Tranquil.

The only word that could describe the peaceful presence of the surrounding area, for not even the simple hum of a blue bird could be heard throughout the canvas. A rather nice day; the rays of the sun shone down brightly upon gaia, giving fuel needed for the surrounding plants to survive. The field, covered in grass, although the broad trees stood firm throughout the plan, mixed and mashed to fit the portrait perfectly. A small lake, located a short distance aways, home to the many sea creatures that sustained their life within its depthy wetness. Fish, frogs, water bugs- all rested within, living and progressing in life as if they were little dangers to behold. Birds flew ahead, those of prey and those of scavengers, constantly involved in the struggle to rule the skies. Vultures, eagles, perhaps falcons as well; all pairs of wings existed within the sky, giving little to no ground for the other creatures to stumble upon. A peaceful scenery indeed , perfect if one wanted to home their skills.

There were little things here to disturb one if they decided to train or simply rest. On the other hand however, it held more than enough different elements for one to use, making this the ideal training spot. A legend perhaps - heard of by many; but known by a few.

[Katon: Daitou (Fire Element: Longsword)

Skill: NinJutsu
Effect: The user concentrates their chakra along the palm of their hands. As the user does so they are capable of creating a longsword like weapon made out of fire out of the palm of their hand.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: This technique tends to burn the user's hands and is only capable of staying out for two rounds with a five round rest before the hands suffer great damage. For each round the user keeps the fire Blade out past the two rounds the user is unable to use that hand for ten rounds.
Description: The user creates a large blade made out of fire along the palm of their hands. The user does so by creating a few handseals and holds their hands near their body. Doing so the user takes in a deep breathe and begins to blow out the air towards the palm of his hands. As the user does so they blow in a straight line away from the user as the fire begins to formulate around the palm of the hand creating the large blade. This technique is capable of being used as a quick defensive style move, or may be used as a split offensive slashing attack.

Time Lapse; 24 hours.

I would return the next day, my chakra fully replenished although I was a bit on the tired side. I had spent countless hours the night before arguing with my mother about me learning Katon techniques instead of training in the arts of the Kikkawa. I had told her (the first time ever) that I needed to stay true to my heritage and so should she. A look of shock overtook her as the words were released from my mouth, shot forth and delivered rather sharply. I could never forget the face of my mother that day, for all I could do was think about it; Even in my sleep I dreamt about it. I found nothing wrong in learning techniques that my birth clan had specialized in. I knew not why my mother feared revealing her heritage so, but it seemed to urn strong within here.

Although I didn’t relish the fact on revealing that I was an Uchiha, I didn’t deny who I was; I was not like her. I loved her dearly, she was my princess, my angel, my guide throughout life, but even sometimes guides were wrong. I could not figure what her problem was; I had learned techniques of the Kikawwa, but yet she still resented me learning these fire techniques. Perhaps it was the idea that what the killers did to my father, I would do to someone else, but I was not like that. I loved to fight, but I hesitated to kill for no purpose. I hadn’t killed once before in my life and as long as my life was not threatened, I did not plan on taking another’s. She fought, but realizing I would need to fend for myself one day, she would hand me a scroll.

My mother had graced me with a challenge; if I was to learn this technique within a day, she would allow me to continue learning these savage techniques - but if I were to fail, I would have to erase the thought of Katon from my mind, and focus on our new family’s techniques. She said if I were to succeed, it would mean I had the potential to progress hen and where I wanted, meaning I could learn what I pleased.

“Katon: Daitou [Fire Element: Longsword]”

I was shocked once I read the name of the techniques I was supposed to learn within a day - a B rank at that. Surely, such a high level Katon Ninjutsu would take me a considerable amount of time to learn and she tasked me with conquering its difficulty within the short amount of time of twenty-four hours. I was no fool; mother had picked this technique knowing that it would be nay impossible for me to learn it within a day. Oh , how blind she was. I was no longer the insignificant little boy I was so many years ago; I had grown extensively, along with my pools of chakra and my ability to adapt (a trait of my clan) to any challenge that was given before me. It wouldn’t be easy, but I would not give my mother the satisfaction of saying , “I told you so” in the end; I would triumph.

I could not wait to see my mother’s face once I won this bet and so, I would not waste time with my idle muses and thoughts and as quickly as I grabbed the scroll from her hands would I unravel it. My onyx orbs laced the paper parchment from top to bottom, bottom to top, absorbing and analyzing every letter, every detail, every word that existed upon the scroll, ultimately adding more knowledge to my figure. Many of the hand seals were similar to the Goukakyou and Housenka, although slightly different. The one hand seal that remained consistent throughout the three was the tiger, commonly associated with Katon techniques. The feline seal was the most famous among the Uchiha, once the most powerful clan amongst the shinobi world.

My digits carefully flipped through the exotic formation of the seals that would allow me to harness the energy I needed for the long sword. I would be sure to focus on implanting them with my membrane (rather than performing them with accuracy) so I would have their encryptions remembered for my later trials. This would be useful in increasing my speed and skill with the seals, ultimately allowing me to perform them with he skill that I did the Goukakyou. Adapting to the seals wasn’t hard at all; I always had the ability o adapt to situations that I wasn’t used to and this was no different. It wouldn’t be long before I could perform the hand seals as if I had been practicing them for days. Although I wasn’t perfectly comfortable with them, I was satisfied enough to move on.

