It would drain too much chakra if her sister did not offer up a chance to test her counter sooner than later, but luck seemed to be on the pink twin's side. Recognizing the faint glow of chakra around her sister's hand as she readies the destructive elements innate to her, the telltale vapor emitting from a powerful chakra attack charged in the hand, Harue steeled herself and began her improvised process.

Without her doujutsu she couldn't quite tell the nature of the chakra, but she could sense its raw power, straight from the core of her point system. As it came at her Harue strengthened the chakra of her own core and produced a thin layer of it adorned to her aura, preparing for the incoming blow. All she could do was hope the absorption and return would be similar to her sister's own display.

With a wave of her arm, the deadly pure-chakra blow was returned moments before it could grace Harue dangerously, barreling energy towards the purple twin so suddenly that she was caught off guard by the replicated counter if not only for a minute. It seemed that only a minute was enough, catching the twin hard in the side, throwing her aggressively aside.

Tsuyosa Ryuu: Futae no Kiwami (Mastery of Two Layers)

Description: Mastery of Two Layers is a technique that focuses on allowing the full use of one's strength and power to be fully utilized at its maximum output. The Futae no Kiwami's principle aspects come from understanding that all matter bears a level of resistance, and that a single blow's impact is wasted upon meeting this resistance. From this, two blows are to be acted to fully transfer this impact. With the fist, the first blow, using the proximal interphalangeal joints of the hand, meets to absorb the object's initial resistance. The first hit allows the user to bypass +2 Hardness per Class Level. Then, with folding the hand immediately to switch over to the proximal phalanx knuckles, delivers the final strike to the weakened object; in addition, the two hits are to be delivered at nearly the same time, with a few milliseconds interval. The 2nd strike deals 16 Armour Points of Damage per Class Level. The result is the complete destruction of the object (Can destroy overview Objects if it bypasses the Hardness), which has no more resistance to sustain itself and collapses into dust. Technique does double damage against inanimate objects while creating a crater 1/2 a meter per 16 Armour Points of Damage. User may relearn this technique multiple times. Each time learned allows the user to bypass an additional +1 Hardness while dealing +4 Armour Points of Damage per Class Level. May be performed once per movement.

Bouncing back, Matsunaga moves in to deliver an unarmed blow. Perhaps she was protecting her pride as she throws two punches into Harue's gut, the first quick and precise but no where near as deadly as the second that came mere milliseconds after the first. Harue's eyes go wide, as if they might pop out of her skull, and her body contorts awkwardly around the blow's follow through. Letting out a guttural holler, Harue is sent flying across the field.

Matsunaga stands over her and smiles once she's come to again, her vision blurry and her head dizzy. Yet all she can do is laugh and take the offered hand, wobbling on her feet. "How long was I out?" She asks. Matsunaga assures her it wasn't long, and they decide to call the spar to an end. Of course, they'd meet again in a few days to continue training, but for now Harue just wanted to know how to punch like that.

Instead of breaking apart for the early morning that they'd fought through to, they stay in the training fields so that Matsunaga can explain to her the dynamics of punching really, really hard. She explains first that it is apart of the fighting style that she'd shown her the stances too earlier, so it was completely within the pinkette's realm of possible strengths.

As if reciting a scroll or mentor's own lesson, Matsunaga begins the lesson by expressing its uses, and the formula behind it, and the tedious process between attempt and succession in terms of delivering the unarmed blows. Harue wanted nothing more than to be both physically and mentally overwhelming, so it was nice to dip her toes into TaiJutsu once more. She listens intently, sitting cross legged on the ground as her sister demonstrates slowly before her.

Holding a fist before her, Matsunaga stretches out her fingers and then folds them closed, flexing them and turning her fist wrist up, displaying to Harue the firmness in her knuckles and tightness in her phalanges, and how both fists differ very slightly from each other but compliment each other exponentially. With both of her hands still curled into fists, Matsunaga begins to explain the principles of a proper punch.

Although it doesn't make much sense to Harue that there are essentially two layers to punching something, but she listens and silently studies the things that Matsunaga is telling her if not only to learn how to be even a bit stronger in her physical prowess. She associates the process and understanding that Matsunaga explains to her with a tree and its bark. Perhaps she could practice punching some trees after this, then?

Ah, her sister was a step ahead of her. "I'll demonstrate on this tree," she's saying as she approaches a towering oak, patting its trunk first as if to preemptively apologize for targeting it. Even though she already had, Matsunaga suggests she might use the tree as an analogy. "Its initial resistance could be considered its bark." With one of her hands turned into a fist, she raps her knuckles against the bark. "Once I break through that first layer with my blow, I can bypass its natural sturdiness.

"Like taking advantage of that moment of weakness directly after my first hit." Harue snorts because she knew from experience that the second blow was definitely stronger than the first, yet she hadn't considered it was because the first blow had negated her primary resistance. Whatever that meant. "By delivering that first blow to dismantle their incipient defenses, you allow yourself the chance to utilize your maximum strength output," she continued.

