Kuroki was gaining in his understanding of the world and in more formal education as he progressed as a shinobi. He became curious with thegadgets that other shinobi used. So he want to the local gadget shop to see if he could learn from one of the technicians there. Unfortuantely for Kuroki that particular technician was not accepting students but he told Kuroki of one who lived away from the rest of the village that needed a new apprentice.
Kuroki sought out this man who was considered a strange and maybe even deranged. There was rumors that this particular crafter was a deranged maniac who liked his clockwork more than he did people. His reptuation and scared air people had about talking of him made Kuroki like him even more. Kuroki was not so easily frighten off so he approached the decrepit shack the old clockwork maker lived.
Knocking on the door got no response. So Kuroki pushed the door open since it was unlocked. Inside he found a odd workshop with puppets and clockwork everywhere. This was all sorts of blueprints and half finished notes everywhere. Seeing no body immediately, Kuroki crept into the shack and began reading the genius ramblings of a master technician. This man had so many plans and things in the process of being made it was amazing.
Kuroki began getting seeped into the plans of a paricular kind of puppet contraption. It had no name but it was an odd sort of launcher. It was meant to be attached to the arms of an puppet. Another plan he discovered was a way to use magnetic plates in a puppets hands to make it so they could grip and wield swords. It was a bunch of interesting and odd items all over this darken workshop.
As h traveled deeper into the building he saw a small light sort at the other end. Wanting to meet the brillant mind behind these inventions he walked towards the light. When he say this wizen old man bent over some project of another. He waited until the man's hands was away from whatever to cough politely. The man looked up and glared at the intruder but after explaining why he was there the man gave a gruff nod and waved Kuroki over.

Monster Lore Rank: "C" Skill: Supplementary Effect: A technique that allows the user better access to identifying abilities and weaknesses of creatures. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: The Venator adds 5 per Class level on all non Animal Lore checks whenever making checks to identify the abilities and weaknesses of creatures. Limit: Must be a Venator.
Kuroki was reading up on the various lore of his preferred prey the undead. He had volumes and volumes of dusty tomes with random bits of lore written in Necril. Necril being the language of the living dead meant it was generally written by them. It provided an insight that just wasn't found in the usual tomes that was written buy hunters. He had since learned that his parents or someone in his bloodline were hunters of evil themselves.
Kuroki didn't know what to think of that. But after his experience with the other realms and the meeting with that after life spirit. He was destined to he be a hunter himself. And to be a proper hunter he needed knowledge on his prey. Specifically the undead and he could glean little bits and piece of how they think or at least the ones that do think from their writings. Because of his average understanding of the language though some things were missed.
Kuroki wasn't dishearten though a little knowledge is better than no knowledge at all and this was the path for his way to become a true hunter of the dead. Basically when he is called upon to hunt these evil spirits it will be like sending a spirit to hunt a spirit. As he learned about the monster too he learned about other hunters. Collectively they were known as venators.
It seems his clothing style while different was similar to other hunters. For the look of a Trench coat and tucked in pants into boots was common. He didn't have the pilgrim hat but eh everyone is different. Maybe he will get one later but probably not. He liked his look, it made people ask fewer questions and drove people off as much as his cursed dark aura did. It was strong enough that his doctor feared it.
He was used to the fear so he had some sympathy for the creature he was studying. But not much for these creatures preyed on the weak while he only preyed on them. Yes taking advantage of one's weakness was a battle strategy but it wasn't a means for systematic exploitation. Only others of the shadow would probably understand his mental quandary for was he better than the beasts he hunted?

Kuroki was gaining vast about of tidbits in his hunt for lore on the undead. There was even bits of lore he couldn't translate yet because the language it was written in wasn't Necril or Common. Most of the information strangely enough was ancient. It just meant though translations took more time not that they are impossible. So with a pen and a pad he slowly worked his way through the dusty moth eaten tomes of lore.
Unfortunately pages were missing and great care had to be held because the pages were stiff and likely to become dust with their age. So with great difficulty and care he read through the ancient text to get little tidbits of information. Little by little a fuller page of information was beginning to show from his notes. It was hard headache inducing work but was rrewarding as he found out the secrets of the dead.
Dead men do tell tales despite the legends of the oceans. Davy Jones Locker wasn't as secure as he thought it was. There was so many legends on the after life and the creatures that pour out of it was hard to gain fact. There was multiple sources and each source had their own version of where the souls of the dead go. There was heaven and hell of course but there was also limbo and purgatory to name a few.
A the dead transition from these realms either by invite or vice to inhabit their old bodies however decayed or worse others bodies. He was rading up on this and more just to find out the secrets these dead keep. For while they may tell some tales they keep more to themselves. He was here to exploit their secrets to destroy them and send the dead back to the after realms.
Kuroki's slow progress was benefitting but tiring. After awhile he decided it was time to stop reading for a bit and take a break. He didn't know what he was going to do next but he needed to give his physical body a break. So he leaned back in his chair and rubbed his eyes as he yawned. While the information was interesting the old tomes full of dust was irritating and he needed this break.