Comfortable with my progress thus far, I would begin to incorporate my chakra into the cycle of seals. Without hesitance the first seal was formed; my fingers weaved in and out of each other, creating the perfect creation, just like that upon the scroll. The next would be created, and then another, my hands seemed to reanimate the beasts upon the scripture perfectly, or so I had thought. In the brief second that I had performed the fourth seal, I had twitched and my hand stumbled. I recovered quickly thought, but I knew that it would seemingly reduce the effectiveness of the technique. I tried my best to make-up for it, even adding an extra seal in, hoping that the mistake would not hinder its effectiveness. I was a fool to think so, but I was on a short time limit; I needed to try whatever I could.

Although laced with errors, the hand seal formation as complete. I knew not how to continue from this step; I could feel the chakra bubbling within me but I knew not what to do with it. It didn’t seem like this technique would be utilized in the same way as the Goukakyou (cupping hand over mouth and blowing) so I would attempt to bring my chakra to fruition along my palm. Although this was not the way, I could feel the shifting temperatures of the air around me; the friction made by the air and my chakra mixing together forming heat around my palm. I tried and tried but I could not expand upon the chakra/heat mixture upon my palm and before long, I would find myself having to release the technique. Merely this had taken a good portion of my chakra way; luckily, I had much more time.

[2nd Post.]

A Failure.

In truth, there was n way that I could lie and say that I was not displeased. I had made one too many mistakes on my last attempt and I could feel a portion of my chakra gone. Performing the make-up seal and adding extra chakra into the mix had caused even more difficulty than what was needed. In truth, there was only myself to blame. Before it as my mother’s will for me to train, but I had grown accustomed to it. It seemed as if when I was training for myself, I lacked the determination to push myself to my full potential but when I trained for Mother, there was naught an obstacle in the world that I could not overcome. Even when she gave me a choice of training for the day or simply relaxing, I would choose the first. I was content on making her happy no matter the price, but what about me? I deserved the right to be happy as well? Right?

Before I would continue, I would scan over the scrolls countenance once more, for something had seemed wrong on my last attempt. Usually I would be able to harness the chakra within a certain limb of my body and expand on it, but on that attempt it had left me in failure, feeble and weak. I had to read over the scroll a third time to find my error. I couldn’t believe that I had missed it when in truth the thought ha passed my mind once before. The technique was supposed to be performed like that of the Goukakyou, except one wasn’t to blow out flames, but instead air. After realizing my mistake, it was inevitable that I had been the cause of my failure. It mattered not, for now that I knew my mistake I would know how to go about this technique and considering my timing, I held the advantage.

Along with the first seal’s completion, the multitude off tenketsu points throughout my body would open their gates, allowing my chakra to flow through as if it were sealed away for years and finally released. I would do little to stop its flow; I would simply shift its target location into my hands as I continued with the seal formation. The molding of the seals were improved as my digits carefully danced throughout the multiple figures of beasts that were to be molded. Upon my arrival at the Tiger hand seal, my chakra would re-locate itself into my epicenter before flowing up through my esophagus. I would be careful not to ignite the chakra as it exited my mouth, or else I would hold a third degree burn upon my hand. Like a snake slithering throughout the terrain, the chakra slowly exited my throat and raising my right hand I would blow outward (after taking in the crisp air around me; the human lungs truly were amazing). Mother would surely regret putting this bet on the table.

I could feel the difference between this attempt and my last; I could feel the difference in the air and my chakra. In the palm of my hand the chakra and the air would meet. As if they were ingredients to some type of poultice, the two would begin to stir together. Releasing chakra from the pores upon my palm, I could feel the two mixing, creating the friction that I held felt before; although this was more - concentrated. I could do naught but feel exited as the energy flowed around my palm; the heat (like always) burned with an intensity. I knew that this time around would be completely different from the last; I felt the power to manipulate and bring forth the flames from the materials that flowed around my palm. An image of my father had popped up in my mind, and I felt…different.

The heat; a direct result of my chakra - the techniques becoming that much more clearer to me. I would begin to manipulate the heat upon my hand via my will, concentrating upon a focal point (my finger) of my hand as to allow me to focus where I would center the combustion, allowing the flames that I would bring forth to devour the massive amount of air focused around me. It felt awkward; the temperature of my plan rose with each second that passed by. Merely moments would pass before I could see the slight hints of reds and oranges about my palm and like a might dragon, a flame would burst forth from my palm. Sadly, it would be about the size of a long needle (focused on my index finger). I guess one could call such a mighty blade, but in my eyes it was far from what I needed for mother to accept. I watched it glow upon my finger.

Although successful in creating the flame, the blade was no where powerful enough.

[3rd Post.]

No doubt my previous attempt was the best that I’ve done thus far, for not only was I able to correct nearly half of my mistakes, but I also managed to produce a flame that was the length of my finger. Although nowhere near powerful enough to cause a significant amount of damage, the simple fact that I had managed to create the flame and focus it around my finger signified that I had the skill the successfully master this technique. It had only been about an hour since I started, making it around eleven o’ clock am. I still had plenty of time (12+ hours) before I would need to report to Mother about my progress within this technique. Around two - o’ clock am would be the time that would decide whether my mother would allow me to continue to dabble in my clan’s heritage or take up that of the Kikkawa. I liked the wood techniques, but I did the fire as well.

