{Flashback Training}
Yutaka's father was a strong man. He often carried many weapons. His father was sleeping so Yutaka decided to fidget with some of his fathers pouches. He lifted a big bag. It was full of kunai and a katana. Yutaka was relatively unintrested in the weapons. He was amazed by the stitching of the bag.

At this time Yutaka's babysitter had shown him some tools so Yutaka knew what supplies were used in crafting. He started fidgeting with the stitching. He wiggled one thread out, a relatively uunimportant one that held a clasp on. He carefully attached the thread to his thin needle and tied it tightly.

He found that sewing was dificult. He knew that making pouches mostly required larger thread, so this wouldn't of been a huge problem. He managed to wriggle the needle threw the fabric and began going in and out. He was careful to keep the needle away from himself. He didn't want his parents to know he was learning the 'fine art of crafting'.

Yutaka woke early the next morning. He was excited to recieve some materials from is babysitter. Yutaka had been promised these supplies a couple days ago. He was confident they would be in his house this day.

When Yutaka had his materials he began to work. His babysitter brought plans for a Rope Loader pouch. His baby sitter had put together parts of it, all but the fabric. When he noticed Yutaka's clumsy hand the babysitter handed him a new sheet a fabric and told him to praatice cutting.

Yutaka tried to cut the fabric at every angle imaginable. He tried circles and right angles and 45s, all of them were pretty sharp. He knew angles from learning the sword as a child. Yutaka had much trouble with 270 degrees, though it wasn't a praticle angle so he skipped to 315 degrees which weren't that hard for some reasons.

When Yutaka finished the fabric looked as if someone had attacked it with a Kunai.
If he would succed this Yutaka's babysitter would name him a craftsman.

Yutaka took A seperate piece of fabric and began to cut a small rectangle. He took a blank scroll and measured it. He made a rectangle just a little bit biger than the scroll. He laid the piece to the side and took out a new piece. He wrapped the piece around most of the scroll. He marked the fabric with ink.

After Yutaka had finished measuring his second piece od fabric he began cutting. He cut slowly. Most people would be frustrated with how slow he was moving. He was maticulous enough to keep the edges straight, not jagged. When he reached the first corner he took a deep breath. He twisted the knife. Gently, to make a sharp corner. He reapeted this until he had a green rectangle of cloth.

After this, he put the scroll on the first rectangle. He took the second piece and layed it over the scroll. Then he began to slowly attatch the front section to the back with moderately strong thread. He made wide sew swooping stitches. "The Single Scroll pouch doesn't need to be watertight, just scroll-tight." Yutaka joked to himself.

After this he made a small hole in a remaining flap of fabric. He inserted a clip in the whole, he wanted the pouch to close tight so the scroll wouldn't fall out. He made a tiny pin hole in the main pouch so the clip could go through. He made sure the little clip mechanism worked smoothly. It was a little dificult to do, so he made the hole wider. After this it worked fine.

He attached aa small band of fabric to the back so you could fashion int somewhere. proudh of himself, he decided to add a personal touch. With small blue thread, he decided to stitch the Takinin symbol into the bottom of the pouch. No harm done, considering he never would be able to sell it without his parents figuring it out.

Suiton no Jutsu (Water Release Skill)

Yutaka was done remebering. He went to his babysitter and kindly reuested Ninjutsu lessons. Daisuke was a master of water release so that was what they settled on.

Within minutes Daisuke had Yutakasitting on the floor a couple feet away from himself. There was a bowl of water inbetween them. Daisuke had him focus carefully on the water. They waited five whole minutes. Yutaka focussed in on the details: the water slightly reflected his and daisuke's faces. It was clear and the layer on top looked like a thin layer of glass. The floorboard shook a little bit from the wind and the water shifted. It was resilient and no drops broke the surface. It just moved as it was. After this Yutaka thought he had a good idea of what water is.

"Imagine all the ways you know water. Think about all of its diffrent locations. You have seen the caves, haven't you?" Daisuke said in a tone almost as smooth as the water in the bowl. He clearly refrenced the caves outside the village.

