Kyodai has been gaining a greater appreciation and awareness of his surroundings by doing the investigation like he had. His ability to stay alert while looking at clues grown rapidly through the direct application of field work. When he was in the hospital he could focus solely on the patient or the corpse depending on the day's duties but when out and about he couldn't do that. No he had to be aware of his surroundings.
Unfortunately he hadn't developed the three sixty vision that some of his clan developed. But his awareness is all the more sharpened because of it. He couldn't rely solely on his sight like some of those others so he learned how to use all of his senses. His hearing sharpened as well as his sense of smell. It wasn't so much that is was better just more sensitive any more because of the constant vigilance he needed.
Kyodai had worked hard for his focus and now he worked hard for a vigilance that was felt more than was a conscious effort. He had a constant awareness of the background commotion around him as he did his research of the evidence he collected. It was a talent born of need and caution more than of natural aptitude. Though he had plenty of that as well, it wasn't what drove his awareness.
Kyodai tested his new sharpening of senses like feeling a new tooth and making sure it fits right. His heighten awareness though did have a small cost, he couldn't turn it off as easily as it turned on. He wasn't as mono focused as he was but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It actually could be a good thing and make him more aware of details that wasn't directly in front of him.
Kyodai was pleased and disturbed by the new feedback from his senses. It was disturbing because it was new and his fellow Hyuuga didn't need it but pleased because he would be all the better for it. It was a interesting set of feelings in him and unusual for his usual cold logic. But people grow and so does he. So he would grow and evolve with the heighten awareness like a proper shinobi.

10/20 Alertness Rank: "C" Skill: Supplementary Effect: User often notices things that others might miss. Kyodai's senses were sharpened day in and day out thanks to his intense training schedule his father made him accomplish. Besides his training schedule though he was always having to pay attention to details while working in the hospital. He wasn't some lab tech who could ignore the world while he work. No He was a triage doctor and a Medical Shinobi who reads the signs around him to diagnose the situation.
Kyodai trained his senses and his skills on a daily basis because of what was needed in his chosen profession and his father's insistence. His father had been worried that he would be killed like his mother before him. And this was the reasoning for his father to daily put him through a rough physical regiment. This regiment help him hone his sense as he went through various obstacles as well as trained in martial artists ways.
Kyodai used those honed skills in and out of the crisis center and now circumstances were giving him the experience needed to use those skills well. How was this would be the question some would ask. But the answer was far from simple but a limited explanation could be simple. The situation of being both partnered to a Princess of the Hyuuga, a Uchiha, and a Shady illusionist meant that he had to constantly use his senses or get hurt.
The illusionist liked using one's mind against themselves and only by the fine clues he could discern was he able to see through such deceptions. As for the Uchiha and the Princess both were fairly straight forward so far but the proximity of the two meant that their team was a target for anyone who wished the leaf harm. Their team consisted of two legendary bloodlines that many a person would want for study.
More so Tamako was of the main house which meant secrets that others wanted. Kyodai had to be alert just to protect himself much less his clan's secrets. And if things went utterly pear shape he was a dead man. Dishonor to his clan would kill him as easily as another's blade. He had to be very careful which made his senses all the sharper. And that sharpness made him all the more aware of his surroundings..