Unlike last time, I would begin this trial a bit different, accessing and utilizing my chakra in a more abrasive way. By amassing such a large quantity of my energy (instead of controlling its flow), I would be able to produce a larger flame than before. Hence forth, producing such a large amount of chakra would cause me to separate the two, sending one stream into my epicenter where it would wait alongside my lungs; the other being sent into my palm as it awaited the crisp air that I planned to exhale. If all went well, the two (chakra and air) would reunite and form into one, hopefully giving birth to the flame I had created once before, although hopefully it would be a larger amount.

More or less I would begin the long series of hand seals that would allow me to harness the raw energy I would need to produce my flame. Although I focused intently on performing them with perfect accuracy (perhaps I should’ve been more calm), I found myself stumbling upon more than one seal. I knew not the cause; I could only assume that I had focused too much - but was that even possible? I knew not the answer at the time, but I would come to know in soon enough. Unlike the ones that I somehow stumbled upon, the feline (tiger) hand seal was crafted perfectly; the final seal of all Katon based attacks. If it weren’t for me bringing forth the cat nearly perfectly, perhaps the ending result of this attempt wouldn’t have been what it was and so; I thank myself and my blood for allowing me to perform the seal as if I created myself; a true master.

Parting while one curled, and the other located about my side, my digits would carefully craft the last of the seals needed. Although I didn’t think it was necessary, I would swing my head back and inhale, puffing up my cheeks and expanding my chest as the air filled my lungs. Within my lungs, I could feel the air ripen and that was when I would throw my head forward, exhaling the gathered air I had managed to collect via the use of my lungs. In a single breath I would unleash the air ( a mass amount) into the air before, bringing my palm up as if to meet the air at a designated location, gripping the quantity of the air by its neck. With my grip firm upon the air, I would continue with the process.

The chakra within my palm seemed to seep out calmly and in moderation, increasing the natural friction magnificently, enough to generate the heat needed to begin this technique and bring forth the flames needed. I could feel the air slowly changing as it and my chakra continue to rub against one another; and soon it would give into the invisible essence that I managed to call forth from my inner being. I could not lie and say that I was no excited; I could basically feel the amount of flames that would be produced on thi go-round, much more than before. In my mind I could picture the flame engulfing my entire arm and then it happened - the image of my father’s burning corpse. I could do nothing but slam shut my eyes; I knew not what to do, but I felt it.

It was as if the image of my father’s corpse had brought forth the boost I needed to call upon the flames once more. Red and orange filled my view as I looked down; my hand was now completely engulfed in fire, yet I felt no harm. The amount was impressive, yes - but I would need much more than this if I was to form a long sword from it and soon, the flame would disperse into the air. A sigh would leave my mouth; I could feel the drain of learning this technique, but I would give myself one more attempt before I needed to rest.

[4th Post]

I had began to think about my progress in this technique; the fire long sword. A mere two hours had passed since I began training this technique and I was already able to conjure up an amount of flame that engulfed my hand. Although the technique was draining, I held no doubts within my mind that I would be able to finish learning this technique before the time-limit was up; surely, mother thought otherwise.

More or less, I needed to return to my training. Recently, I had conjured up enough flame to engulf my entire hand in its entirety. Surely, I was making more progress than mother thought I could; oh, why did she look down upon me? Although I had managed to create the amount of flame present, there was no way that I could create a long sword from the minuscule amount; I would need more - much more. I knew not the reason, but my determination and motivation seemed to make a leap upward, surprising even me. Adrenaline began to pump through my veins and my blood, pushing and giving me the sudden rush to continue with my training. I never envisioned myself following this path; but it seemed to be.

Excited I was, but I had no time to linger about my thoughts and once more would I find my hands dancing swiftly through the Zodiac movements. Almost as quickly as before, my hands to creating the remaining seals of the Katon technique. In order to create a larger flame, I merely decided that I would need to simply pump more chakra into the technique, therefore increasing the flame if all was to go well. Once more my fingers twitched as I performed the seals, lacking the skill of a true shinobi. I cared not for I would continue with the seals, although I was quite disappointed in myself for stumbling upon the same seal sequence three times. I knew I made mistakes - everyone did - but I had come to be frustrated with mine.

Despite my mistakes, I constantly stayed true when I reached the tiger and this time around;, I had already began dumping a rather large quantity of chakra into my desired appendages - one being my arms, and the other being my lungs. My fingers curled up ( a position accustomed to me now) as I threw my head back, inhaling as much air as I could. Not only would I need more chakra, but I would need more air and I would take in a rather large amount of air, via the use of my chakra enhanced lungs. My cheeks swelled up ripe and spherical, holding in the excess air until its release.

Once more, the air held within my lungs, throat and cheeks would be unleashed in a mass torrent of rush and haste, only to be captured by my chakra-enhanced arm at my side. Unlike the last time, my chakra reacted almost on instinct, leaping from my palm and grasping the expelled air by the plume of its neck, holding it there for only moments before a spark was created. The flesh of my palm heated intensely; this time, I could feel the difference. The chakra I’d blown out sparked, alongside the air as it went ablaze in a mass torrent of fire. The flames flickered about the air as it levitated about my palm, licking and snapping out wildly at the crisp air. This wasn’t nearly enough to forge the sword I needed, but it was enough to bring a smile to my face, one that signified the turning point in my learning; I now had resolve.

