A Team Reunion? [Ryuuto's Team Only]

"The damned boy killed himself." I yell quietly. Now I am angry. Why did he take his life. He took friendship and help and wisdom away from us. He took someone who I could talk to away from me. He killed himself, why? Why kill himself. There are plenty of better ways to die. Killing yourself is just idiotic.

Then I feel warm Hime at my side. She leans on my leg and nuzzles me. I can tell she is being extra affectionate towards me because she knows I am upset. I pet the wolf a little. She is so sweet. With such wonderful things who would want to leave this world? I hand hime my slighly chewed bolas for her to play with. I odon't throw it. I love her attention and warmth where it is. Even during the summer her presence is wonderful. She doesn't seem to acknoledge the other dog. I don't care, it is nice have her here.

"Kin is right, we may mourn him, but we must continue on. look back when the wond is older and it will begin to heal. For now we should ocupy ourselves with something else.' I remind myself that even the most beautiful flower always wilts.

Ryuuto was deep in thought while Kin was told about Hugo's death. The group seemed to wallow in their own sorrows. If there was any way to lighten up this situation, Ryuuto had to lead it.

"Everyone.." He said with a long pause afterwards. "In honor of our comrade, we will celebrate his life with dinner on me." Ryuuto raised his fist in the air riling up the genin. "It is the way I would want to be remembered!"

It didn’t take long for the team to give the boy an answer. What he heard, was terrible. He wasn’t expecting to hear something like this. It seemed that everyone he met where mental strong and all knew that they had to do. Well it seemed he was wrong, some people just weren’t cut out to be a shinobi. It is a lot of pressure after all. Kin did not say anything for a few seconds. He tried to come with something that wouldn’t offend the team. I’m very sorry he said in something of a whisper, a bit louder. Even though he probably didn’t know this person, he felt as if he just lost a very close friend. It’s never easy to lose someone. Of course the boy didn’t know, since for as long as he was alive nobody he knew died yet. But he felt a grey cloud over him. He couldn’t imagine how the team mates of the young ninja that committed suicide must feel at the moment.

It seemed that the shinobi that was quiet a moment ago, was beginning to rage. Kin didn’t judge him for this, he truly felt sorry for him. He understood why he was getting mad. Committing suicide isn’t the bravest thing to do. Kin hoped that this boy had found his piece, by doing what he did. He wasn’t going to judge him either, he was probably going through a tough time.

Moments later he heard the leader of the group speak. It seemed he was trying to cheer up the team. He was trying to help them in their time of need. This didn’t affect Kin like it affected the rest. So he would feel uncomfortable to be basically robbing the takikage’s money. With all do respect, I don’t think I should attend he said, trying not to sound very rude not only towards the takikage but to his new team mates.

I looked at Yuta blinking confused. Can you say bipolar? I shook my head and smiled quietly as Hime took the bolas he gave her and laid down between us gnawing on them then nudged one of the spheres towards the other Inuzuka's dog offering to play with it. "True enough, time heals all wounds regardless of the scars"

I couldn't help but smile at our leader's charisma sounding a battle call for us to go get dinner. I shrugged and leaned down to pet Hime whenever Kin said how he didn't want to impose on our team and I thought about it for a few before smiling up at him with my red marks curving more. "No worries Kin you can join us and I'll cover our pups."

I was sorry. Once again I put a mask over my true emotion. Time should heal us though. tonight, we should celebrate his life. Without life there is no death. We should celebrate the Yin in every Yang and vice versa. this is an opurtunity to show that he was a good man.

When Axel invited the other Inuzuka I cracked a smile. Hime was starting to take to the other dog just as Axel was to Kin. Inuzukas really are doglike. I am still sad, but I now I remind myself tears will fix nothing. Only honorable ceremony shall be good to someone after death. For once I silently thank my father.

"I hate to make more metaphors, but; when a flower wilts it provides new life for the flower that comes after it." Who knew I would continously show my philisophical side. I really liked Hugo.He had so much discipline and he was friendly. I had never seen a combination like that before.