Hakkeshou: Kaiten (Hands of the Eight Divinations: Divination Whirl) Rank: C Skill: Taijutsu Effect: The user releases chakra from their tenketsu while spinning like a top, creating a dome of spinning chakra that will repel Ninjutsu and Taijutsu. Special: -- Drawback: -- Description: The user spins like a top, secreting chakra from all of their tenketsus at once. A blue dome of whirling chakra forms around them, spinning with such force that a wind is whipped up around the dome. The dome has a radius of five meters. Ninjutsu and Taijutsu strikes are blown back if they come into contact with the dome. However, strikes of B rank or higher can pierce the dome, causing a chakra reaction that will most likely blow both the user and the attacker backwards. Limit: Must learn from a Jyuuken teacher or at the Hyuuga Mansion. Must be a Hyuuga. Must know Jyuuken Advanced Stance. Must know Hakkeshou: Sekishokyuu.
Kyodai was back at the main house training dojo where his father taught him. It was another time of his weekly lessons in the style of their family and clan. Kyodai was liking the leassons more after all his experiences recently outside the hospital. But it still wasn't his favorite activity but it was useful. He was getting slowly but surely better at the martial arts of defense, and this was thanks to his father. Every week was another lesson in his family's style.
Kyodai would usually work this lesson into his own personal style that mixed the martial arts from a few styles together. Today's lesson for him was definitely a defensive maneuver that was almost a perfect defense. It was a chkara spin move that blocked ninjutsu and taijutsu. With this movement he would be well defended against most offensive techniques as his heritage was already fairly good at looking through genjutsu.
Kyodai had to set up the path ways first though before getting to a nice defense by flooding his visual range with his own chakra. It wasn't easy with the limited chakra thathe worked with at the moment. But he had great practice in the control of the chakra he did have to call on that made it easier to use. A little chakra in the right amounts was sometimes more useful than great amounts of chakra.
Kyodai took a deep breath and began the process as his father taught him. His father had taught him first by describing what must be done. Then his father went ahead and showed him what was exactly needed. It was an effective teaching method that Kyodai took to very well. With his intelligence and memory he was recreating his father's moves with very high accuracy.
Kyodai eventually had the air around him flooded, now it was time to begin the spinning. Now when the move was done right the spinning would be at high speed. But since he was just learning the move it was just a slow spin to get the process correct. It looked more like a dance than actual martial arts at first. As Kyodai continued though he was getting the feel of how it was suppose to go a bit better with each rotation.

0/20 Hakkeshou: Kaiten (Hands of the Eight Divinations: Divination Whirl) Rank: C Skill: Taijutsu Effect: The user releases chakra from their tenketsu while spinning like a top, creating a dome of spinning chakra that will repel Ninjutsu and Taijutsu. Kyodai's rotations got faster and faster until he had it going properly. Even then his father criticized his swirl. His father was saying that his swirl was to small because he lacked the energy and that it was to slow. So Kyodai redoubled his efforts on spinning faster and faster, and even then it wasn't quite enough yet. His Chakra output was too fine and not enough given as a burst for a proper defense.
His father threw random objects at him as he spoke to Kyodai. The purpose was to get Kyodai to do this correctly. Slowly He was getting it but ever so slowly and this frustrated his father. He didn't understand how his child could understand books so easily and have such control as the medics did but couldn't do a simple whirl. This made his father more than simply exasperated with Kyodai.
Kyodai had to keep it up for quite awhile all the while he was getting pelted with books and the random objects his father threw. But he was improving even as his mood soured at getting hit more than a few times. His father was so hard on him with his training. But he was improving so he guess he should be grateful of his father. But that was a hard feeling when getting hit with stuff.
Kyodai spun faster still and now was able to summon up enough energy and chakra to make a proper field. Suddenly the objects were getting deflected by the great wind that was swirling with his chakra. This was the state of the jutsu that his father was trying to teach him. And as soon as he got it his father stopped throwing things and smiled. That was the whole point he didn't mean to be so hard on his son.
Kyodai stopped the spin and held his head for a moment because he was dizzy. But he did feel a little proud of himself for finally getting the defensive technique. He didn't know why their style was hard for him sometimes but he was improving. Maybe it was his lack of focus on only their martial arts but who knew. Either way he bowed at his father and prepared himself mentally for the next lesson.

Punch Mechanics Rank: "E" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A straight punch can be made with the forward hand (usually called a "jab") or the rear hand (a "cross"). The Basic principles of the punch are the same for either hand. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Starting Position Left-leg-forward fighting stance. Making a Fist Roll your fingers tightly so that there is no space. Seal your thumb tightly over your fingers near the first knuckle. Do not put your thumb inside your fingers. Limit: Must learn from a Master of Krav Maga.
Kyodai needed to learn how to do a closed fist punch correctly or so said his instructor from the hospital. He was told while he was fine at open palm techniques of his family and even decent at the holds and throws of Aikido, he couldn't punch properly. It was a completely different kind of movement than he was use to. So to learn this movement he was told to position himself in front of a mirror and practice basic punching.
Kyodai was to watch himself as he punched straight forward. This would be the equivalent of a jab or a cross in boxing but wasn't either really. First he had to have good body position like any other martial arts. His left leg was forward and his right leg slightly back providing stable balance. He had to roll his hand tightly making sure there was no space in his hand. And lastly seal his thumb over his fist, near his first knuckle.
This way he would watch himself punch the air, while his teacher instructed on his movement. He was to line up his wrist with his arm, this was to lessen the impact and to make sure he didn't break his wrist hitting other people. It wasn't a hard concept but he did have to move quite differently than he ever had before. But knowing more styles would make him a much better fighter.