I tried my best to control it (grunting), but it proved to much for the little chakra I had left. I was able to sustain the flames life for only a couple of short moments before it would dissipate in the air once more, leaving only a crisp fiery smell to keep me company. If I could create this much even when I stumbled on multiple seals, imagine what I could do when the seals were crafted perfectly; ultimate.

[5th Post]

I would give myself well-earned twenty minute rest before I continued with my training, for I began to feel the amount of energy I was losing to the long sword. I knew that the training I was doing then was nothing compared to what other shinobi did daily, simply for honing their skills. An example of this was my father; although I was young, I could still remember watching him train such high level Ninjutsu in merely a couple days time, utilizing his new knowledge over and over again repeatedly, showing no signs of fatigue until he sun began its descent. I often wondered about the struggles he must have went through to obtain his level of strength - no matter, he was gone now.

I still kept him close at heart and even closer when I train; one could call him, my inspiration. With a good portion of my chakra returned to me, it was once again time to initiate the technique. I had grown rather accustomed to the techniques, even though I continued to stumble amongst multiple seals. There were many flaws in my most recent attempts, the most obvious being my continued errors when it came to the hand seal sequence and yet I still managed to create and harness a flame big enough to engulf my entire palm; although it was much, I still needed more and I knew just how to achieve my goal - it was time to focus upon the hand seals and completing each one near perfectly.

With my most burdening error realized, correcting it would allow me to flourish. With more focus than any attempt before, I carefully flipped through the designated hand seals to begin crafting the long sword. I tried my best to not miss a single beat, but I did; however, I had felt a sudden energy within me as I completed them without hesitation, using the memory documents within my mind that I had gathered from my numerous years within the academy. Now that I had began to care, the seals seemed almost easier than the Goukyakou, but I knew it was just my level of focus.

Even so I found a grin creeping upon my face, for once I reached the feline (tiger seal), I knew that I had achieved my goal almost perfectly. Counting the number of seals I messed up on my previous attempts, a mere ONE would do little to hinder the effectiveness of the technique. The tiger was crafted perfectly, resembling the description that I had noted on the technique’s scroll and once more would I bring the flame to fruition - the air around me just begging to be my test subjects in my little experiment- I felt success only a few paces into the future.

Who was I to deny the will of which I breathe; the oxygen was inhaled as quickly as any other. My cheeks filled up with the gracious air, pluming and succumbing to a round shape, while my chest seemingly lifted up (no doubt filled with air by now). The chakra within my figure would burst forth from my palm, radiating; if seen by the Evil Eyes my hand most likely would have looked like it was on fire with chakra, but then again that would soon be brought a reality. I exhaled the air, setting it free, only for it to be grasped by the neck by my chakra enhanced hand. As if my hand was a simple piece of flint and the air was a spark yet another flame would be created, this one much bigger than the last. In truth, I held no mere ember, but a great pyre of flame, extending up to just a little below my shoulder.

With the increase of chakra and the great progress with the seals came along the ability for the flame to keep itself stable, I would swing the pyre around a couple of times, getting a feel for the way it sliced through the air. With no blade visibly in sight, to cut anything else would prove futile, for right now all the shapeless blade could do was burn. With each attempt I inched closer and closer to success - I could almost taste it.

[6th Post.]

Due to the rest I had just taken, I still had much chakra left to continue with my learning. Having mastered the ability of summoning the flame, I would next need to learn how to shape it into what it was meant to be, a long blade, I knew not how to go about this process, so I simply assumed. If not by another way, I would simply apply an excess of chakra around the blade, shaping the pyre to my desires.

What was to be gained by simply sitting around; realizing this, I wasted no time in preparing myself for the upcoming task. With no warning, I unleashed the chakra held up within my tenketsu points. Spreading my feet shoulder width apart, I firmly planted myself along the ground, providing for an even more stable stance. As if trained for years on their own, my hands would begin to dance through the seals, each nimble digit portraying exactly what I willed, lacking hesitation but boasting in confidence. I continued until I met the last once more - the tiger - and like always, I could feel the fire of my people burning within me.

From every muscle, vein, every artery my chakra pooled outward, giving all of its entirety to me. I found myself unable to deny its welcomed gifts, gracious in nature. I guided the chakra into my desired appendages (lungs and right hand) like I had done so many times before. Almost second nature to me, my mouth flew open as my lungs went to work, sucking in the air by the masses, while my hand patiently waited to grasp its prey, radiating with the chakra I had trapped within it until the time was right. This procedure was all too common now, and I grinned at its ease.

Friction amongst my palm sparked almost instantaneously upon connecting with the chakra enhanced air, resulting in a multitude of sparks thrashing out wildly before being taken under control under the birth of the flame. The flame was full of rage and destruction, impatiently waiting to test its might against the strongest of foes. It surged like that of a god, a power unmatched; I could feel the blade influencing the air surrounding it, causing it to become more crisp and sharp. Feeding off of the oxygen around, I needed little to keep the flame maintained - all I needed focus on was crafting the shape of the blade, a feat I would obtain via pumping out more chakra.

From deep within my figure would I summon more chakra, sending it to my palm in hopes of using its essence to help my masterpiece; the connection between the flame and I had grown once the excess chakra entered my palm. From my appendage would the chakra seep through, finding its way into my pyre of flame, my blade of fire. The chakra would serve as a “sharpener” so to say; I would begin with the lowest of the flames, in hopes of maintaining the grand connection with the pyre. I would grit my teeth as the chkara seeped through the tips of my nimble digits, feeding itself into the flame.