The caves outside the village. Where the water trickles from the cave ceiling. Where the water trickles and forms small indents in the cave floor. Where the indents become standing pools. Where the long lasting pools form with other lowspots to form a flow. Where the streams move to clifts where the water falls. The waterfalls that give Taki no Kuni it's name. The waterfalls that creates a mist that is ominous as well as soft. The mist that hides. The streams that flow. The drips that carve. These are water. Yutaka thought that he had developed true understanding of water.

"You will now 'understand' water, by your book. I have a diffrent book. This is your chakra." Daisuke picked up a small bit of clay and plopped it into the water. It make a small insignificant splash and sent ripples through out the bowl. It was minisclue. Meaningless. Daisuke fished out the clay. Daisuke add som clay and shaped the clay like a boat. "Add more chakra to yourself and get better at controlling it and..." Daisuke dropped the clay in and it floated "... you do something. Don't Excpect tidal waves or fish made of water yet. Expect moving water. Splashing it. Just focus on it. Focus on what it looked like when I put the clay in it.

Yutaka obediently gazed at the bowl. He foucced on the bowl. He slowly added thoughts of splashes and ripple effects to his head. First he imagine the small splash. He thought about how it only managed to move a couple drops of water. When he focused back on the bowl the water was rippling. Daisuke looked at Yutaka. This was a look of pleasure.

"Don't get cocky. Water doesn't take lightly to over confidence. Water isn't just streams. It isn't just mist and waterfalls. Water is storms. Water may be a saver of life. It is also a taker of it. It is the double bladed-no triple bladed sword that is wiedled in front of your, as well as your friend's, heart." Daisuke took on a concerned look.

"Now you must imagine storm. This storm will have no wind; saving that for a later date. Just a downpour. A flood. The stuff that washes out the foundations of houses. The kind of thingthat is life-taking not saving." Daisuke continued to speak softly , yet now he spoke viscously.

The storm. Rain falls and falls. Straight down with pelting force, this is no force to be reckoned with. This would hurt to be hit by. It isn't hail. It is like the larges waterfalls. Large drops that strike like blunt kunais. More like a smoke grenade explosive power splatters and removes vision. Once it gets going floods become a danger. Some water will drain, not enought to keep it from washing around and destorying buildings. Anyone still outside would be drowned.

"I think I understand Daisuke. I think I understand the storm."
"Good Yabuto. Now something you know better. The waterfall. I shouldn't have to explain this one."
Daisuke didn't. Yutaka understood waterfalls.
The king of all waterfalls. Yutaka had given this name to a waterfall he had seen on his way from Seisu. I was huge. It appeared to be the sky coming down as water. It had the pounding forceTo carve stone. That is why the stones were so damaged. They were rubble under the might of the waterfall. Water and gravity. A simple yet deadly combinations. The power can break skulls of helmets. It could destroy. If it could be moved it could probably crush Takigakure.
Yutaka understood the lifetaker.

"Now think of mist, and how it obsures view. Think of how impossible it is to see the deepest parts of the deepest pools. Water is also the obscurer." Daisuke said, now in a mystic tone.

The deepest of mist when your own nose is your horizon. When you could be snuck up on. When you are surronded with a cloud that can be felt but is not solid or liquid. When there could be people only meters away and you wouldn't know. Water can seperate people, put them in a universe of their own. Mist can be caused by the force of the waterfall. The blindness is as scary as the power. The mist which hides normal things like trees. The mist that makes normal shadow look like things from the deepest corners of your imagination. The mist that is as terrifiying as many of the best genjutsu. The mist that is as effective as a smoke grenade. Mist is what happens when water breaks and is in the air. Mist is the terrifying fragment of water.

"Good Yutaka, your understanding of mist is top-otch. You also must understand that water bends light. Distorts images." Daisuke said mysteriously.

Distortion of images. Your target isn't where it appears. A blunt stike might still hit. The accurate senbon never will. When something isn't where it appears you begin to dought other things you know to be true. Water the obscurer is also water the mind shuffler.