In a step by step demonstration, Matsunaga mocks a punch to the tree's trunk with her non dominant hand first, and then brings that hand back in the same instant that she brings her second fist forward, her knuckles touching the same exact spot her other hand's knuckles had previously landed. "Not to mention two blows to the same area would make anyone whimper, granted you hit them hard enough both times."

Finally, to fully allow Harue the spectacle's devastation, Matsunaga warns her that she's going to actually punch down the tree and that the pink twin ought to move back a couple paces. Climbing to her feet but without taking her eyes off of her lilac sister, Harue puts a couple hundred feet between them, watching from afar as her sister went into powerful punches mode.

Peering through her Tasukeru offered no more understanding that Matsunaga's own lesson. She saw no chakra coursing through her or channeled to her fists. From her distance she remained through her Tasukeru, able to see up close as Matsunaga barely even winds up and delivers the first blow. The tree trunk splinters irreparably, an easy dent marking the spot she'd hit, the bark frayed there to reveal its light inside.

Leaving hardly a second between her blows, Matsunaga brings forth her opposite hand to finish off the both the demonstration and the tree. A thunderous crack rings out in the training field as her sister's fist soars effortlessly through the thick trunk of the tree, completely demolishing it from the center. It breaks in half, and falls down into the forest, opposite of Matsunaga, as if the mere force of her blow sent it in the punch's trajectory.

Excitement coursed through Harue’s entire body the next day she came to the training fields, this time without her accompanying sister. Their next spar wasn’t scheduled until sometime next week, and no amount of tea time they spent together would change that date. She ponders the entirety of Matsunaga’s lesson and looks upon the tree laid out in the surrounding forest. At least it mingled nicely in with the rest of the destruction caused by other herbian ninja training here.

Harue was ready to get her own high powered punches going. She decided to stand off against a tree, just as her sister had and just as she had analogized. Standing in front of a tree she’s chosen for herself, a stout lad with thick roots planting it sturdily in place and a narrowed trunk, Harue readies herself and goes over the process her sister had explained to her. It was simple and complex, she remembered the saying begrudgingly.

Supposing that she, like her sister, should begin with the process and forethought, Harue focused first on her stance. It was the basic stance derived of the Burēdono style she’d already begun to learn. It had less to do with her footing and posture and more to do with her fists, and their opportunity of power. How strong was she? She’d have to find out.

Matsunaga had said something about resistance and breaking it down with the first blow, something about the correct posture of the fingers against the palm. Something about the precise adjustment of her thumb, the interphalanges of the dexterous digit taut over the twomost fingers on her nondominant hand, the fist destined to strike first.

The first fist was the preliminary blow, so to speak. As Matsunaga had suggested, it wasn't necessarily meant to be the painful strike as much as the next blow was meant to be. So the second punch's execution was similar but vastly different from the first, and she supposed that too came down to the placement of fingers and how she flexed her knuckles.

Mirroring her first fist but flexing her knuckles, twisting the limb perpendicular to her right so as to balance out the two future delivered strikes, she focused perhaps too much on the way which she would use her hands, instead of focusing on the actual hitting. Maybe she was stalling.

Stalling was probably not far from her intention. She didn't really want to hit this tree. What had it done but help the economy? Alas, she would pay tribute to it and its sacrifices to the universe and Harue's place in its power. Resting one of her delicately attuned fists against the the tree, marking her target, she paid thanks.

And then with her right hand she makes the first strike. There is an excruciating pain laid over her muscle, an unopened wound beginning to blister. Was this stupid? Without thinking about the pain throbbing in her hand or the only slightly unfractured barksheet, she delivers the second blow.

This, too, is not as painless as Matsunaga had made it seem. And yet she'd seen no chakra when her sister did it, peering through the doujutsu of her family did not reveal some secret about this alleged deadly punching. It was petulant of Harue to assume she were being tricked, but the pain in her fists suggested she might. She would persevere regardless though, in the name of powerful punches.

Looking over her fingers and her knuckles, there was no blood. Perhaps they would bruise, and maybe they would begin to bleed if she kept punching (which she definitely planned to do), but so far she was pretty okay in physical repercussion. Tracing her hand over where she'd punched, she remarks how noticeably... indifferent it was to her strength. With only one punch, her sister had destroyed a tree twice this one's size.

So what was different? Harue couldn't begin to understand. Was it a displacement in her stance? She began to move her feet around and punch the tree at different angles, from different stances of the specific fighting style she was working from. To an onlooker, it would inevitably look a bit. Stupid. She was dancing around and jabbing at the tree and hooting each time it made a reverberation in her knuckles and wrist.

When finally even that offered nothing but making a fool of herself, she stepped back to analyze her situation and the tree in front of her. Was she not thinking of it properly? It could be a certain type of manifestation she wasn't enlightened enough to harness and project. Or simply she was just.. not strong enough yet. Both were plausible, she assumed. Looking to her palms and then turning her hands around, Harue flexes her fists curiously.