Kuroki in his cavern home was teaching himself on how to use tones to his advantage for he knows his own voice had a haunted echoic quality to it. So he was going to use that to his advantage to gain another weapon of his arsenal. While he was no full fledged bard of the entertaining arts, he did have an ear for sounds. It helped that his other senses were so often dulled by his mists and shadows.
So he started with simple voice modulation and exercises he hear about from the market entertainers. Basically he would repeat me, me, me changing his tone each time to fine tune his tone and pitch. His singing voice was much nicer than his speaking voice it rang out well and contained an element not usually found. As he sang he began with a simple melody that he knew.
Kuorki's haunted tones and song echoed from the cavern. It was a spooky low echo of a melody that sent shivers up people's spines. If he would use this for entertainment it would be for ghost stories not anything happier. But he did have a good voice for it, and it was an attractive melody that compelled a person to listen to the end even as it set their senses haywire.

Demon's reach (Second training) Rank: D, C, B, A, S Skill: Taijutsu; Passive Effect: Allows user to increase their striking range in the Wires of the Demon form. Special: -- Drawback: -- Description: User practices on a dummy within a dojo at increasing distances to improve accuracy of their strikes using the Wires of the Demon form. •D rank: 0-10 meters; training adds 2 meters •C rank: 10-20 meters; training adds 2 meters •B rank: 20-30 meters; training adds 5 meters •A rank: 30-40 meters; training adds 5 meters •S rank: 40-50 meters; training adds 10 meters Limit: Must know Deamon Stance.
Kuroki decided he needed to get more familiar with his wire usage, especially the distance he could work his wires with. So far his reach has been pretty limited to his actual wire but he knew he should be able to reach further. He set up a dummy outside on the heal side that led to his humble abode. There he was going to work on getting a little more distance out of his wire works.
It wasn't an easy task and it require a lot of physical work on him. Kuroki was a fairly large and healthy man, so it wasn't outside his abilities though. It was a matter of timing and reach that he was working out anyways. His large arms gave him reach but screwed up timing. So it was just a matter of practice to prefect this. He wasn't much in physical confrontation despite his size but he believed in being prepared.
Kuroki was outside at a small distance from his dummy practicing the wire techniques he already knew trying to get a little more distance out of them. He was practicing little things like straight piercing strikes, slashing whipping strikes for example. He was also tangling and untangling the little dummy over and over. Each time he would take a small step backward and try it again from a little farther.
If he couldn't reach from a distance he would stop there. There Kuroki would continue trying the same set of techniques over and over until he could reach the distance. Each try would get him a little closer and a little closer until he had it with all his known techniques. Then Kuroki would take another very small step back and do it all again. He would repeat this process over and over. His goal wasn't complete until he reached a predetermined distance.
That distance was a marked line in the dirt. He wanted an extra four meter reach from the moves. He started with an extra two meter reach from the techniques he could do. It was all very movement and wire dependent though. He was very tired when he finally reached his goal. Sweat dripped off of him when he recoiled his wire and went back in for a break, he had reached his goal but he knew there was more work ahead.

At D rank the user can walk while performing Wires of the Demon Techniques. At C rank the user can run while performing Wires of the Demon Techniques. At B rank user can have full mobility, including jumping, flipping, or even flying if applicable while performing Wires of the Demon Techniques. At S rank user can dodge while using Wires of the Demon Techniques, which converts the Demon Weaver strikes into counter attacks. Limit: Must be in the Demon Weaver fighting style. Must have Mastered the Demon Weaver fighting style for the S rank version of this Technique
Kuroki's Wire movements have been simple up to this point and he knew it. He knew he needed to be able to get beyond just walking while performing techniques. But this would be no easy task. It would require great discipline and control on his part. And the challenge most of all would be the limited use of chakra during the whole process. He had graduated the walk phase of the training, it was time to run.
To run he knew he needed to go over the crawl and walk phases of what he had accomplished. He needed to grow in his physical defenses if he spirit was going to stand a chance of staying in this realm. And the demon weaver form was one of his chosen forms. It's wires were an extension of his being. It gave him the reach he needed to silently do what was needed for the village.
When he was in the crawl phase it was all he could do to stand correctly and to have his arms position right. For this stance was not a natural stance most martial artists feel that was good. But with wires how it looks matters less than how you manipulate the wires. And this proved true over and over again through his training. It would be a rough transition to the run phase if that was the last point he hit.
But that was not the last point of his training in this style of wire movement. No, Kuroki had learned to move and to lessen how his movements would affect his wires. Then while also moving he could still get the exact movements out of the wires that he wanted. He learned how to move with the manipulations instead of fighting against them. It greatly opened up options for how to fight. But walking is slow, now it was time to speed up.
Slow while can be powerful, sometimes speed was needed. And in this was why he needed to get better so he can move at full speed and not get tangled up himself. Kuroki knew the only way to train this though would to be practicing his techniques and risk tangling at a run. It was going to be a dear physical trial for him. But one he knew he must be successful in. And that time was now as he stepped out to his little training grounds of the incline and woods in front of his cave.