Krav Maga Fighter Mentality Rank: "D", "C", "B", "A", "S" Skill: Supplementary Effect: By fighting on and on, a Krav Maga Fighter becomes more proficient when an attack may come by. This happens usually when the Krav Maga Fighter becomes unable to see the attack. However by being in combat for so much they can feel when an attack is coming making them less able to be flanked. Special: --- Drawback: The user may only learn this technique by the class that they are. This means that in order to learn the "C" Rank version they must be "C" Class, if they wish to learn the "B" Rank version they must be "B" Class. Description: A technique where the subconscious mind, where the subconscious body reacts just as they are attacked while flanked or while their back is turn. The body reacts in such a way to where they are capable of withstanding so much. This technique makes it where the Krav Maga Fighter is incapable of being surprised attacked, a sudden second sense kicks in as their body screams out to them yelling at them telling them to move, duck, dodge or anything else within that manner. This works on whenever they are being attacked. This technique however has a major flaw. The user is capable of dodging only whenever the opponent's class is equal or lower to that of the rank of the technique they know. This means that a "D" Class user that knows this technique cannot use this against an opponent that is "C" Class or higher. Limit: Must learn from a Master of Krav Maga.
Kyodai was told he was getting pretty good at switching between his chosen styles but what he was lacking wasn't physical but mental. He didn't think like he could get into a fight any moment. He thought like a doctor and a normal civilian and that wouldn't do. Especially for Kyodai going into Krav Maga, half of his focus should be on his constant awareness. Now as a hyuuga he knew this to be true.
His teacher in the ways of Krav Maga sent him out and about in the seediest parts of the village. The purpose was simple was to gain a heighten awareness and a mentality of being always fight ready. He didn't really need to get into fights per say but just feel like a fight could happen at any moment for prolonged enough time to become second nature. It was more of a feeling than actually being able to see anything.
Kyodai did what he was told by his master by heading down to the docks that were mainly unused because they were to small but still had a population that worked them. He went out at night for several days. Each night he chose a different path down a different alley. This was where he passed by thugs and others who preferred violence to get their way. This was what he was suppose to feel.
The eyes on his back and the target painted there. These people looked at him like an easy mark as this wasn't his usual area of town that he visited. Even the KMP didn't come down here to much as long there wasn't to much noise made. Here people took care of their own problems or they died from them. And Kyodai day in and day out was growing a second feeling of when he had actual eyes on him and when a person felt ready to attack him.
It was all a mental exercise for him but one with very real physical danger. But as he grew confident his mental state his body language changed. He carried himself more like a fighter and less like a victim. This was what he needed to move on to other lessons and slowly those eyes would look for easier prey. He carried himself like a person who could defend himself which meant the little guys would find somewhere else to be.