“Now Yutaka the third branch of water. The life-saver.”
The value of water. Without it many would die of thirst. Not just many, all. Water is a vital to human life. As well as drinking it takes water to wash out wound. Water is cleanslyness that keeps disease and infection from destroying all life. Water is provider to plants which are providers for animals and humans. Follow any cycle of life and you will find water. Its natural uses aren’t all. Steam is relaxing. Hot baths are relaxing. Water gives people the relaxation they need to heal properly. Water and muscle relaxants are the only ture ways to relax muscles. Water is also vital to herbs. It allows us to make liquid mixtures which make healing easier. Water is also a gathering point. Animals go to water. It seem more like life-taker, but animals knoe to hunt near water. All must go to water. For hunters water is a hunting spot. For others it provides the plants they eat. Water is food. Water is the focal point of all life.
“Good Yutaka you appear to know the theory. All you need is a good meditation. After lunch.” Daisuke said.
During lunch Yutaka couldn’t help but look at the water he was drinking differently.
After lunch Daisuke lead Yutaka to a small waterfall. Daisuke sat underneath it and so did Yutaka. They let the mist spray them. They allowed the water to soak through their clothes. Daisuke waited until they were both entirely soaked.
Once they were coated in water they got away from the waterfall. Daisuke focused his chakra into the water. It shifted around. Yutaka decided to try and imitate this. He focused his chakra into the water. It sat relatively still. Yutaka remembered how he was taught. The water shifts without breaking surface. As more shifting is added small bits move away. In this case two beads can from to one bigger one. These thoughts made his chakra more focused and the water began to shake.

Suiton: Mizutsume no Jutsu (Water Style: Water Claw Technique)

Effect: Causes pressurized water to wrap around the users hand, forming a claw.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: None.
Description: Creates a claw around the users hand which is pressurized and will allow te user to cut with their "bare" hands. Acts as if it were metal, as the water is both highly pressurized and infused with chakra. Lasts two posts, cannot form handseals whith the claw "on".
Limit: Must know Suiton no Jutsu (Water Release). Must have a water source.

Yutaka returned to the little waterfall. He was determined to learn a water technique. He decided to start with something offensive. He would need some form of fighting potential if he were to be a ninja. In a flier he had found in a recycling bin. It was labeled “Release Me! Water Style”. It was a list of a couple of ninjutsu. It was a little wet from the magazine’s previous owner but it didn’t affect the ink much.

Looking to Suiton: Mizutsume no jutsu. He looked at the description and decided this would give him some fighting potential. It apparently gave his hand the strength of metal. Going through the intricate series of handseals, he attempted to rush. The water in the spring just shifted. Calming his self down he, he began to think about the hard erosive part of water. The small drips from the cave ceiling. Drop after drop they carve the floor beneath them. Thousands of drops of water break the immovable. When water comes together it becomes an offensive force. Water is the true force of destruction.
By pulling together his thoughts with his chakra he began to form the suggestion of a blob of water around his hand. He dipped his hand into the water and pulled it out The blob was harder but still indefinite. He let the water drop back into the stream. Yutaka decided to try again The unstoppable rain. The force that pummels down and doesn’t stop. The force that floods and drowns. The force that feels like a solid wall falling down on you. Water is a force. He thought of this repeatedly and then began going through the handseals. He went through them carefully. He didn’t wasn’t to screw up on something as easy as handseals.
Yutaka plunged his hand into the water. He pulled it out and there was a layer stuck over his skin. He imagined his chakra coming out of his hand and pushing the water out. Once his hand took the shape of a claw he willed it to be sharp. He imagined the outmost layer being only one molecule of water thick. Once it sharpened he ran over to some tall grass and began slashing. At first he just wiggled the grass, so he put more effort into the sharpness of the claw. He imagined a Inuzuka claws. He wanted his claw to look just like those. Once it took shape he slashed at the grass. It cut but the jutsu wore off. Apparently it had been twelve seconds.
Unhappy that his jutsu hadn’t been pushed to the max, he dunked his hands under water and repeated the handseals. He was beginning to get good at this jutsu but he wasn’t satisfied. He allowed his chakra to bring in a huge amount of water and compress it.. He felt like he might reach his hand under pure water pressure. Once he gathered the water he would yank his hand out of the water and dash over a fallen log. He would immediately slash at it as many times as possible. When the water fell away as a puddle in the ground, he decided to check his results.

