Kininata returned from a run around the village, a little sweat slowly running down his brow. He was in better shape now than when he first arrived, that was for certain, but he needed to keep at it. He was going to have to show everyone in the village and at the wedding that he is fully capable of handling himself and his life withou relying on Marii if things get tough. He headed over to the kitchen, giving a polite nod and cooing noise to Shiori-chan, and grabbed himself a glass of water.
He sat down at the table, taking a quick check of his pulse; it was starting to slow down, and getting back to normal a little faster than the week before. He smiled, taking a sip, and looked over across the room to where a new picture was on display on the counter - it was a picture of Marii and Kininata from a few years ago on their holiday. He was a little more gaunt then, a little too lithe for his own health. He had gained some muscle and tone since then, and was far more confident in himself. And he could see those changes in his beloved as well.
He made his way to the bathroom to shower and clean up. He took a look at the scars on his body; the only ones remaining now were those from the surgery and battle from his old friend, the last marks of when he failed. He still bore those nightmarish thoughts on his soul, to remind him that no matter how far he moves forwards, to never forget what failing to be there for those he cares abouts.
He changed into a set of comfortable linen clothes using a mixture of brown and light blue patterns like streams in the mountains, and went to lay down on the bed to relax from the shower. He was thinking of what he was going to do when the wedding and honeymoon was over.