Kuroki was now running around the incline field in front of his home. Here he had set up a small course for him to practice with. It was a simple course made up of trees, rocks, and old worn out dummies that he claimed from various rubbish bins. He wasn't a reach one so a lot of his training equipment was second hand. This particular day was one of the ones most other people enjoyed but did nothing for the spook.
It was a nice sunny day which meant he was stuck in his physical form for the most part. While he could still become incorporeal and use spirit energy on sunny days it was harder for him. It was as if a nice sun was the athema to his abilities. No matter he still trained and pushed himself beyond his limits. And besides he was training his wire techniques at a run this day. The sun didn't really matter it was the humidity that was sapping.
Kuroki ran through his obstacle course a few times to get familiar with it before he decided to go at it with his wire. It would help if he knew his targets to know if he got them. For now it would be easier to keep to simple strike and just try not to entangle his wire. But venetually he would have to entangle and untangle on the run as well. So after he got familiar enough with his course it was time for the action.
For action he ran through the course using his wire as his weapon of choice. He would strike out with his wire and recall it with a few deft movements. He was to run through the course several times to make sure he had it down right. The first few times was a picture of failure as he ran through it and either lost his wire or hand it entangled to the point of uselessness. At those times he would have to retrieve the wire and get it back into shape of use.
Eventually as the day wore on he got better and better. until late in the day he was going through the course with no problems at all. And all this was at a run he made it through. Now this wasn't the end of his training of course but he figured he needed to prepare for the next part. Which is the ability to do it while jumping , flipping, and fighting up close in general. That was not going to be easy not one bit.

Tangling strike Rank: C Skill: Taijutsu Effect: Tangles a target with a strike. Special: -- Drawback: -- Description: With a flicking motion of the hand user can produced wave within their Wire so that they can attempt to tangle an object. This is done when striking out with a Wire Strike, Multi Wire Strike, or Complex Aiming. The number and size of objects are dependent on The Mighty Wire technique. Limit: Must know Wire Strike.
Kuroki was now trying to get beyond straight hitting a target but how to entangle them. It was an interesting process to do so. He would have to send waves and loops out through the wire. He had to attempt to do this with just as the wire left his hand. It was a complex action that sounded easier than it was. And it didn't sound easy to begin with as far as Kuroki was concerned. He still had his dummies set up from before.
Kuroki decided to crawl walk run this as he did most of his training. For eventually he would have to figure how to do this at a run. But for now he was figure how to make the wire move right as he stood still for this kind of strike. It was a process that encompassed all his concentration as he attempted to do this. He would through out the loops and waves of the wire over and over.
It was all to entangle his dummies that he practiced one. It would be slightly easier on a living object as they could possibly entangle themselves. But he had little in the wave of visitors usually. His cavern was haunted by him and a reputation to stay away has already emerged. He was a spook and one who didn't do well with most others. And here he was training in an art that was almost destroyed.
He knew there was schools that thought this stuff and would have been easier for him to go there. But even those places didn't feel right around him. Besides his presence could be deadly to others that practice there. His Y'la had no compunctions at making the people around him unlucky. And Kuroki knew that so here he was training by himself using dusty scrolls to assist him.
Yes, Kuroki was learning an active art of taijutsu from ancient scrolls that got squirrelled away from the people who destroyed some of the dojos in a time past. It was from his readings and his dedication that he was learning the demon weaver arts. Even then he was just a novice in the arts not even a true demon weaver. He was a pup but a pup with teeth of death himself. So he trained on such arts like a tangling maneuver.

