"I think that should sum it up quite well. I would highly encourage you to train on your herbalist skills since we're a bit low on those. Speaking of which..." started Marii as she turned to look at him. He gave her a nod to appreciate the advice of where he can work on useful skills.
"My mother actually learned me some basic alchemy when I became a Jounin. I managed to take some further lessons when I reached my Sannin rank. It's a bit tricky since I'm not exactly - ahem - willing to go into the darker aspects.
But I find it to be quite compatible with herbs and poisons. Which is something I'm happy to inherit from my Amegakure roots" confessed the young woman.
"My grandparents told me that poisons were quite common in Amegakure during the wars. Kusagakure in particular was really infamous for their poison use. But that's no surprise given the jungle region in Kusa no Kuni.
It's a bit of a shame we don't have that fertile land here. On the other hand - our research center is not too bad" told the Raikage with a smile at her face.
He gave her another nod. 'Yeah, poisons and the much older art of the shinobi. I'll admit it was never something that drew me, but in fairness it is handy. I can think of a few ways how to make that skill set work. In regards to the fertile land, that is something I can help with.'
He poured himself a cool water and took a sip to help clear his taste palette. 'Rain has alot of nutrient-rich soil, and where my little home is sits right next to a water basin, again rich with nutrients. The common denominator is water sources. You could develop an aqueduct system to a small farmland area to add water flows and richer nutrients to the ground - and if it was mixed in with good soil from Ame no Kuni or Hi no Kuni, then that would bolster the fertility.' He said, taking a seat back at the table. 'Ame no Kuni use that system to move the water around so the ground doesn't become sodden and overburdened. It could easily be converted to add moisture and fertility, with a good team.'
It was good to talk about making things better for a change. He had rarely been able to have that as Amekage, because of all the bad history and luck the village has, but he had so many ides for how to make his home stabilize. Here, he could actually apply some of those ideas, without the worries had had before.
'Anyway, I think we can look at that tomorrow. Tonight, lets just relax, and enjoy some alone time. As a real couple.' He couldn't hide the happiness with saying that, his eyes looking right at her. This was quickly becoming the best week of his life in a long time.
