Morning rolls in and Harue feels refreshed, much better than even the day before. She feels well enough to stretch the Tasukeru as soon as she wakes up, looking for her beasts. She can't read any chakra from Ōmo, but that was to be expected. He couldn't mold chakra as a beast, after all. She could, however, detect his temperature readings, as well as an X-Ray of his structure. He was outside, a little under 175 meters away from Harue, so she could see him perfectly. Her second beast, Circe, was much easier to detect. As a mythical being, she was indeed capable of molding chakra.

Thus, she had a network that Harue could read. It was a small, compact network, but not any weaker than the network of an average, smaller human. The cat was endowed for her species, at least, though Harue didn't like that the feline only referred to her chakra as 'magic.' If it were magic, Harue wouldn't be able to detect it so vividly circulating through her small body. But she supposed it was sort of the same with someone keen on the soul, as they would have soul energy readings that Harue was unknowing to. It seemed to be the one thing the Tasukeru lacked the ability to unlock.

That was fine, though, as soul energy wasn't nearly as important to the core of the mechanics of a person as the rest of them was. It was more like the green bar in a game, that usually read stamina or something else you cared considerably less about than the others. Not to say that it was a totally unneeded measure, of course. Harue focuses outwards from there, and looks for the heat readings of any other small critters in the area. Her Tasukeru seems to falter - maybe it's not for looking for animals after all. It did seem to work only, if not best, on chakra networks and the like.

Still in the comfort of her own home, among the early hours of the day, Harue continues to try and expand her mind further in succession with the Tasukeru. The further expanded her mind is, the further his vision will be. At least, that's how Matsunaga made it seem - she could only trust that her riddlistic analogies and metaphors really held some meaning after all. Maybe she should try meditating? While it seemed like a jest with herself at first, she gives it some thought and actually goes out to her courtyard. It's serene and beautiful this particular morning, which only encourages her to try this 'meditation' thing more.

It was much like concentrating soul energy, right? Or even just concentrating chakra? Meditation, that is. You sit and you think and you act without action, which was, to say the least, the basis of Harue's life lately. So she sits cross-legged in the grass just on the outside of a path, adjacent to the fountain at the center of her space. She inhales and exhales, eyes closed with her Tasukeru activated, as she sits still in her position for what seems like hours. In reality it's only a few minutes of training alone before Circe comes out curiously on all four of her dainty paws.

"What are you doing?" She asks flatly, circling Harue's back, coming out on her flank. She rubs on Harue's side before coming to stand before her, sitting on her hind legs. Harue parts an eyelid, the red glow of her iris shining from under her eyelashes as she examines Circe. With her Tasukeru activated, Harue can see the circulation of Circe's chakra. Her temperature and other readings are fairly neutral. Harue wonders if she would be able to see the particular swirl of chakra that takes place as a jutsu is being cast in that moment, but knows that Circe is not so below herself. Harue closes her eye again to resume some kind of cosmic balance. "M'meditating."

Circe lets out a harsh chortle, like a rumbling jerky purr in her throat. "You don't meditate. What are you really doing?" Harue screws up her face, but drops the tension in her position and sinks back, then lays on the grass. The anger dissipates, but her Tasukeru's soft iris light pulses as it threatens to deactivate. Harue catches it easily, able now to regulate the Tasukeru mindlessly. It really was becoming natural already, and so far it'd only been three days at most. "I'm trying to stretch my Tasukeru out." Circe seems to be pretty uninterested in the word, even though she's able to connect it to the Onigami heritage. She shrugs her long shoulderblades, licks her paw. "I've met worse," she says as she turns her rear on Harue. The pinkette tilts her head.

On her way to meet up with Matsunaga, Harue continues to try and see through her all seeing eye further. Limits can bend as long as you keep applying pressure, so Harue does just that. She keeps it regularly activated on her walk to the small shop, despite the constant and harsh pull at her chakra it creates. She tries to ignore the pit in her stomach, mark it off as hunger in the early morning, and pretends that it's nothing to do with the constant use of her chakra. Perhaps she would hurt herself if she continued like this, but Matsunaga never really mentioned that as a risky possibility to be weary of. Regardless, Harue reminds herself to perhaps cut herself some slack. After all, there was no true rush.