Higher and higher the excess chakra crept, leaving portions of the blade that it had extended over gleaming slightly brighter than the raw flame. I would watch as the shape of a hilt would slowly come into view; the chakra moved slowly, indeed, but that would improve with practice- all I needed was to correctly shape the blade once, then I could move on from there. The handle (hilt) was all that I was able to create within the amount of time I held the blade; I had began to fill the burning and although painless at first, its intensity soon fueled. I would dismiss the flame for now, but with the creation of the hil my desire to finish the techniques took a leap.

I would try again.

[7th Post.]

Success was only a couple attempts away; coming closer and closer into my hands.

With the same nimble digits that had completed the intricate dance of zodiac myth multiple times before, I would begin to showcase my performance once again, utilizing the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the countless years I completed the seal sequence once more, accurate and without error. This dance was intriguing to me - complicated, yet simple; I knew not how to understand it.

The first hand seal was completed and along with it came a great sense of focus, one that I needed if I was to bring the shape of my creation to fruition. My fingers bent, while certain ones curled, some being tossed up toward the heavens while others directed their entirety to hell; either way, my chakra reacted in a torrent, swiveling and swirling as if it were naught but a whirlpool. How I loved to utilize my chakra, resting upon the very tips of my flesh before I would call upon its entirety, giving it the true command in which I held back exactly until the I needed I to disperse into those appendages once more.

Yet another seal came into play, followed by another, then another; the process continued and with each different seal made my chakra reacted in different ways. The time had passed for me to release the chakra from its metallic shackles, allowing it to flow into my right palm and lungs, where it would coagulate as it had done so many times before to produce the effect that I needed. With chakra reinforcing my lungs, not only was I able to take in more air, but the oxygen was slowly being infused with my chakra as it continued to enter into the fray - more and more chakra continued to pour; the flame would be magnificent.

I could not waste all my chakra upon the flame however, and upon forming the tiger hand seal would I blow the oxygen I had taken in outward, allowing the mass of air to leave my lungs be, setting it free, only to be captured by my palm. Caught by the plume of its neck the air would amass into flames. The fire brought forth from the feline (tiger) seal was incredible, more so than the amount that I had conjured up previously, for now held a column of flame within my palm. The difficulty of this techniques continued to decrease, for I found myself forming the handle and hilt of the blade almost instantly.

Although tamed more efficiently this time ‘round, the flame still burned with the same ferociousness and power it had done previously; before the fire was untamed and weak, incapable of dealing the damage it was supposed to- now it was different, tamed and powerful. Surely conjuring up a weapon made from this destructive art in the heap of battle would be a surprising advantage indeed; I wondered how my fellow gennin would fare up against a technique of this caliber, especially my Uchiha kin. I knew others of my blood dwelled within the village, for they did little to hide their name - often I wondered why I did.

In the moments to come, my chakra would continue its adventure up the entirety of the blade, making its way up the two sides of the long sword, defining the untamed flame into the shape a the sharpest edge. I could still feel the drain of course, but it was much different than the one I felt when I first began my conquest. The wild flames were simmered down, made to look like that of my katana; beyond this, the blade itself began to stabilize. I could no longer feel the burn as I held my flaming sword, although I knew it would be coming soon; I could feel the heat radiating even through the slight skin of chakra.

Moments later the blade would be complete, sculptured and crafted seemingly by a master. I knew I now held the knowledge of the flame long sword within my cerebrum, but for extra measures; I would birth the sword to life once more before I presented it to my mother - I could only imagine her surprise once she saw what I had accomplished.

[8th Post]

I needed not strain myself on my next attempt, for I now knew exactly what needed to be done in order to bring my master piece back into this world. With the amount of chakra I had left, I would only be able to perform the technique once more before I would need to rest again. Fortunately, I only intended to attempt such a feat once more for the day before I would have to present it to mother. Throughout the many steps I’ve learned throughout my quest of triumph, I would always need to start back at the beginning, the stepping stone for unleashing my flaming long sword.

Once more, I called upon the abundance on energy seeking refuge within the eternal walls of my tenketsu, allowing my chakra to flood my figure as if a great dam had been broken. As a result of this, I was blessed with an abundance of energy that I would utilize in bringing forth the blades once more. My energy continued to flow - never breaking its tide - even after it arrived at its destinations would it continue to circle, never once settling down the entire time it rested within me.

Ten nimble digits performed the intricate macabre again, allowing them to weave in and out of each other with great position, interlocking when needed, then separating only to find themselves grappling with one another once more, seemingly locked in an eternal struggle - that is until they came across that of the tiger, the last seal within the ancient sequence. In my eyes the process seemed to slow down with each seal performed, when in fact I had completed what needed to be done in only a mater of seconds -if not less.

I loved how I felt when my chakra surged within me, ferocious at best. It almost brought me to the point of which I just wanted to do battle, but I knew better. I was not the type to fight without reason; I knew fighting just for the sake of fighting would prove nothing and only bring harm to myself. I was raised up to be a non-fighter, raised to be the boy who stood up for the defenseless but praised in my own rights. Although I lacked power and strength then, I knew I would become something of a deity like my father, a god in the eyes of the beholder. The mastering of the long sword had marked the beginning of my journey, it was merely the first in a long line to come.