Left Straight Punch Rank: "D" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A simple straight punch. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Starting Position Left-Leg-forward fighting stance. Driving with your legs and keeping your elbow down as long as possible, extend your left fist forward. As your hand travels out, rotate your shoulder and hip forward to add power. Make contact with the first two knuckles of your fist, rotating your fist about 45° to add power. Be sure your wrist is straight. The punch should penetrate the target, not just touch the surface. At the movement of impact, weight should be in the punch. Recoil quickly bringing your hand back to starting position. Tips Tuck your chin to your chest to protect your jaw. Roll the shoulder on the punching side up to protect your jaw. The basic principle of movement while in a fighting stance is to start with the forward foot while pushing off with the rear foot, then close the step so you end up in the original stance. (If User knows The Jab in Boxing, the user does not need to learn this Technique.) Limit: Must learn from a Master of Krav Maga. Must know the Fundamentals in Level 1 - Yellow Belt.
Now that Kyodai's instructor was satisfied that he had reached the first stage of understanding a true defense he was going to instruct Kyodai in a way of how everyone who don't see in three sixty can defend in such. It was hard for him not to rely on his sight to help him but he understood the purpose. He needed to know how to defend himself beyond the heritage of being a Hyuuga
And it was back to baby steps for Kyodai, he was having to learn all the basics like he never knew them. So while it was mentally annoying to Kyodai it served a good purpose. At this stage is was still learning how to strike but in the forms of Krav Maga and not with all the extra chakra and seal enhancements that he did. He may have gotten the ideas down with the mechanics of punching but it was time for specifics.
The first step was in using his primary striking hand his left hand in what boxers would call a jab. His starting position would be a left foot first fighting kind of posture. Driving with his legs and keeping his elbows tucked in was odd for Kyodai but he did it. He extended his left fist forward with a snap. He was shadow boxing at first then he was brought to an actual punching bag similar to one boxers use.
His instructor walked him through each movement step by step, breaking it down for ease of Kyodai's mind. With his memory he would be able to visualize every strike he needed to do and that was important for his development. When he struck the bag with the first two knuckles he had to turn his wrist forty five degrees for added power. It was a penetrating punch that had to be followed through unlike his usual soft ways.
He was to practice for several hours a day to get this right and to build up his wrist and hands. Hard styles were a lot different than soft styles and Krav Maga incorporated bits of both. This meant that he had to build his body to handle the stress of the training for both kinds of fighting. It was not an easy process but one he chose to do. Each day he grew stronger in all his styles.

Cross-Body Punch Rank: "D" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A forward cross punch used with the strength arm. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Starting Position Left-leg-forward fighting stance. Driving with your legs and keeping your elbow down as long as possible, extend your right fist forward. As your hand travels out, rotate your shoulder and hip forward to add power. Pivot your rear foot like you are putting out a cigarette. Make contact with the first two knuckles of your fist, rotating your fist about 45° to add power. Be sure your wrist is straight. The punch should penetrate the target, not just touch the surface. At the moment of impact, weight should be in the punch. Recoil quickly, bringing your hand back to starting position. Tips: Tuck your chin to your chest to protect your jaw. Roll the shoulder on the punching side up to protect your jaw. (If user knows The Cross/The Straight the in Boxing, the user does not need to learn this Technique.) Limit: Must learn from a Master of Krav Maga. Must know the Fundamentals in Level 1 - Yellow Belt.
Now that the basic straight punch was understood he was told he had to understand the cross body punch. Kyodai nodded for he thought he knew already but he soon learned that he was wrong. He may have understood what it looked like and what it meant but he didn't understand the underlying fundamentals as far as his instructor was concerned. And that was the point they were at.
Though at this point he was granted the rank of a White Belt in Krav Maga for he knew the most basic portions of the style. If Kyodai was to advance to yellow belt which was what he was learning, he had to understand the techniques he was using. And the instructor pointed out it wasn't understanding it by thinking but understanding it in such a way that it was natural. This would be the hardest part for Kyodai.
But Kyodai had made strides in his understanding even on the instinctive level. It was odd to awaken instincts that he thought he didn't have. He had always been a thinking and now he was becoming a straight martial artist. It was what his father wanted and it wasn't even a soft style like Aikido or his heritage like Jyuuken that brought him there. No it was just a friendly mentor at the crisis center who didn't want to see Kyodai hurt when he went on missions.
Kyodai though was picking up the lessons easier and easier as he got more lessons. This particular lesson was more than how to punch simple with his right hand for it could be either hand in truth. No it was the whole body position and movement that went with punching across the body. How to add power and how to strengthen defense while committing to an offensive technique.
There was a whole philosophy behind Krav Maga that he was getting besides the straight how to use certain techniques. Kyodai was grateful for his instructor's patience and wisdom of teaching methods with Kyodai. It was a humbling experience even if Kyodai wasn't a very humble person to begin with. He was certainly a different kind of Hyuuga to know more how everyone else fought.