"Yes, I will come Ruuto sensei. My father taught me honor, one of the few bits I haven't abandonded is about death." I would say. I would imideatly be distracted. The dogs were sharing my weapon. When did I give the other dog premission to use my bolas?

I become curious about my mood swings. Well I am twelve. All sorts of weird things are going on in my body. What can you expect? I am most certainly normal, probably just being hit hard with puberty. I am only twelve. I wonder what the others think of my mood swings. Maybe Hugo would of had insight...

The genin were enthusiastic about his proposal. All besides Kin. It seemed he didn't want to intrude on Ryuuto's celebration. Maybe he didn't know him too well or maybe he was shy. The others persuaded him to come saying.

"If you don't want to come.. I'm making it an order." He said it with a wide grin pointing at Kin. "Kin Iwake, come enjoy dinner with us for our friend and comrade-in-arms."

I sat there quietly petting my pup as she played with Yuta's bolas quietly waiting for an answer from the younger Inuzuka not minding that he take his time. "And if you refuse a direct order from the Takikage we'll hog tie you and throw you to the serpent that lives in the waterfall" I grinned darkly all meant in good fun

Seeing Axel make light of the other ninja takingh is time I decided to cheer myself up. Anything I say stil lcontains grimness and gloom. At least I manage a laugh at Axel's joke. It would be nice to get to no Axel. I think Hime thinks so too.

"That would be no fun. Let me make him invisible to give the serpent some exceersise," My sadness breaks. AN old flower will provide life to a new flower by wilting. I look the older Inuzuka in the eye. In my eye he might notice a glimmer of joy. If he is any good at the emotions of epople. I smile at that thought.

"Come on Kin, seriously. Hugo's celebration of life and death wil lbring new life into our team. It's almost poetic." I say like it is my job to joke. Happy words and a smile from a face that is nearly crying. I notice the dogs playing. Life will always go on. It is so funny how the dogs are like their masters. Kin's dog hesitated just like Kin.

As the genin continued to persuade Kin to come along, he remembered a fine place not too far from the square. "Everyone, this way!" He would lead the group down a side street from the square. The sun was setting leaving a deep orange hue on the streets from the fading sunlight.

On this side street was a orange paper lantern in front of a set of stairs leading into a basement restaurant. The sliding door was left open leaving a short curtain embroidered with the restaurants name remained as the only barrier.

Inside, A black rug with curling orange borders and accents lined the floor of the restaurant. Round wooden tables were spread out in the dining area. The wooden tables were draped with a yellow tablecloth with a place setting for every chair. Each table was illuminated with a hanging lantern making the areas between tables quite dim. The door to the kitchen was directly across from the front door.

Soft piano music played as they made their way in. A few small groups off patrons chattered on over their meals as the group entered. A waiter welcomed them and lead them to an open table in the center of the dining area. Ryuuto took a seat facing the door. He waited for the others to seat themselves.

Kin was very surprised by how kind everyone was to him at this moment. This made him feel fairly good about himself. But he still thought that it would be a bit strange for him to go with his new team mates and celebrate the life and death of someone he never even knew. It seemed that the older Inuzuka was fond of the younger clan member. This just showed how loyal the whole clan is to each other. He still didn’t respond, he wanted to see if the other genin would want him to come and celebrate with them. It seemed as if at first Yutaka didn’t mind, but the boy still wasn’t sure since there was no direct answer to him. So he decided to wait and see if the leader had anything to say about his answer.

The takikage took this as a joke and began to command the boy to come with them. The kid responded with a wide grin at the whole team. Everyone on the team seemed to enjoy this small joke, but what he heard next spooked him a bit. He didn’t believe Axel at first, but the way he was looking at him made him think he wasn’t lying at all. Especially when Yutaka spoke, stuff like this never really bothered the boy, but these guys made the serpent sound so real. I guess I know my answer then he spoke, as a grin spread across his face

After being convinced the boy followed everyone to the restaurant called “The Lantern” he had never been here, but his mother once worked here as a chief. The inside of this dining place was very delicate, it seemed so beautiful and calm. Before sitting down he awaited for everyone else to take their seat.