I always held a specialty for ninjutsu , although I never realized it; perhaps that was why I was able to bring this techniques to fruition in such a short time. Other shinobi my age often focused more on their taijutsu abilities than the art of ninjutsu, but I was never like that. Aside from this, the tiger hand seal brought along the most ferocious of chakra waves ever sent throughout my figure; utilizing my prowess within my art, I would filter the chakra into my hands and lungs, allowing their essence to enhance my most relied upon appendages when it came to the element of katon.

One - first I inhaled the air around me, allowing my cheeks and chest ripen as I inhaled; soon after I would release the air within my lungs. Swinging my arm forward, once again would I catch it and ignite it into the flaming sword I trained so hard to create. Surprisingly, the sword was already forged within my hand; the hilt, the blade, the handle, all of it. I stared down at the blaze of glory in awe, for expecting the flames to come out a blade was beyond my expectations. It mattered not, the blade was formed - what else was there to do?

Test it.

In truth, what was a blade useful for if it didn’t cut. I would swing the blade (like I would a normal katana) multiple times before I would make my way forward toward a tree. Mixing in evasive tactics, I would continue to swing my blade as it scratched the trunk of a tree. I knew not the true damage of this blade so I had to continue; continuously would I continue to swing, each swing becoming more deadly, enhanced with strength more and more until I could see a large portion of the white plating underneath the rough exterior of the bark. I began to fill the burn and knowing I would have to release the blade soon, I swung one last time, colliding with the tree before my flames dispersed.

I was weary indeed, but triumphant as well - I could not wait to show mother.

Gouken no Kamae (Iron fist stance)

Description: Not exactly a technique, but a fighting style. It packs tons of speed and power and relies on the user's physical strength and fitness. It is also the prime holder of the majority of Konoha's elite taijutsu techniques. Standing with one arm behind their back and one extended, the user is ready for a quick strick with their fists and feet. This leaves them open for quick spins and jumps that will power their attacks.

In truth, I had always wondered how I would fare in a fight once it came down to straight up Taijutsu, for throughout my many training sessions I had never once dedicated one of them to the art of fighting hand-to-hand. Not only that, but mother and friends has gave off the impression that Ninjutsu was all that a shinobi would need; perhaps not, but not have I heard them speak of the art of taijutsu once since I’ve been able to comprehend their words. They were mainly focused on the arts of the Kikkawa, the art of manipulating and bending the wood around to do their bidding. In many of the spars I’ve witnessed involving my mother, not once did she use her hands except when she opted to use her ninjutsu.

Mother was surely impressed with my triumph over the flame long sword, however she had wanted train me specially from now on.

It is for that reason why I have never really thought about learning the proper way of utilizing taijutsu, seeing as how I could simply rely on my elemental based techniques to win me a fight, which in turn was why I was surprised when Mother told me that we would be training without the use of ninjutsu today. We distanced ourselves from out safe hold, arriving in a great flushing looking field, full of grass and generous with trees and bushes; regardless, we still had many a space to practice and hone our techniques, free of distractions and obstacles in our way - void of organic life (besides us and the birds above and the insects stalking).

“This series of techniques is from our home village, Konohagakure, and is used by the most elite taijutsu users within the shinobi ranks; coming only second to the Hyuuga clan’s gentle fist style. You can call it the Iron fist.”

I listened to her words intently as she enlightened me a bit about the style that I would be learning. I had heard of the iron Fist style in many of the books and tales that I had read about Konohagakure, how it enables the user tons of speed and power than what they were used to. In truth, I had never thought mother would even tell me of such things, seeing as how she held great hate for the village, or perhaps I was wrong. Maybe she just didn’t want to be reminded of the horrors of the Uchiha massacre - who truly did? It was a night that would never be forgotten, no matter how many tried to pry it from their database of memories.

I watched as she lowered her body intently, her maximum height dropping several inches as her body crept ever so slowly toward the ground. In two simple - but graceful - motions, Mother would slide her right arm behind her while bringing her left to the front; combined with her legs (which were about shoulder width apart), her balance was extraordinary to say the least. Her glared pierced my very being - I knew not why she stared at me with such eyes; perhaps she saw something in me that reminded me of the horrors of he- our past. It mattered not, at the time, for I needed not her instruction to mimic her stance- I could see it within her visage.

As if I was already blessed with the curse that came along with the blood in my veins, my body lowered just as her had. My legs had slid and shifted along the ground, crunching the ever constant grass underneath their might. Lower and lower my body crept until I found myself a little lower than my mother, for due to out differences in height I had needed to convert the proportions to match. I extended my right arm outward just as she had done, followed by my left; it felt rather uncomfortable at first but I quickly became used to it- I was after all the descendent of an adaptive clan. My glare met my mothers, bringing a smile to her beautiful tender face; it was as if all things in the world faded away and only her and me were left- oh how that smile could keep me alive forever.

A nod from Mother would confirm that my stance was sufficient enough but I knew we weren’t done- we wouldn’t have traveled out her if we were.

I should have known better than to let my thoughts slipped when I was under the tutelage of my mother. She had always been the type to surprise me when it came down to things; my little “seperation” from the real world would cost me dearly, for my world would soon be engulfed within a chaotic cycle of pain. Thinking of her smile, I would feel a rather hard kick upon the left side of my cheek. The force from the blow was enough to rear my head to the right while still crying enough strength to send my whole figure soaring backward - mother was truly no joke.

“That was called the Dainamikki Entori (Dynamic Entry). It is a simple forward jump kick to the opponents face. To effectively learn something, you must defend against it. Prepare yourself, son.”

