Hana Ninpou: Ame no Hana (Flower Ninja Art: Rain of Flowers)
Rank: D Rank
Skill: Ninjutsu
Effect: Causes a great number of flower petals to ascend into the sky, and then begin to gently float downwards.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: The technique has no offensive value. Weak to fire.
Description: An ability that is meant to be used mostly as a distraction. Performing the handseals, the user will cause a great number of flower petals to ascend into the air, creating a 'cloud' of flower petals about fifteen meters in diameter within the air. The petals will then begin to casually descend down the sky, and is mostly used in order to force the opponent's attention to the sky so that the user can attack from the ground. If the attack is ignored, other Hanakora techniques may be utilized from the cloud in order to catch the opponent by surprise.
Limit: Must be a member of the Hanakora Clan.

Waltzing up to the renovation site for the Clan and Bloodlimit Facility, Mikio whistled lowly while taking in the sight. It wasn't all that bad, but it was clear that it was definitely in need of a makeover, which he had decided to help with. Entering the building, it became apparent that it looked even worse on the inside, but he was pretty sure that's what he had been assigned to fix. Speaking with the person leading the project, he found out that he was to start with painting the walls, so he went off on his own to do just that. The bird that was usually with him had been left outside, he knew that Gilligan wouldn't like being indoors for the time that this would take.
Entering one of the rooms, which was indistinguishable because of the sheer lack of things in it, he put down the paint can and brush that had been given to him. Kneeling down, he pried the lid off and dipped the paintbrush inside, wiping the excess paint on the edge of the can. In the moment that his brush touched the wall, Mikio noticed something: this was going to be boring as hell. Letting out an agitated sigh, he continued to his tedious task. Even using his super speedy ninja skills, it took way too long in his opinion. By the time he had finished with one of the walls, the paint was still wet and a thought crossed his mind: the single color was too boring.
Deciding that he should fix the little dilemma, he went through a few ideas before landing on one in particular. Pulling a bag of the famed Hanakora seed out of his pouch, he scattered them across the bare ground and made multi-colored daisies pop up. Smiling at the bright colors, he picked up and handful of them and threw them at the wall, nodding in satisfaction as they stuck to the surface. His grin quickly turned to a frown though, the area that he had covered seemed infinitesimal when compared to the rest of the wall.
Recalling a technique that he had once seen one of his relatives using, a light bulb went off above his head. If he could make the flowers all shoot up into the air at the same time while they're next to the wall, then they should stick to it. It worked well enough in theory for him to give it a try, it wasn't like they'd suddenly explode on him, right? Figuring that he may as well try it out, he vividly pictured the handseals that they had preformed in his mind before doing it himself. Channeling an amount of chakra into the jutsu that he believed would be sufficient, he simply sat back and waited after landing on the last seal, waiting for the flowers to shoot up into the air.
However, they hadn't done what he had expected, at least not to the extent that he wished for. The daisies only raised a couple of feet from the ground, a small portion of them sticking to the wall while the rest fell pitifully to the ground. Mikio let out an irritated sigh and was about to re-do the technique when he noticed something; the paint had barely been wet enough for the others to stay on, any more likely wouldn't stay on there. Frowning, he figured that he'd just paint another wall, then try it again and hopefully bring more color to the blank room.
Mikio still found painting the walls to be boring despite the speed at which he did it, he thought it to be too slow. Once the second wall of the room was shining in a new coat, the boy set down more seeds to make flowers, he didn't feel like moving the others over. Once the multi-colored daises were grown, he repeated the same handseals as before, this time putting a bit more energy into them. The plants were launched into the air this time, easily making it to the ceiling, although they did slam into the barrier above him. A grin appeared on his face as he watched a large percentage of them stick to the paint, enough for him to be satisfied with the added color.
'So, the amount of chakra put into the technique affects the height it reaches. Hmm, I wonder if I'd be able to get it precise enough to go just as tall as the ceiling.' Making quick work of painting one of the two remaining walls, not minding it as much this time around because he was focused on how much he should put into the jutsu. Once finished, Mikio preformed the increasingly familiar hand seals and carefully put a select amount of chakra into it. How much he put in was mostly based on theory and guesses, but he figured that the best way to test it was through trial and error.
Watching the flowers ascend, the young shinobi couldn't stop a small smile from forming on his lips as he noted that they had achieved the distance that he was aiming for. Almost all of the daisies had stuck to the wall and that seemed to be the icing on the cake; success plus color equaled one happy ninja. While whistling a nameless tune, Mikio joyfully painted the final wall; he had just finished when the leader of the project entered the room. The red head could have sworn that there was steam blowing out of their ears, they yelled at him to take down all of the flowers from the walls and stomped off to somewhere unknown.
The ninja frowned at their request, his mood ruined by their words. Figuring that he should do as he was told even if he didn't want to, he tore down all of his beautiful flowers. While repainting the walls because of the voids the daises had created, he thought over what would have happened to the flowers if he had left them up. Figuring that they likely would have died, it probably wasn't that bad for him to remove them. The brown that they'd change to would be attractive anyway, even a solid color would be better than that. Once he had finished up repainting the third wall, he gathered up all of the flowers and put them in a nearby garbage, the scent of rotting food and flowers making a rather disgusting mixture.