The Chunin exams where fairly close, but not too close that she wouldn't have enough time to train more diligently beforehand. At the very least, she'd like to be able to rely on her Tasukeru at least partly during the next Chunin exams, and if that meant she couldn't attend the chronologically closest one, then so be it. She had higher hopes for herself however, as she's already been able to see up to 200 meters in all directions at a time so far. It took some time and exhaustion, but she was starting to get a tight grip on the situation. Her palms weren't as sweaty as they were before, making for a much healthier hold on her place in the world. As she approaches the shop, she deactivates her Tasukeru and regards her new sister as warmly as she can.

When Harue comes within close proximity of Matsunaga, she notices the girl has a somewhat different air about her. While she doesn't want to press about it, it's hard to not tell that the other girl seemed now somehow... distant. Harue only tilts her head to it. "Good morning," she says slowly. Matsunaga's expression doesn't shift, and now that Harue looks closer, she can see that she's not even attentive. She's... awfully still. Harue frowns, taking a step back and worrying that maybe this is that dangerous father Matsunaga had warned her about at play. Was it an illusion? She was deathly still, save for her eyes that seemed to track Harue's movements. The lack of luminescence in Matsunaga's eyes edge her on to activate her own Tasukeru. 

It was a chakra network, for sure. But whether or not it was Matsunaga's, she couldn't tell. She opens her mouth to speak, anger and confusion etched into her expression. But she's cut off abruptly by another Matsunaga, stepping through that one and completely tearing her from this realm of existence. Harue was confused as hell, but more nervous than anything. She looks around anxiously, hoping nobody was put off by this strange display. At least the chakra network of this Matsunaga was identical to her own Matsunaga's. Harue grimaces, but Matsunaga speaks before she can think too hard. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. I just wanted to introduce you to a few other tricks I'm going to teach you."

Harue clicks her teeth, annoyed. "What's that trick, then?" Matsunaga chooses to ignore the bitterness, stepping forward and gesturing to their usual seats, their new routine. Harue slips into the seat, surprised to find that the server is already bringing their tea. Matsunaga must have ordered just before Harue got here, then. "It is Yasha Gensou." She sips her tea, then sets it down with a soft clink before turning to Harue, her eyes glowing scarlet. Her eyes were activated to match Harue's own, then. "Just as I was able to momentarily fool you, you'll be able to create the same illusions to fool other doujutsu, but hardly our own. And... you'll only be able to create the networks themselves, not the physical body as I had..."

”Why not?” Harue felt a little offended, but she didn’t know why. She tried to reserve herself, blinking slowly and inhaling deeply as Matsunaga smiles softly. She seems to correct herself, sitting up a little straighter and her eyes hooding a little lower. ”In order to create real, physical bodies alongside the chakra networks, you would need to know Kage Bunshin.” Harue opens her mouth to say something, but Matsunaga addresses it without the prompt. ”The Bunshin scroll is forbidden to Genin..” Harue blinks, sitting back a little and wondering if that meant Matsunaga was not a Genin. But Harue’s not sure that she’s a ninja at all…

Before Harue can think too much about it, Matsunaga moves on. ”It is a very useful technique even without the physical body regardless. Especially in times that your opponent’s vision is otherwise obscured, and they have to rely on their doujutsu for aid. You can strip them of control, if you’re tricky enough.” Matsunaga smiles fondly and Harue grimaces again. The more time she spent with Matsunaga, the more confused she forever felt. Matsunaga looks to her, the Tasukeru still activated. ”Anyways,

“It’s rather simple. You use only a shred of your own chakra on each figure, and you carefully construct a realistic chakra network. Perhaps you will need to study the chakra networks surrounding you to get a better feel on the molding, but ultimately it is a simple case of creative freedom.” The way Matsunaga talks about this like an artform makes Harue feel less at ease. She was terrible at art. She could barely write eligibility! She lets out a small, nervous laugh and looks around the area with her Tasukeru. She notices there’s an extra life form in the backroom. Harue narrows her eyes, then looks back to Matsunaga.