Yet another surprise thrown my way but I could not let it deteriorate my focus, or else I would be in another state of pain. I retreated back into the Gouken stance, spreading my feet and positioning my arms in their proper places. I intently watched my mother, watching for any quick motions that she could have made. I knew very well the greatness of her speed and it kind of scared me to fare up against it, but I had to - this had been the first time Mother trained me in something other than Kikkawa techniques - I had to prove myself.

Surprisingly, she had not used the speed she had used before in her spars against others of my family; I was easily able to keep up with her movements and track her accordingly. My muscles tensed as I watched her figure proceed toward me, her ebony hair hanging low to her back, dangling within the air. Her form held a rather graceful stance to it, one that I would adopt and make as my own as time went on. I waited until her figure was only meters away from me before I reacted, initiating my defense.

I simply would move my forward-most (left) hand upward in an attempt to grab her leg. At the speed she was moving I knew I would be successful and once I made contact, I would bring my free (right) hand forward as well, gripping her ankle as I twisted my form around, letting go as I gracefully performed a one-eighty, sending her figure soaring through the air. Like a cat, my mother would always land on her feet, flipping in the air as if she rode upon the air waves herself.

“Good; now you try.”

I knew that this moment would be coming soon, hence why I hesitated not when she spoke the words to me, entering my graceful Goken stance almost instantly after the words pierced my ear. I crept as low to the ground as I could (while still feeling comfortable) before I would initiate my run. One leg after another carried me to my destination before it was my turn to make the leap. As graceful as a kitten would I ascend into the air, outstretching my leg as I had witnessed mother do only moments before. It felt good to soar through the air, but I would soon find my glide interrupted, mother had deflected my kick in the same manner I had hers.

I felt my body take a jerking twist as I was flung through the air; luckily, I was agile and was able to place my hand upon the ground, flipping myself up on my feet before colliding with the ground. In truth, I hated taking injuries, and even more being dirty. As if teasing me, mother would give me the signal to come, provoking me into performing the technique again. I had no problem with that, for each time I attempted I gained more knowledge in the process - for in truth, there was no such thing as failure.

Casual as ever would I rush forward, releasing the metallic locks upon my muscles as I utilized them to leap into the air only feet away from my mother. I had increased my speed and added graceful moves into the mix but mother was much more experienced than me, I knew not what would happen, all I could do was hope for the best as I soared through the air once more, performing the Dainamikku-Entori

It would only be a couple of hours before Mother came seeking me, declaring that her business had been finished and that we could continue. The lesson began with a refresher of the Gouken stance, as well as the first technique I learned within the fighting style, the Dynamic entry, a simple jump kick made to an opponents face with the hope of sending them soaring back. I had become sufficient in the technique in only short while. It was rather simple to use, especially since I had seen mother complete the technique before I.

“The next technique is Konoha reppu, a spinning kick made to the opponents feet, hoping to loosen their balance - watch.”- mother.

Like she had done with the Dynamic Entry, she would once again allow her body to sink toward the ground, outstretching her arms so that they struck out from her body like they were supposed. Her feet would slide amongst the ground, separating apart, allowing her the increased speed and strength that the stance gave. I would enter my stance as well, readying myself to defend against the Queen’s attack; little did I know it wouldn’t be easy as the last.

With my body in tow, I would signal to mother that I was ready. In an instant, her figure would dissapear just as it had done on the first attempt. I knew not where to defend, but I remembered her explanation of the technique; “spinning kick made to the opponents legs”. Thinking this I readied myself to make a leap into the air, knowing that her attack destination would be at my legs. How easy - I thought- and just when the thought rushed into my mind, I would feel the power behind my mother’s blow.

My feet had almost left the ground before her blow connected. The power behind it was enough to cause me to flip multiple times within the air. Unlike last time, I was unable to use my athletic ability to help me land, and I fell upon the ground face first. The pain soared through my figure quickly, a slight surge, but little pain like this would do little to actually harm me. I would stand moments later, entering my stance once more. I hated getting hit, I would be sure not to let it happen again.

Mother seemed to be enjoying this; her smile was great, but she seemed to be mocking me. Within my stance, I would signal mother once more, but I would give her no time to act upon the sign, for before she had been able to move an inch, I would disappear, appearing in front of her via the use of the body flicker. I would use the momentum from the technique to drop my body low to the ground, spinning as I still held the energy from the body flicker, outstretching my legs as my body continued to turn - I knew I had her.

I had spun a complete three-sixty, but I had felt no contact with any physical substance. I knew not how it was possible for her to avoid my attack; the only conclusion I could come to was the simple fact that she was more experienced within battle than me, having over twenty years under her belt while I just began to train within the arts of the ninja. Even moments later I still could not locate mother, but I had a weird feeling.

From the corner of my eye would my mother’s figure come back into view. From the angle at which I saw her, I knew not the action that she was completing but I would take a leap into the air, propelling myself backwards as I did so. Fortunately, I had managed to dodge her attack and land safely upon the ground, yet another nudge from mother and I would charge forth, attacking once more, becoming more attune within Gouken No Kame with each technique I learned.

I was advancing quickly.

Douyou Kobushi (Shaking Fist)

Description: Upon striking the opponent, one makes their fist vibrate slightly before impact to do more damage than a regular punch could do. This punch’s secret is in the vibration causing the internal organs to be vibrated/shocked. They bump around due to the movement and damage is caused.

