission slip on the table. "I'll take this please, might as well start small." He said self consciously, aware that the mission wasn't exactly hard.

Objective: Get these Damn Iguanas out of my sight, I can’t take it anymore. The objective is to remove all of the Iguanas that have infested the shopkeepers’ stores. The desert breeds cruel beasts.
Description: In Sunagakure the heat attracts some undesirable guests. These Iguanas are prime examples of this fact. It is your job to remove these iguanas from the premise of one of the many shops or residencies that reside within the walls of Sunagakure. These bloody creatures aren’t very aggressive, but they are persistent. Get them out of my sight before the shopkeepers throw a fit. This mission may be taken by one person and up to a squad of three with one Chunin/Jonin leader. If you fail to remove all the Iguanas from the site, your Kazekage will have to have a talk with you about your performance, and the money will not be received. Go get em tiger.

Returning from her excursion just inside the borders with the Fire Country to the east, Titania was, while not exactly well rested due to the natural hardships of travel on foot, largely recovered in terms of her abilities, though she was still sore from the beating Krystal had given her.

A report to the Tower of the Kazekage was in order, and so she walked the spiral of the outer battlements. Along the way, she spotted an advert for the Chuunin exams. Apparently it was time for those to start soon. While she had no personal experience with them other than what she'd been taught in the Academy, they bore at least a reputation resemblance to officer candidacy tests from her previous life. Maybe she should consider attendance. It was a bit last-minute, but she already met most of the qualifications, and in theory it should be a moderated, and thus low-risk assessment. Meaning a relatively safe way to climb the social ladder, once step closer to a comfortable position in the rear echelons.

Eventually she would make her way - disarmed - back to the waiting area where she had met the Jonin Commander Shiki Senri before, and received her previous assignment. With exams looming only two weeks out, she supposed she'd better request further assignment while here if she wanted to meet the last few requisites for attendance.

Shiki quickly handed the ninja a parcel with a series of missions on them. "You seem like the scouting type. From this day on you are my emissary. All forward recon is going to be your job in the village. Take this mask and get going."

Titania blinked rapidly, surprised at her sudden accosting and the general frenzy Shiki seemed to be in. But it seemed like she was already gaining his trust, so that was one step closer to her goals, probably?

"Uh, yes sir! I'll get it done ASAP," she confirmed, her arms rather too full to salute. "But uh...is something wrong? Not that I don't appreciate your faith in me, of course! You just seem like you're in a rush about something."

"We can talk after the exams." Shiki said calmly. "I've got a lot on my plate and don't have a lot of time for idle chatter." He said apologetically.

[Masar]

Masar walked back into tower of the Kazekage, waiting quietly while Shiki spoke to the other ninja, before setting the merchant's conformation down on the desk. "Done sir, though I couldn't help noticing the missions you just assigned. Mind if I get in on this?" He asked the pair of them. He needed some more missions to qualify for the upcoming exams, and this seemed to be a simple way to get them.

The single stubborn lock of Titania's blonde hair wavered as a barely perceptible shiver of irritation ran up her spine. Damn interloper, getting in the way of her social advances. She forced herself to smile broadly at the newcomer.

"Sure! I'd love to have you along uh..."

Her eyes went wide for just an instant before resuming the childishly polite and friendly mask. She recognized him. She didn't know his name, but she knew his face. The one being assaulted in the woods in fire. She thought he belonged to a different Village. Bad. This was bad. She couldn't have him running his mouth off here.

"You know what lets get going now. Like, right now. Better not to waste precious time, right? We can talk as we walk, lets go."

Without waiting for any sort of answer, because she didn't want him to say ANYTHING until they were well out of earshot of Shiki, she stowed the parcel and mask in her bag and grabbed the taller boy by the arm, essentially physically trying to drag him away with her. Along the way to leave, her armaments were returned.

Masar felt a surge of satisfaction as the woman accepted him as part of her squad, at least temporarily. Missions were so much easier to complete when one had a team. Although, this new girl was oddly familiar, something just out of reach. Her widened eyes suggested that the girl remembered as well, and was oddly....frightened? Masar bemusedly went along with her, grabbing his check and weapons on the way out. The ninja snapped a quick salute to Shiki as he vanished through the doorway.

[Eijiu Inuzuka]

Eijiu would wonder into the Kazekage tower. He would scratch his head with a puzzled look as this was his first time in the towers. He would knock on the door and slowly enter upon being allowed in. He would stand by the door and slowly walk to the front of the desk. He would then bow as a formality. He was nervous as this was his first important moment as a genin along with his first moment training. Both held large importance to him.