”Is that another trick?” Harue pipes up, her glowing scarlet eyes darting from Matsunaga to the back wall, where on the other side the workers were at bay. Matsnaga’s eyebrows twitch downwards, but then she lets out a shrill noise that Harue would’ve never imagined this girl making. It was simply to giddy-sounding. ”You’re good, Harue-chan!” She swoons, and Harue lets out a single hard laugh, a puff of breath. Harue’s eyes snap back to the back wall again when suddenly the fourth network vanishes. If she had really taken the time to examine it, she’s sure that she could have found the faults.

After all, Matsunaga admitted that it hardly worked against other Tasukeru. Perhaps she didn’t want her to see through them yet, or she was just having fun. Either way, Harue felt weirded out. ”If it doesn’t really work on other Tasukeru, then how will you be able to help?” Harue presses her lips together, hoping that didn’t sound somehow insensitive. Matsunaga just gives a half-bodied shrug and a cock of her head in the same direction, a gesture that read carefree understanding. Matsunaga was… opening up, or something. ”Just because it won’t fool it, doesn’t mean it won’t present itself.”

Matsunaga straightens up a bit if not only to take another sip at her tea. To seem comfortable, Harue mimics her and gulps down a few satisfyingly hot mouthfuls. ”Go ahead and give it a shot. If you have trouble, I’ll try to help further. But I have faith in you, Harue-chan.” The pinkette swallows thickly, but goes on to ‘give it a shot’ anyways. She turns her attention away from Matsunaga, to save herself from the pressure of knowing she’s being monitored, and focuses on a small area to effect. All at once, she tries to build chakra networks from the ground up.

After some trial and error and numerous upon copious numbers of failed chakra networks crumbling under her touch, Harue realizes that maybe she shouldn’t look at them as a whole. Instead, she should try to build them up one by one, at least until she could at least comfortably do a few. In fact, she might want to just work with just one figure of chakra for now, but she also wanted to work at a steadily progressive Matsunaga is suspiciously quiet throughout Harue’s training, but she can still feel the watchful eye of her Tasukeru overlooking her work. So she wasn’t totally stranded.

So, one at a time then. Harue had originally been only working three or four anyways, but apparently that was still too much as for now. The first chakra network she builds is nearly a copy of one of the chefs in the back of the shop - that’s where Harue created it as well. So she didn’t have a gap between her creation and her reference point, she built the network up steadily in allusion. Harue’s eyes, still glowing faintly in the light, dart narrowly between the two focal points of her objective. Once she got the larger chains of chakra down, it was the smaller interconnecting strands that had her stuck.

It took her some time, but after Matsunaga had finished her tea, Harue sat back in her stool and exclaimed with an upward gesture of her arms. ”Ugh!” She says, in a completely enthused way. ”That shouldn’t have been so hard!” Matsunaga doesn’t say anything, and instead only nods her head slightly as she adjusts herself, peering fully into the back room. She finds the stationary chakra network easily, Harue can tell that much by the point of view her eyes take. Harue feels eerily the same as when she was young and in the academy, waiting for teachers to grade her test scores.

It’s not long before Matsunaga nods gently, sitting back in her stool. Her Tasukeru deactivates, and so Harue follows suit. Despite mourning the loss of her carefully crafted creation, Harue was ecstatic to be learning. After they’ve ordered something small to eat, Matsunaga addresses a different angle. ”You recreated a chakra network rather well,” she says, setting her fresh cup of tea down. The steam plumes over the side of her face as she rests heavily on her elbow. ”Now I want you to recreate your own.”

