Candy Canes

Greetings Everyone and welcome to the 2017 Advent Calendar. Today is December 15th, which means Days 15 and 16 of the Advent Calendar and the theme for today (If you couldn't see the big letters above) Is Candy Canes! Yes, the sweet, sugary, colorful treats that are often seen this time of year. They can be fruity, minty, chocolatey, or really anything. And because of the wide variety of flavors they can have, I want you to design your own! I have for you a candy cane template that you can use to design your own candy cane. Of course, if you don't want to use my template... You don't have to! If you find one that you like more, then personalize that one instead.

Here are the rules for this event!

[li]This is a two part event. 1) Design/Color your own Candy cane. You don't need supreme Photoshop skills to be able to do this. Just something simple will be fine. 2) Explain what you designed. What flavor is it, why did you choose the colors that you did? The colors don't have to match the flavor, but at least explain what it is to us.[/li][li]Here is the template that I've provided for you. (LINK) Again, you DO NOT have to use this template. If you'd rather use another, feel free! If you genuinely do not have any way whatsoever to color anything like it, let me know. But I believe most computers have some way of allowing you to color something, same with most smart phones and tablets having a free app that can be downloaded. If you don't have one on your computer, see if this in-browser program will work (LINK). (NOTE: This program requires Flash Player)
[/li][li]This is a Submission Event! This means that all entries into this event are to be PMed to Gift Giver . The thread will be locked until the voting phase begins.
[/li][li]This is a TWO DAY EVENT! That means that 48 hours from the time of posting, this event can be closed. Will it be closed immediately after that point? Nope! The thread isn't closed until I say that it is. So if I haven't posted saying it's closed, you can submit! However, each day is for something separate. The first day is for submissions, the second day is for voting. So submissions will only be accepted in the first 24 hours.
[/li][li]As it says above, voting will be done to decide the winners. After the first 24 hours, I will post the submissions. After that, another 24 hours will be given for the site to vote on what they think is the best designed candy cane.

I will give you an extension equal to the amount of time you were waiting on me to respond. (If during the submission phase, the submission phase will be extended, and the voting will be held off until the extension is done.)

Now for the fun part... The prize! The prize for Day 15/16's event is... a mystery! Yep, keeping this one hidden (Most will be like this). However, I will say there is a First, Second, and Third place prize here. The voting is what will determine that. There will also be a participation prize just for submitting. And, as with all events, a chance to win one of five grand prize packages at the end of the event. Plus, remember that you have to participate in all events to receive a special prize package at the end! So go out there and show us what kind of Candy Cane you can come up with.

I decided to go for a colourful candy cane for this competition. As you can see, I used all the colours of the rainbow as my base. The reason why I chose this? Well, Christmas is a global holiday. It may be one of the few holidays that are celebrated in all of the continents. But that does not mean that it is celebrated in the same ways. Hence why I decided to include flavours from all over the world in the candy cane.

I chose apples for the red part of the cane. Apples are often used in cider that people drink for Christmas in the U.S. As for orange, I picked churros. This is eaten in southern Europe and America. Churros represents something good (literally!) that the Spaniards may have brought with them to south America.

The yellow colour tastes like rutebaga. This is a vegetable that we often eat for Christmas in Scandinavia. I thought something unusual would be a contrast to the more traditional flavours. The green stripe in the cane is green tea. This is a taste that contrasts the modern and traditional. Green tea has been drunk in Asia for centuries. But the Christmas holiday is a more recent addition in holidays at the same continent.

As for the blue stripe, I decided to stick with coconut. This is a fruit that is often used in southern-based nations. It would not surprise me if it’s used in cakes or candies. A surprise can be found in the indigo stripe. It tastes like peanuts. These nuts are eaten in many countries, especially around Christmas.

Purple is an unnatural colour, so I selected plum for this one. This is a callback to the sugar plum fairy in «The Nutcracker». It’s a very famous ballet that many associates with Christmas. Next stripe is baby pink. This has a cinnamon taste. A cute girl or woman may be more fierce and/or ambitious than she appears.

Brown is – unsurprisingly – chocolate. I chose something more traditional since there are so many unusual flavours in this candy cane. The teal colour tastes like pavlova. Why pavlova? Well, I’ve been told that pavlova is eaten in Australia and New Zealand during the holidays. It’s an interesting contrast to the cakes we have in the northern hemisphere. Last but not least is the maroon colour. It tastes like spicy chocolate. This is a tribute to South America since it's the native to the cocoa bean.

Welcome to NFRP's unique Jashin-flavoured candy cane! Naturally, classic red and greys were used on the candy cane to resemble Hidan's three-bladed Jashin scythe. This also harshly contrasts Jashin-Bear's far darker colours to give off a menacing appearance (that will usually stop candy-snatchers dead in their tracks). Surprisingly, the candy cane tastes of strawberry. However, overly eager individuals that do get their hands on the candy cane will usually almost immediately taste nothing but pain if they attempt to eat the very real trio of blades protruding out from the side of the cane.

Its a Milk Chocolate/White Chocolate Candy cane that has almond and dark chocolate bits. Its pretty crunchy and melts easily in you mouth after it meets your tounge. And as you can see, the Bear is enjoying the intense taste of the Chocolaty candy, maybe a little too much >~>. As for the color choice, I just went with traditional chocolate, nut, and Christmas colors, didn't feel like getting too fancy and make it a color explosion.

The idea was that the red part is strawberry and the green part is lemon, because we have these candies where I am from that have one strawberry side and one lemon side, and the two taste amazing together. Also, the red portion is sweet and the green portion is sorta sour.

So that's the idea.

And now for everyone's favorite part of the Advent Calendar... The Prize! For designing your own candy canes, each person listed above will receive a choice! Since Candy Canes typically have at least 2 colors, you each will have two choices!

The first choice is a Ryo Allowance. You can spend this allowance on any Non-Questable item. It can be spent on gadgets, animals, herbs, weapons, apparel, armor, augmentation rituals, specialty items that normally take a % chance to find. The choice of what you spend it on is completely up to you!

The second choice is rolls from the Thanksgiving thread. This could provide some amazing rewards, including even receiving a little bit of TP (Something that you cannot get with the allowance), but you might also not get anything useful. Any "joke" rolls will be replaced with something else roughly one or two above or below it in the list so that way you won't get any joke rolls from this.