“Eights sets of gouges. Three per set. 24 slash marks.” That would make this particular person dead. That is if it was a person.

Oboro Bunshin no Jutsu (Mist Clone Skill)

Effect: Allows a user to create clones out of Mist.

Description: A technique which creates clones with the properties of mist. Although the clones are unable to inflict damage on an opponent, any physical attacks attempted on them pass right through. Depending on the user's class level is dependent on how well and how much the user is capable of performing at one given time. If the user is "D" Class they are capable of performing four Clones at once. If the user is "C" Class they are capable of performing eight clones at once. If the user is "B" Class they are capable of performing sixteen clones at once. If the user is "A" Class they are capable of performing thirty two clones at once. If the user is "S" Class they are capable of performing sixty four clones at once. If the user is to be considered a non NinJutsu specialist the number is reduced by two for every class level that the user becomes, and if the user is a NinJutsu Master the number increases by two for every class level they become.
Limit: Water Release

Excited at his success, Yutaka decided to try another jutsu. He read aaround the pamphlet for something packing more punch. Maybe something that would work with his Genjutsu? He glanced around until he found the technique he wanted. He found the “Mist Clones Technique.”

He glanced at the pamphlet. The description made it seem like genjutsu. He might as well try it. He went through the movements. What happened was… interesting. If that looks like me, I seriously need to consider a makeover. The image before him was a oblong blob about four feet tall. It didn’t even appear to be entirely mist. He found his mistake. A simple handseal mistake had messed up his jutsu and used a ton of chakra.

Water has many forms it can chose to take. One of it’s most powerful forms can be considered the least powerful. Mist, the obscurer, has destroyed many ships. It has brough urgent travels to a halt. It has disoriented travelers, forcing them to die in the wilderness. Now it shall disorient by taking a human shape. Mist will flow to the borders of where it can reach. You do not need to mold the mist. Them ist will mold itself, simply keep yourself as a barrier.

Once Yutaka had given his self some focus on water, he considred the handseals. He quickly formed one seal after another. As he did so, he repeated his earlier thoughts with new vigor. He closed his eyes imagining his own shape. He closed his eyes to invision where he wanted his chakra to be. He focused hard as he finished the sequence of handseals. He made sure all his fingers were in perfect position. He was careful not to miss a single movement. He put his hands in the last position and opened his eyes.

Before him were two clones. One appeared perfect. He checked by looking at his ref;ection in a nearby puddle. The other one was more of a suggestion. It appeared to be mist, not flesh. It was approximately the correct shape. It just had no apparent color or texture. He considered using his Genjutsu to fix that, but decided that it would ruin the point of training Ninjutsu.

Water causes rainbows. Rainbows are one of the most amazing examples of color in our world. They reflect all the light. Were they not caused by light bouncing off wateer? The small particles of water hang around in the air, a form of mist. The reflect the light into fascinating colors. They sort out the colors by length of the rays of light. if the water forms correctly in a clone, my chakra will only have to guide the lihgt into colors, not create colors. If my chakra bouncing the water around can do so with enough precision, I will not need to use any mind tricks or make my own light! [/i[

My brain is in the Jutsu. Now let’s put my body in with it. I execute my handseals with surgical precision. There were no hesitations. I have nothing to worry about. My practice so far has gone okay. Third time’s the charm. There is no way I am going to fail. Water is a force that is underneath my control. It flows through me like my chakra. I am in charge.

In my arrogance I didn’t bother considering the ‘obscurer.’ I was shear cocky. I executed my handseals well. That was the extent of my praise-worthy behavior for this repetition. When I finished the jutsu, the water rose up as mist and surrounded me. I couldn’t see anything. I put my face in front of my face. I couldn’t see it until it was about a centimeter from my face. This was bad.