”My own?” Harue parrots, as if that’s a daunting thing to ask for. Matsunaga gives an affirmative nod, then turns to her tea. She stirs it idly with a silver spoon, holding it loosely by the end of the handle. ”Yes, or mine. An Onigami’s, is what I’m getting at. While you can’t create the particular chakra networks of other kekkei genkai, you can certainly recreate your own. It’s of your own chakra, after all.” Matsunaga smiles, sitting back slightly. The constant sound of her spoon clinking as she stirs has grown unnecessarily repetitive. Harue inhales deeply through her nose to ground herself, still listening intently.

”You noticed that my chakra network was different from the recreation of myself I made, didn’t you? It’s because I didn’t reassemble my own chakra network, but instead a random one. I wasn’t aiming to really fool you into believing it was me. But…” Matsunaga’s head tilts one way, and then the other, as she gathers coherent words. ”If you’re in a situation where you need to conceal yourself, and someone is specifically targetting you… it comes in handy to know how to apply this.”

It’s not long until Harue is exceeding Matsunaga's expectations, but not her own. Even though she can eventually create her own chakra in a form, only one however, she still can't produce masses of these fake illusions at a time. She still had to create them one at a time, tediously and meticulously, like building towers the size of ants. It wasn't the most fun she's had in creative projects, but at least it was an art she was at least moderately good at. So far. 

She continues trying anyways, reminding herself endlessly that in times where she needs to be fast and strategic, she won't have time to build from one to two and so on, she'd have to do it all at once. She hoped her Tasukeru would be powerful enough, afraid that maybe she just wasn't apt with it like Matsunaga believed her to be, but the purple haired woman offered no disencouragement. Just silent patience. Then again, she also didn't offer much support. Harue was struggling against herself to make this work.

After an even longer amount of time, time that is stretching on too long in the span of short bursts, Harue can at least replicate two at a time. She divides her attention among the two creations, which only makes her feel the tiniest bit more stressed. Would she have to divide her attention five, ten, thirty different ways at a time to make this work? She supposed the Tasukeru was, in a way, expanding her mind. Did that mean it was going to swell other abilities as well? Namely, the ability to erect a lot of networks at a time.

To divide her attention evenly among each personal network she creates is tedious, perhaps much more so than doing them one at a time somehow, but much easier once she gets the actual hang of it. She hisses at herself through clenched teeth once she finally bring ten up all together at once, the chakra networks slowly rising from a somewhat crouched-esque position, essentially rising from the ground in a manner. To her and Matsunaga's eyes, they knew better, but to doujutsus that would otherwise see it, it was pretty convincing.

Harue was at twelve when she really started getting the hand of it. Applying the same process to two as to one was simple, and going up by even variables was the best way for her to rack her numbers up. Although it was slow, she started a process of raising two at a time until she's met 15, and then releases them all and waits a moment. Like catching your breath after running really hard, Harue begins again once she feels the familiar course of healthy chakra in her veins. Even still, it was draining however, so she didn't have much time to waste on resting regardless.

Once she'd reached 15 by raising two at a time, she repeated the process again, but this time in sets of threes. Dividing her attention slowly like this, expanding in steps, was making her feel a lot better at what she was doing. But that was a fleeting, constantly fluctuating feeling, especially balanced on top of her few errors here and there. A few of the networks as she raises them in sets of three come up jumbled, too close together, and even merged. She works more at it, until she can raise at least five all together at a time. While she couldn't seem to raise too many at a time, her max seemed to be 15 so far.

After some time, Harue decides to call it a night with Matsunaga. That doesn't mean training by herself was out of the question however, and on her walk home she kept her Tasukeru active to continue to try and stretch it further, reach ranges that sound great to her own ears. She inhales deeply, trying to keep her eyes as consciously active as she can even during her jog. She works to watch her surroundings both up close and far away, surveying within her range of view and watching for obstacles at the same time.

It was about expanding her mind still, and she was sure that would help in the long run with creating more fake chakra networks. That, she was sure of. The stronger her eye got, the stronger she would be in the dabbles of techniques accompanying her family doujutsu. Her walk home is a particularly lonely one like all other days, living in a secluded area brought that kind of life traffic about anyways. It was nice not to see too many people around the one hundred and fifty meters immediate to her home.

