A Team Reunion? [Ryuuto's Team Only]

In the square of town there are several benches. Two seasons ago there was a team meeting. An acidental meeting of a couple of ninja from the village of Takigakure. It had been in the cold frost bitten square of Takigakure. That frost bitten aquare now wwas warm and plesant in the summer breezer. But where is the Team?

The town square has a smal lfountain in the middle of it. Around it there are wooden benches with metal rests for the arms of the poeple at the end. People are walking in and out of the square. there are no shinbobi to be seen. Not a single one.

Not until the young medic Yutaka Shinoto walked in.


I strayed int othe town aquare. I looked around, searching for the team I agreed to be part of. I haven't even seen the Takikage recently. You'd think a small little village couldn't avoid having us meet. Yet I still can't find the Hyuuga or the man with the wolf. I remeber the dog enjoying playing eith my bolas. I wonder if the dog is stil alive. I hadn't made a good reputation with my fellow shinobi, but still. I wasn't that bad, was I?

I walk over to the founatain and activate my jutsu. I throw a little bit of water int othe air. I look my mist clone in the eyes. "You're my only team, aren't you?" I ask him. I don't expect him to respond. Unless I used ventriloquism on him. That might be pushing my insanity a little bit.

Description: A technique which creates clones with the properties of mist. Although the clones are unable to inflict damage on an opponent, any physical attacks attempted on them pass right through. Depending on the user's class level is dependent on how well and how much the user is capable of performing at one given time. If the user is "D" Class they are capable of performing four Clones at once. If the user is "C" Class they are capable of performing eight clones at once. If the user is "B" Class they are capable of performing sixteen clones at once. If the user is "A" Class they are capable of performing thirty two clones at once. If the user is "S" Class they are capable of performing sixty four clones at once. If the user is to be considered a non NinJutsu specialist the number is reduced by two for every class level that the user becomes, and if the user is a NinJutsu Master the number increases by two for every class level they become.

[Wolf of the Falls]

"C'mon Hime you slug!" I called back to my wolf racing through the village with her trying out my new skates or Air Treks as known by other shinobi. She growled and tried to lunge at me but I grabbed a pole and let momentum swing me around and with a simple bend and push of my legs I jumped over her and into the village square landing perfectly on the back of a bench grinding along the steel frame.

I grinned at my wolf before looking forward and saw my teammate! "Yuta!" I called and jumped off the bench I was grinding to glomp him... and failed to notice the other Yuta. I grabbed a hold of what appeared to be a mist clone from the way it poofed and I sailed straight into the fountain full of cool summer water with my wolf laying on the ground, dry, on her back, and looking like she was laughing her ass off. Many people stared in shock at the giant burst of water. And I did it all while the wheels on my skates kept spinning.

"Glub-lub-lub GLUB!" (Son-of-a BITCH!) I proclaimed breaking forth from the water's surface and panted laying on the edge of the fountain, soaked and rubbing my bumped head. I saw Yuta again and grinned at him. "Hey partner~"

As I was looking my double in the eyes a loud noise would disturb me. I glance over my shoulder to see the Inuzuka that was on my team. He was going at me on some form of roller skates. He was racing his wolf, Hime. He was yelling his made up nickname for me as he crashed through the streets. I watched him swing around a pole as he went through the bustling streets. It looked like he was expecting my doppelganger to stop him as he was heading towards the fountain.

Except the clone was made of mist. The man tumbled into the cool water of the fountain. I lauged lightly as he appeared to curse under water. I reach out my hand for the energetic ninja. I am no expert on dogs, but I was pretty sure Hime's posture meant she was highly amused. I reached out my hand and broke out in laughter. I didn't want to make fun of my teammate, but this is just too funny to pass up. Aginst all odds I am now with a member of my team. After I help him up I would go to Hime. I would let her play with one of my bolas. She used to like that, so I wonder if she still will.

finally getting down to buisness, I take a slightly more serious (but still smiling) look. I look the Beast Master in the eyes and ask him a question. One simple question. "Have you seen the rest of the team?" I really need to figure out what the status of our team is. I haven't seen the Takikage rrecently, let alone Hugo Hyuuga. I wonder if Hugo is still alive anymore.