Almost as easily as her legs allowed her movement would Mother dodge my attack, bringing a fist downward upon my figure before I had the chance to return to my true stature. I would push the blow aside with my hand, dodging her blow for now. She landed a few feet away, instantly assuming the gouken stance, waiting for me to rise. I felt a little weird lying upon the ground defenseless, so I would rise, quicker than normal via the use of a flip.

By the time I positioned my feet upon the ground once more, I could feel my mother’s fist on my chest. I was frozen as I felt the pain sour through my upper body; the blow hadn’t seemed like regular punch- I knew not what to call it. It was as if my mother had done something to her hand before the blow connected. Unfortunately, only being attacked with it once wouldn’t allow me to figure it out and so, I would brush myself off and back away, falling into my stance as Mother copied my motions.

There would be no signal this time, and I found myself gasping when Mother began her charge. Her kill with her legs allowed her to traverse the distance between us rather quickly, faster than I thought. The first blow was easily dodged by me, simply leaning to the side as her punch flew by my face. After the dodged blow, my gaze would quickly shift over to my mother’s free hand as it glided toward me, and before I was struck I thought I noticed a quick motion upon her hand - a shake almost.

Unable to dodge the blow, I was struck upon the side of my arm and I couldn’t help but gasp in pain as the feeling shot through my body, leaving my arm numb for a couple of seconds. Watching her form disappear once more, I would back step a couple of feet, only to be struck within my chest once more from her quivering fist. Fortunately, she had attacked me from the front flank, allowing me to watch her hand as it flew toward me, and once more I would notice the quiver once more.

-That has to be it.-

The thought ran through my mind as I stumbled back, bringing my arm up in defense of another one of my mother’s blows. This time, however, I would slap her fist away, avoiding the stunning pain her hand had brought. My parry had left her unbalanced and before she could move, I would throw my fist forward, attempting the quick vibration motion before I made contact with her chest. I knew not the timing when I threw that first punch and surprisingly, my punch like a “pillow”, or so my mother put it.

“Shake your fist just as you are about to connect.”

Mother’s words would ring through my ears as I parried another of her blows. I was still unsure of the timing, but I would vibrate my fist inches away from her chest. Almost with know effort would she bring her palm up to block my strike, but as the two collided, I could tell her hand was in pain, seeing how she gritted her teeth as the two opposed each other. Later on she would inform me that she felt a slight numbness when she had blocked my strike, but that would be hours from then.

For now, we would continue. I watched intently on her movements, observing every last movement she made and how her body flowed - watching, waiting for my chance to strike. And then it came, almost as quick as a lightning bolt would her hand collide with my chest, pushing me back, allowing me to use the momentum to parry her next strike, of which after I would throw my own forward, connecting seconds after I had shaken my fist. She would stumble back upon her heels, speaking as she regained her composure.

“Good, Naga.”

It was true,; I had been advancing rather quickly within the art of the Gouken No Kmae, capturing the basic concept behind many of the form’s simplest techniques in mere hours. Although they were far from being mastered, a little practice would bring absolution into my palm, as if it was a gift received on my birthday. With each technique learned, I felt as if I grew more and more like my father everyday; like he had done the many times he allowed me to watch him train, I had conquered many techniques within a short amount of time, although these techniques could be considered child’s play to the ones he devoted himself to.

“I will only show you this once, for I have to go, we will continue another time. This technique is called Konoha Senpu, a kick supposed to send your target into the air, leaving them open for another strike.”

I listened in anticipation of seeing the technique demonstrated, for this style sparked an unknown interest within me. Back on subject, Mother’s body slumped into her stance - elegant and graceful as ever - and began to rock back and forth, shifting between standing on her left hell and right. In a quick burst of speed, her countenance would be on the move, dashing across the grass like a predator after its prey. Meters away, her form would drop lower, spinning like that of the Konoha reppu technique; the only difference was that mother threw her leg upward as the spin was completed. She would remain in that position, allowing me to imprint the image into my mind.

Standing up, she would blow me a kiss before her figure disappeared into the wind - allowing its breeze to carry her away.

I would return the kiss into naught but air as she disappeared, but dropping into my stance soon after; standing, I thrusted both my feet into gaia below, sliding them along the grassy surface until they were positioned correctly (shoulder-width apart). Spreading my arms, I would slouch lower and lower until I resembled mother’s stance, rocking back and forth once I managed to capture my goal. Swaying from left to right, my body would become more adaptive toward the quick and fluid strikes that my stance offered and wit the passing time of five minutes, I would dash forward, following my mother’s steps.

My body would swoop low, spinning it around in a similar manner that I had done with the Konoha Reppu, outstretching my leg and pointing it upward. The blow would connect with the trunk of a tree, shaking it violently. Leaping back onto my feet, I would separate myself from the tree a few paces before diving back in, allowing my body to circle around once more. I had great control on my spin - using my dominant hand for support, I would spin without much care, bringing up my foot just as I had reached the one-eighty mark. Once more would my foot collide with the hardened wood, releasing a chunk of its wooden armor from its mighty form.

I knew not if my technique was satisfactory, for my mother had left a while ago, leaving me to train alone. Regardless, the technique would be brought to fruition many more times before the day had ended, and besides its mighty trunk would a multitude of leaves rest -the many that had fell of from the damage caused by my many blows.