Kyodai as he was being instructed in the dojo training area near the crisis center wondered why his instructor decided to teach him such things. Most people had a grudge against the Hyuuga house. More so Branch members of the clan are considered unimportant and usually are ignored. So why was his instructor doing this he did not know, but day in and day out he observed trying to define his motive.
It was not an easy thing to divine motives, especially without using the obvious benefits of his enhanced sight. Kyodai though was a smart man who knew a lot about human psychology as well as normal medicine. Each day his instructor taught him provided new insights into the man's personality but not motive. It was a mystery that drove Kyodai a bit crazy for the world rarely did things out of kindness.
But it seemed after weeks of study under the fellow doctor and instructor of Krav Maga and Aikido that is was indeed just kindness. And maybe there was some fostering of the potential within Kyodai mixed in as well. The instructor was a kind older gentleman with a will of steel but a soul of gentleness. It was an odd thing to fine in this world of shinobi but one that was helping him grow.

Eccentric Specialist (Sense Motive and Evidence Collection) Rank: "C" Always 20 Training Points Skill: Supplementary Effect: User is focused in an unusual area of study for a member of the user's profession. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Choose any 2 Skills. These skills the user may gain an extra +1 per die roll when learning the skill and the user gains a +5 insight bonus on all checks with these skills. The user can learn this technique multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time the user selects this technique it applies to a new set of skills. Limit: Must learn from Universal Miscellaneous.
Kyodai was becoming specialized in the collection of evidence and even understanding people. This was both unusual and not being that he was a combat medic. Usually medics have to much to worry about than to worry about an investigation. More so being a combat medic meant he needed to have his head in the battle. But Kyodai started picking up little skills and tricks from being the observant person he was.
Kyodai being a medic meant he usually got to scenes first and got fresh eyes on anything that happen. This would then lead into a insight into the situation. These insights were more than just the scene though it was also into the people at the scene. His years in the triage area of the Crisis Center was giving him a set of experiences that gave him a unique understanding of crimes and people.
As a Medic, Kyodai would see the results from everything like a accident to a intentional crime. He also would see people at their best at the end of a treatment and at their worst when they first come in. His analytical and cynic tendencies helped him in medicine and in investigations. He used this to his advantage to grow beyond the simple idea of being someone who only reacts but also finds.
As a Shinobi Kyodai would need the skills he was developing through experience and it wasn't enough just to stand behind. He had a world class mind demanding to be used and use it he decided he would do. So besides the basics of experience teaching him observation and what is important, he began to learn more. He began to read investigative novels and technique manuals of how the police handle situations.
Kyodai also began to bone up on a medical field that was rare for a pure medic. Psychological analysis, this was the area of a person's behavior. This would improve his medical standing as well as made him more versatile. Little did he know that the people that he played chess with were of similar bent. But it did help him grow as a person as well as a professional. He took to the studies like no other.

Kyodai was certainly not average medic even if he was pretty average in power. His specialties and his ability to analyze made him an interesting addition to any team. He was generally able to spread his abilities to be decent all around but truly hand to hand was his best area. But even better than his physical skills was his mental ones of evidence and knowing people. He could collect clues from situations by taking a different kind of eye at it.
Kyodai was turning experience into a specialty of sorts. He knew just what was suppose to be somewhere and what wasn't. He could read blood and a body like they were a book. And using that in connection with how people react was telling. He thought it may be time to actually join part time with the KMP so he could get even more experience. And it would take him away from his house on the mansion grounds.
Anything that kept him away from being reminded of his second class status was a bonus. Kyodai though did it mostly out of the joy of figuring out the most complex puzzles. And the human mind and what they are capable of is the most complex puzzle there was. He studied as hard on the human mind and investigative techniques as he did for his medical degree. Though like everything there was always more to learn.
Kyodai knew though at this point he was still an amateur in some ways even if he was getting pretty good at it all. He knew that some investigators would see his attempts as a way to surpass what he was. But it was more than that for him. He was truly just becoming good at the things that interest his whims and develop his mind. He studied hard and worked on his skills individually and together.
Kyodai shook his head of his ruminations on how he was developing. He was getting pretty good at multitasking his mind and concentration to be able to do these things. And it wasn't like they were completely unrelated. It all had to do with people and what they either did or are about to do. He was just understanding of how that all blended and worked in a cohesive whole.