If the boy were to question about the new technique I would laugh and explain simply. "Water is a doctor's best friend."

I grinned and softly nipped his hand making him pull it away from me feeling comfortable in the water and having taken up more of Hime's habits. "I saw Ryuu during the outbreak but neither since then" I replied to his questions and shrugged taking my skates off and setting them to dry as Hime trotted over and nuzzled his leg wagging her tail and yipping softly having missed her friend.

Who knew a human being could be so barbaric? And an animal so civilized. It was funny friendship, those two but I smiled at them.
The ninja had snapped a my finger. Maybe it wwas normal for an Inuzuka to act like this. If it was I know one clan I don't want to join. No way could Ibe some animalistic.

The sweet wolf was nezzling my leg. She was a very inteligent wolf. I knew better then to make a prolonged eye contact, but her eyes were inteligent. Almost more-so then her ninja comapnion. Did I just refer to my team meber as a ninja companion of the wolf? Strange way this Inuzuka folk make me think.

"Yeah, not much is going on. The village is quiet. maybe our team should do something, like a ninja training drill. I haven't seen the team though. See why i was reluctant to have Ryuu as a leader." I used the guys short tongue. I have never used nicknames like that before. It feels weird, but nice. "Okay, what in the world is with the skates?"

Loose ends were hard to tie as leader. The people were scared and not depending on the ninja who cleared the village. Every single community group pointed fingers and were not taking their current safety as it is. The time had taken its toll as he hadn't seen any of his ninja in a while.

The summer had descended upon the village and people dressed accordingly the Takikage was out his usual cloak away from the summer months. His dark grey sleeveless shirt and long pants traded for a beige version. His shins continued to be covered as always. His genin he took as his team were horsing around as usual.

"Hello.." The Takikage would say causually.

I glared halfheartedly at Yuta knowing what he was thinking but shrugged it off as Hime looked up at our team-mate affectionately. "She's taken a liking to you"

I smiled looking at my wolf lay down affectionately at his feet and looked up at him as he addressed my skates. I picked them up and handed them to him letting him check the mechanisms. "They're called Air Trek, their a new type of weapon and transportation, I got a pair cause i like how unorthodox they seem."

I smiled up at him and saw our leader walking over to us dressed more for the warmth of summer then the cool of winter now. "Hey Ryuu what's up?"

I only briefly examine the weapons. I look at the boy. If he can use these he is definetly civilized. Doglike none the less. I watch our leader walk over and look at us. I have the feeling he is disapointed by our ridiculous behavior. He has reason to. I notice he is still dressed in his robes. What is with those. Then I remeber the scary mouths on his hands. I shutter as he casualy walks up to us and speaks.

"Hello, Lord Takikage sensei." I say quite formally dropping out of the beast master's shortened speech. I hand the skates back to my teamate and smile at them. They do seem quite unorthodox. I like it. "how do you fight with these?" I ask turning my attention back to the Inuzuka. Then I glance back and realise who I spoke to. "Sense! I haven't seen you anywhere. Have you seen Hugo?" I said, my emotions sinking as I realise that only Hugo wasn't here.

The two young genin were happy to see him as they hadn't seen him since the zombie infestation. At the time it wasn't appropriate to speak casually as the are now. They greeted him and Yutaka addressed him about Hugo. He knew what had befallen their comrade but explaining to the either genin proved to be tough.

"Well.." He remembered ninjahood was proof of them being considered adults for him and the young ones in front of him. Death is daily part of the ninja lifestyle, this was maybe the first time such news of a comrade was broken to them. He knelt between the two getting down the their level. "Hugo was found dead. He had taken his own life. Don't let it trouble either of you." He took a breath. "My parents died when I was your age. I lived on; I felt it was their protection that kept me going. I even ran the family business until I came to realize that they wanted me to live my own life and fulfill my goals. In the end, the dead want you to continue with your life instead of losing yourself in grief."

