Coal had managed to dispel the illusion long before the sunlight did a thing, having stabbed himself in the leg, the pain would have broken the weak trick. That seemed to be the gist of the situation, as explained in the mission parameters; tricks. Some of them were more real than others, though, and to his defenseless mind against Genjutsu, it was going to be tough going. But he would make it, now that he had that open wound. Pressing that would send the pain shooting through his body, and hopefully dispel the weaker illusions, while logical thought should get him through the tougher ones; he hoped. That patient that they had helped was trembling now, pointing like the hand of death, shaking as if his body was the origin of an earthquake.
“So you’re the one, are you?”
Just what the hell? His voice was slow, he raised a hand to his throat as if to check it like a medical ninja, but he noticed that it moved slowly as well. She was slow, that patient was slow, his teammates were slow, even the air felt slow. Just how was this happening right now? Wait, it must have been when he looked at her, that must have been when she placed him in the Genjutsu. That could only mean that he had to be looking at her when he entered, right? That seemed fairly logical under the circumstances. He did not know much about Genjutsu, but he did know that it needed some kind of sense contact, that commonly being the eyes. Too late to turn around, should this be a Genjutsu, but why did his mind register it as such? Of course! Because he was so fast, that this could not be real! It felt like ice shattered off of his mind, falling to the floor, breaking around his feet. Everything felt normal again.
While his comrades would have to deal with their problem in their own individual ways, he had an objective to complete, and he would complete it before he taught that red haired b***h a lesson. Turning on his heel as if that woman was unimportant, he began to walk at a normal pace toward the patient, grabbing the man by the back of the collar. Even while he trembled, Coal began to walk down the hall; he would have to find a different way out than the front door. There had to be a window or a backdoor around this dark place somewhere, right?
“Hurry up and follow when you all are ready.”
What an arrogant bastard Coal was, but he would not be separated from the others, stopping at the mouth of the hallway and waiting for the rest.