Not much more than animals. And, of course, she could sense her own animals as she approaches her home. It's nothing new, their thermal readings and Circe's chakra network were practically burned into her brain at this point. At least that made them incredibly recognizable to her, and it meant she couldn't be fooled by haphazard replications of her two companions. Hopefully that would go the same for other people who she was close to once she could read their own lifesigns.

Harue had cut her meeting with Matsunaga shorter than usual because she wanted some time to train on her own, and if she had trained into the night like usual her doujutsu would have drained too much of her chakra. With enough chakra left to continue throughout the rest of the evening, Harue is aimless aside from peering endlessly though her Tasukeru. It doesn't even make her head feel like it's swimming through fog anymore when she looks past the original fifty meters that gave her so much trouble.

She took a moment to wonder just how far out she'd be able to see in due time if she kept training at this rate. How far could he see again? 400, 500, 600 meters? Was there no end? Curiously, Harue tries to zoom into the world around her far outside of her own set boundaries, stretching her Tasukeru and dragging it out a couple of hundred meters all in one moment. It feels like a life time crammed into one moment, like an explosion of herself outwards and she can see everything passing under her forever.

But then she's pulled back too hard and slammed back into her body, and for a moment she feels like she's messing with her soul and not the doujutsu of the Onigami. She gasps, her chakra completely drained and her bones feeling heavy. She'd seen pretty far out, she can't calculate the exact meters since it was mere seconds though. But she knows she went far out, but she also knows now that pushing the limits like that is consequential.

Sluggish the next morning, she knows she's perhaps stretched the Tasukeru a bit too much when she'd try to see further than she was technically capable of the night prior. It was possible of course to get to the same high numbers, but at her own pace. She couldn't push herself out like that so suddenly. It was irritating, to say the least, that she'd have to spend so much time with this. How long had it been already? A few days? A week? Somewhere in between, probably.

Still, she doesn't want to stop training. She keeps her Tasukeru deactivated on her walk to the small tea shop where Matsunaga is either waiting or would be waited on. Once she's within one hundred meters of their rendezvous spot, she activates the doujutsu to scan for her sister Onigami. Her chakra was distinct, and being the only other Onigami Harue knew, it would undoubtedly be Matsunaga if she did see the familiar chakra waves. 

Scanning ahead, Harue can see just outside of the peripheral of her established one hundred and fifty meters of life. Ahead of her approximately one hundred and eighty meters away was the familiar reading of Matsunaga. The specific pulse and waves of her chakra through her joints and points, matched with soft color compared to the color of other chakras, was conclusive to her. So they were both walking still, both rather close. It was like a race, if Harue was bothered enough to try and beat the other girl there.

As she continues her walk forward, Harue considers how likely it is that Matsunaga is viewing her all the same from. It would depend on whether or not her Tasukeru was activated, obviously, but Harue didn't really know if there was a way to figure that out. There... must be. It was reasonable to say that chakra network waves and flows would tweak according to usage. Just like Harue would potentially see the drain a jutsu has on someone's chakra pool, she must be able to decipher the usage and activation of things that would drain said energy.

It was different from soul energy, Harue knew that much. She couldn't see soul energy with the Tasukeru, at least she didn't think so - if she had viewed it previously, she was unaware of it. Unkeen to it. Same way that she was potentially unkneen to any other kekkei genkai she comes into contact with unless she knows why their chakra looks the way it does. There was no looking at someone and reading the name of their family heritage in small print on veins of their networks.

All this internal monologuing had brought Harue exceptionally close to their meeting spot, though still just outside of it. Peering through her Tasukeru, she finds that Matsunaga is standing still now, presumably against the tea stand. Harue smiles softly to herself and deactivates her Tasukeru, wondering if Matsunaga would be able to know given her own Tasukeru was activated.