"Well you see the skates can build up wind pressure in the skates than fire bullets of air or allow you to do maneuvers around the battlefield." I explained to him and touching the mechanisms along the soles.

After explaining the mechanics of the skates Ryuuto started to walk over to us and sighed faintly looking grim. He knelt down next to us and put a hand on both of our shoulders. "Hugo was found dead. He had taken his own life. Don't let it trouble either of you." He took a breath. "My parents died when I was your age. I lived on; I felt it was their protection that kept me going. I even ran the family business until I came to realize that they wanted me to live my own life and fulfill my goals. In the end, the dead want you to continue with your life instead of losing yourself in grief."

My hands clinched tight, so tight my palms started to bleed from my sharp claws. "Dammit... GOD DAMMIT!!!" I yelled punching the edge of the fountain making a small crack as blood dripped from my fist and a tear fell from my eye. Hime whimpered coming over and hoping to lean on the fountain licking my face trying to make me feel better as I slowly petted her fur. "That damn coward..."

I slowly got up sitting on the edge of the fountain knowing now that this wasn't the time to be lighthearted or funny. I slowly opened my hand letting the fresh wounds bleed as Hime moved over to lick my hand cleaning it for me as I stroked her fur with my other hand. "Sorry if I scared you girl..."

"Air bullets!" I blurt out before the Takikage can speak. I am still not sure if I can trust the Inuzuka, but at least I have a respectable figure by my side. what could go wrong when I have a top-grade ninja with me? After all what kind of Takikage is a traitor? Yet Axel seems like a bright spirited youth, the trustworthy kind of person. Then I look back to my sensei.

After a long depressing talk about death Axe l get frustrated and punches the fountain. He curses, until Hime comes to comfort him. He apologizes to his dog. He pets the dog a little bit. I only slightly get upset. I don’t trust the man. I am always going to be angry He killed himself, instead of saving lives. Despicable. I hate people who do things like that. Yet it is still hard to lose a teammate. But Ryuuto’s words make me strong.

“I hate to be a jerk. But…” I can hardly bring myself to speak. We just lost then ninja within the past six months. And it hurts me, remembering his down to earth knowledge. “We need to seek out a new…” I hesitate again angry this time at the man who made promises then killed himself. “team mate.” I finally finish my sentence after many ragged breaths. Some of anger others of sorrow. Mostly anger. It would have been sad if he had died of some accident, not suicide. If he had given his life for the country, not given his life just to end it I would be mournful. I wish I was like Axel, he never is alone. "And do not worry, I have lost people as close as uncles and aunts. Even a parent. I have lost before. But is is still heavy to lose someone who could have been a friend, someone who was by my side. Someone who we were by the side of.

The inuzuka made his way slowly through the streets of the village that he served. His destination was aimed for the village square. Which was in the very middle of the village. There was a beautiful fountain there, that the shinobi used to relax around. He found the water flowing down into more liquid, very soothing. But he never enjoyed all the noise that came from the people that constantly walked by and made just too much noise for the boy to just think. That's why he usually escaped into quiet places like forests and caves, so he could be alone. He preferred to be alone so he could be left to his thoughts. The only companion he needed was his loyal companion Kouji.

It seemed that he was wanted in a team, the boy had to admit even tho he does enjoy his solitude. He did need some interaction with other human beings. He didn't want to go insane after all. As much as being on his own relaxed him, Kin always enjoyed a nice conversation with a fellow shinobi. As long as it is an intelligent conversation.

It took the boy only minutes to find his way to the fountain. There he saw three other shinobi. He was only familiar with one of them and he was the takikage. Everyone knew him, he wasn't a very modest person. Not someone that tried to hide away in his office. It seemed he enjoyed to interact with his citizens. That was also a good sign. A leader must know what his people want or else he wont last long as a leader. He must please his civilians. As the boy approached the group of people. He took a few seconds before introducing himself, and also his companion Kouji to the group of shinobi.

