Backing up with measured steps, Uesugi mentally pictured the angle of his body as trying to calculate how everything would piece together until he was finally too excited to see how he would fair in developing this technique. His feet were light on the ground as he again broke towards the tree and performed an agile back flip delivering first one kick driving upwards with his left as he leaned back. Then maintaining the momentum of the run he half spun in the air delivering an upwards kick a little lower on the trunks as he began to fall back towards the ground. Quickly shifting his weight so that his legs reached the ground before his head, Uesugi managed to plop his feet firmly onto the ground without losing an ounce of the kinetic energy that he had built up. Without taking much time to calculate his positioning between the tree and himself he threw a solid uppercut at the wooden surface sending vibrations all the way to the top branches. Leaves danced in small plays as they fluttered to the ground all around the pleased Kenchu. It hadn’t gone exactly as he had expected it, but he was glad that he was able to keep the momentum channeling from one movement to another.
“Phew…” he sighed wiping away a bead of sweat.
Now that he had gone through it successfully once he needed to do it again to be sure that he could replicate the movement and to make sure that there weren’t any more efficient ways to perform. Pacing his breathing as he stepped away from the trunk once more Uesugi waited a moment before counting off a few numbers silently before sprinting towards the trunk again. A wooshing sound was heard as the air rushed through his clothing and hair, sending leaves spiraling annoyingly towards his eyes. None of it fazed the boy as he executed his backwards flip in perfect form and delivered a concentrated upwards windmill into the tree causing it to shake from the ferocity of the attack. Then doing a half spin in mid-air while planting his hands upon the ground for support this time; a minor improvement in his opinion since it served to add more power to the second kick. With his hand on the ground he was able to deliver a more effective second kick despite it being lower on the truck still before he quickly rotated himself into a standing-crouched position on the ground with his body facing parallel to the truck beside him.
“WHOOAHH!” he yelled as he belted out a vicious uppercut with his left hand into the tree for the finishing move.
The tree shook vigorously each time that Kenchu had hit it and the boy was now panting lightly from the exhilarating effort. Using his shirt he cleaned away the salty sweat that littered his face and looked back up at the tree to see that most of the leaves had fallen off. He wasn’t sure if it was because of his attacks or just because a lot of the leaves had fallen off before he had assaulted the massive example of plant life. Brushing the thought aside he readied himself to try it once more before using a more versatile training target; after all if he used this in combat it wouldn’t be on a tree that wasn’t going to move away from him when he struck it.
“Huuu…” he breathed expelling the slight exhaustion that tugged at him.
Again he went flying at the tree executing his well thought out combo without a hitch this time and no variation from the previous attempt resulting in a powerful finishing uppercut which he was sure would send the opponents hovering in the air no matter how heavy they were. His hands and feet were a bit sore from striking the tree so many times and light was breaking over the horizon, but he wanted to try getting the technique down so that he could surprise the man in the morning when they did their daily sparring session.