Then I went through the jutsu again. The mist swirled into four spheres. When my jutsu finished they started to take shape. They formed. I repeated the jutsu one more time. The mist formed tightly. The four bodies gained color. I established an image of a rainbow in my mind. I began to take away the shades I didn’t need. Once Iwas down I had reds and skin tones in addition to some other colors. In my mind I contorted the image to the shape of a human. I allowed this mental image to flow into my chakra.

As I imagined the crude image of myself. I looked around at the clones. Color flowed into them. They became good replicas. I looked for the flaws in erach one. I went back to my mental image and fixed my mistakes. I added golden buttons to one of my clones. I gave eyelashes to all of them. I made there boots rounder. I added brown laces to the boots. I opened my eyes again and washed the changes happen. Once they finished, they were perfect. Temporary though. The clones faded. I found the effect too short. It didn’t last.

Same Technique

I now need I sustainable technique. I decided to make one clone and see how long I can make it live. I went through the growingly easier process of the handseals. It was easier every repetition. I closed my eyes in the final sequence and imagined water. I thought about water refracting the light I needed. I even throw in some color I learned how to do in Genjutsu training.


When the clone appeared in front of me it had only minor kinks. I worked out the discoloration in my eyes. I shortened my neck and lengthened my knees. At this point these were becoming remedial tasks. Things I could breeze right through. I held my chakra in the clone. I left my chakra flowing in the same steady pattern. I lessened up my chakra a little bit. I wasn't making the clone use taijutsu or anything.

I sat down and held my chakra. I fumbled with my concentration and for a split second vibrations flowed through my clone. Thats what happens when I accidental dump too much chakra into the simple technique. As I watched my motionless and monotonous dopleganger stood there. I grow bored and a yawn comes form my mouth. During that short uncontrolable period I acidently give some slack with my chakra. Water droplets fall off the clone. i catch myself before the clone can deteriorate any further.

I begin to grow tired. It takes more of a strain on my chakra to maintain this technique. I continue to reamin diligent. I realize that I naturally have been aking the clone blink. I stop that. I just maintaion the technique. As a littlebit more time passes I grow weaker. I let some of the details drain away. I hold that as long as I can. When i become weaker I surrender all color. I keep my clone as a dense cloud of mist. This clone grows less dense and less dense until it dispels entirely.


I give myself a moment of rest. I lie down and allow the mist from the waterfall to over take me. It feels refreshing tolet water overtake me. This nice and cool feeling makes me think once more about water. Water is a powerful force. Only when It doesn't give up. Water's power is in reptitive action. The river must flow over a rock many times before it is smoothed down. Many raindrops are required to wash away a cubic inch of dirt. The only thing that makes erosion happen is that it happens. It continues reptitively. Water takes strength from numbers. The time ispent thinking has given me enough to time to get more chakra flowing through my body.

I decide to work on the simplest art of the clone. As I produce a clone I focus my chakra on his face. The handseals now are at the rapid standard one would look for in one skilled in Genjutsu. I hold my final handseal until the clones face appears to become desner in comparisio nto the rest of the body. That will make the face easier to sculpt. i begin to mold the face into the percise shape I see reflected in a quiet puddle nearby.

Seeing the high-quality likeness of my face I begin to channel chakra deep int othe cloud of msit that is my face. I begin to pull bits of chakra above the eyes downward. I also focused my refracture light into the new layer of mist I am adding to the eyes. When I focus hard on the eyes the clone appears to blink. As I move my chakra through the arms Ibring them up. I clench the chakra in the fingers int the shape of fists. I continue the simple process of making trhe person blink. I make him do simple things. I allow my chakra to become like bones in the center of the msit. I bring the hands up and clench them to gether. I rearange the fingers one by one. once I finish I have the tiger handseal. I move it to rat. Then I activate my ventrilloquism. I begin to speak through my clone.

"Water Tornado!" I allow the 'bones' in the clones lips to imitate my own. I open my clone's mouth wide on the 'wa'. I bring the lips int oa more natural position for the 'ter'. I do something similar only I open my clone's lips wif=der for the 'tor'. For the 'Na' I open my mouth mor vertically. For 'do' my mouth forms a perfect circle.