Each took the news differently. Axel punched the fountain injuring his own hand. Yutaka's reaction was eccentric. Caring for the team dynamic more than others sorrow.
In Ryuuto's opinion, suicide was true weakness. And it shouldn't be as pubicized as an honorable death in battle or protecting your values.

Another genin approached the group besides the few Ryuuto had known. His process of elimination identified him as Iwake, Kin; an inuzuka just like Axel. Ryuuto had no idea if they were related of even knew each other.

"Ah, Kin. How are you?" he said alerting the group to his presence.

When the boy entered the scene, it seemed that the group was in a middle of a discussion. It felt awkward just bursting into their conversation like that. So far the only person that spotted the presence of the young ninja was the takikage. Seconds after being talked to the boy gave an answer. Quiet well he told his leader. How about you sir the boys asked to be polite. Since after all he wasn't the type of person to disrespect someone that is of higher authority. As the boy waited for an answer, and also for his other team mates to recognize his existence, he scanned his team mates with a calm look.

It looked as if one of them had just injured his hand, from the blood that was on the side of the fountain made the boy think that it was a self inflicted wound. Maybe he was told some bad news or he could have just tripped and fell. It seemed that things like that were happening more often. The second shinobi didn't show much emotion at all. This made the boy curious. After Kin was finished his quick scan he would look back at the takikage.

"Yutaka that's cold he was our teammate reguardless of how he died weak or strong, I lost my parents to The Stone but I forgave it for the village" I growled faintly under my breath at him and shook my head going back to my wolf pup. It was so cold only to think of teammates as tools in a battle to get the upper hand.

"Hm?..." I looked up from Hime and saw another boy coming over with marks on his cheeks similar to mine, I had seen him around the compound but never took the initiative to talk to him. He stopped and bowed and greeted the takikage like most other people but not going much further in to it.

With Axel breaking my excuse, I broke down. My hidden emotion broke forward. Once you remind yourself of the person behind the talent you break down. He was great. I just try and think of him as a tool so I can avoid being upset. Now Axel ruined that. A few tears stream down my cheek. The spunky and skilled Hyuuga was a great ninja. And a better person. "I know Axel, I was just" I stumble out of grief."I was trying to keep myself strong. But I guess even the most beautiful flower must wilt." I have one last ditch attempt at strength. The philosphical part of me peeks through.

Seeing the Inuzuka youth walking up to us I wonder if Axel secretly knows him. Kin, I feel like I have see nhim before. He is probablhyh one of the only ninja junior to me. But does he matter? I just lost a friend. What an inconvienent time to walk in. Why not a month from now. When we have had time to get over Hugo. I can't get myself to do more then look Kin over. An Inuzuka definetly. Then I see his dog. A friend for Hime?

"I'm doing well. It feels good to be away from my desk."

Axel berated Yutaka for his insensitivity for Hugo's death. But Yutaka was just putting up a tough shell. He broke down showing his real emotions toward the situation. It was a good sign to Ryuuto that these young genin still were human. Many including himself had teetered upon that edge of humanity and being turned into a weapon.

The boy stood there waiting for someone to speak but it seamed that they were just talking about something that is a lot more interesting that a new team member. Something must have happened since the whole team was so quiet. Finally the takikage replied to the young shinobi. The returned the comment with a small smile at him. He then turned to one of his team mates who happened to be crying. What happened, this question was directed more at the takikage than the whole team. But the boy didn’t really care who answered him. Since it seemed that the whole team was upset about this one thing. What could possibly happen that could make such strong ninjas be so upset.

"Showing endearment for a friend isn't weakness and I don't blame you for trying to stay strong Yuta" I smiled faintly getting up and rubbing his back as Hime went over to nuzzle his thigh.

"What happened?" Kin asked us all but looked at Ryuuto for an answer. I took a step closer to the boy tilting my head looking at him. yep I knew him from the compound indefinitely. Hime came over to sniff the other boys dog's head checking if it was friendly.

"Our teammate committed suicide" I say quietly petting along Hime's back before leaning back against the fountain and Hime goes back to Yuta leaning against his leg gently.