10/20 Tangling strike Rank: C Skill: Taijutsu Effect: Tangles a target with a strike.
Kuroki continued his training of tangling and untangling his dummies. And he was planning on training it in every way he could at the moment. It was needed for him to improve on his physical defense. Besides this would give him the option of an nonlethal attack. After fighting that demon ice user and being required to bring him in it was needed. His dummy obstacle course provided what he needed to train though.
Kuroki knew that the tangling strike was just an extension of the wire strike and his other attacks in the discipline. Or that was what the scrolls told him it should be that way. So Kuroki trained in such a way that would make that philosophy true. So he began with how he simply trained with the walking methods and the standing still methods that he trained with everything else. But that was just the beginning for this, having to loop and manipulate strikes to entangling.
Kuroki when he was satisfied with a crawl and a walk phase he moved on. But it took him awhile to get to that point. The walk phase of making tangling strikes at a walking pace was difficult. He kept just tangling himself some of the time. But as time went on he grew more and more proficient. He maintained up the training until it was time to take a break before upping the difficulty. And that time was when the current difficulty became easy for him.
The third phase of his training plan was a running phase. This he would try his tangling strikes as he ran. It wouldn't do if he tangled himself while running and trying to do this in combat. With enough training he would be able to do these things while fighting. Building up his proficiency and his abilities so he could be more useful to his allies. He needed to be better lest Roar had to always carry the battle.
Kuroki continued well until it was time to go to bed. But in the end he felt he mastered the move as it was. He needed to expand his array of abilities to grow any more in this. So far he had a decent array but very little power. His thoughts turned on how to work on this but in the end shrugged. He packed up his wire and moved back into the house for some reading before bed time.

[0/10] Kaitou arrived at the strange collection of graveyards late at night. Once again in the throngs of insomnia, he decided the best way to get himself closer to sleep would be to exert body both and mind simultaneously. It had been awhile since he dusted off his training clothing and attempted to learn something new. With the chuunin exams on the eventual horizon, he had to prepare himself. His body was covered in an off-white gi that fit loosely. The sleeves had been removed in a crude fashion that allowed for his deltoids to poke out to meet the night.
His main weakness for years had been mobility. He was a powerhouse of offense and could produce a great physical defense, but had little skills in the way of avoidance. To become a strong ninja, or even a strong combatant, Kaitou realized how essential it was to master the art of dodging. He looked around to see he was alone, his only training partners being the corpses that were embedded in the surrounding ground. Perfect.
Lifting his arm until it ran parallel to the ground, he extended his polarity field out into the night. The gourd he kept on his back opened on its own, a cloud of darkness formed in front of his hand. He closed his fist; the cloud transformed into a dozen senbon needles. He threw the needles towards the sky. The needles ascended at a quick pace. His palm soon pointed upwards to the moon. His hands hurried into a flurry of hand seals. Using suspension shot, Kaitou could keep the senbon suspended in midair. He took a deep breath before beginning.
Soon after, the needles fell from the sky at a rapid pace. Spatters of red coated the dirt of the Haunted Falls. His first try failed. With a single hand seal, the needles that had pierced through his body fell apart into dust. The procedure began again and again. By the end of the hour, Kaitou was covered in puncture holes from the needle practice. Resolved to get it right at least once, he increased the potential pain factor. Applying Charged Projectile to the needles gave them a strange blue glow. When the needles fell, the young Masamune was more than prepared to avoid the familiar sting of lightning. The senbon failing to pierce his skin, Kaitou walked back home to try his hand once more at falling asleep.

[0/50] Flustered with his abilities only being suited for combat or mass slaughter, Kaitou embarked on a journey once more to the haunted falls to practice the most basic of all Masamune techniques. Object formation was an area of his bloodline he had left alone for years. He went from forming a cube of iron sand to focusing instead on developing mass arsenals of weaponry. His history with the Ikatsui only perpetuated his past desire to become a living weapon of magnetism.
He sat down in a lotus position, his senses open to the strange, drab air of the Haunted Falls. The gourd he carried around stirred from his command, a small amount of satetsu poked out into the night sky and began to form into various shapes. At his first attempt, a knife formed. Frustrated, the young ninja punched is arm forward and caused the knife of sand to disperse. This pattern continued several more times. First a hammer, then a mace, a great sword. An hour or two into his practice, he went for something simple. He caught wind of a bird flying off in the distance. Focusing his mind’s eye on the form of the creature, Kaitou performed the hand seals that preceded ferro forge. A moment later, a crane of iron sand formed. Albeit immobile, Kaitou became filled with satisfaction.
Once more, his hands danced into a string of handseals that beckoned more iron sand to join his immobile creation party. The sand formed the crude shape of a hunter carrying a rifle. It was akin to a melted toy soldier in appearance; vague but slightly convincing at the very least. Kaitou snapped his fingers together, which led to the created hunter forcing the crane back into dust. satetsu.