I grinned softly watching everyone joke around laughing quietly to myself as Yuta added in the extra bit about the Waterfall Serpent. Kin seemed to be slowly coming out of his reverie and fitting in more with us now that the atmosphere was lighter. I watched as Hime politely took the Bolas back to Yuta before we started following our leader to the restaurant he had in mind

We walked down a street till we came to a doorway with a single orange lantern hanging over it that lead down a staircase into the dim basement that was lit by similar lanterns. As Kin and Ryuuto sat down I took my place sitting with them with Hime at my side since animal companions were seen in the same light as service animals.

As Ryuuto began walking towards the restraunt the group became quiet. Hime quickly and politely returned my bolas. So kind. I have never met such a nice dog. I glance at Axel. Then I qquickly stroked Hime's head. I hope wolves are like dogs and like this.

As Ryuuto leads Kin speaks out a little bit. "I guess I know my answer then." We go to a nice building with an orange lantern outside of it. How nice? I wish I was in my crimson jacket. I guess my white dress shirt wil lhave to do. I quickly tuck it in sloppily. I look like a buisness-trip turned vacation. Not like anyone in there I reallly need to impress. I only need respect, and the plate on my forehead provides that.

On the floor there is a nice black carpet. It had orange around its edges. There were nice wooden tables. They were draped with yellow table cloths. The lanterns are dim and there is only one per table. This makes some nice atmosphere. This is way better then my babysitter's suishi. He isn't really a babysitter any more. More of an adoptive father. Anyway I sit down next to Kin. I really want to get to know him.

I glance over the menu. I hope Ryuuto has the dinner covered. I didn't bring much money. I consider starting a conversation. But I need to ask Ryuuto if he is paying or not. How to make that not sound rude. I muse in my head; 'Lord Takikage, wil lyou pay for my soup?' I look up Ryuuto ands have no idea what to say.

"The meal is on me.." He assured Yutaka. "You may get anything you want but don't go crazy." Ryuuto said with a grin on his face. Ryuuto took a peek at the menu himself. This restaurant had a selection of international foods. He craved something spicy today. "Red Pepper Chicken Yakisoba." stood out from the menu.

A waitress would appear from the back and make her way to the table whipping out a notepad and putting on a cheerful smile. "Welcome to Lantern! Can I take your order?"

When everyone finally sat down, the boy took the only seat left which was beside Yutaka, hopefully this will be fun, and this was the only thing the boy was thinking about. He was hoping that, no one will bring up the dead team mate a lot. Since Kin didn't know him at all and it would be fairly awkward for him to talk about him. Thas one of the many reasons why the boy didn't want to attend this meal. It seemed like everyone was in a cheery mood at this moment, so maybe it wouldn't be that bad. Soon Kin noticed everyone look at the menu, he quickly went to grab his. He didn't want to look as if he was feeling strange. Not too soon after everyone got their menu one of the shinobi's spoke. This made the boy lower his menu a bit. He didn't think of that, the boy didn't bring any money with him. In his luck the takikage told the boys that the meal was on him. The small comment that his leader said made the boy also grin.

Few minutes after the small conversation a waiter came in from the kitchen. She made her way over to our table, Kin listened to her cheesy greeting. Every restaurant said that exact same thing, it didn't really bother him, but he wouldn't have minded to see some originality. The first to order was the takikage, after him it seemed to be Kin's. Umm... he mumbled as he quickly scanned the menu. It took him several seconds to find the food he was craving. Bulgogi, please he told the waitress. He then watched as the waiter received the orders from the rest of the team. Kin began to pet Kouji while he waited for someone to start a conversation.

I calmly looked over the menu while absent-mindedly petting Hime. I had already decided to get her a ribeye steak and ask to keep the bone for her to chew on but still couldn't find anything I wanted, I mean the menu was huge they tons of different types of mushu, ramen, wontons, and kokushu. "Dang it..." I grumbled softly and Hime patted her tail against the floor.

As the waiter came over to us and repeated the same laughably routine line to us that every restraunt had I sighed putting down the menu, I'm a dog I'll red meat and be happy I thought to myself as I leaned back and grinned at the cute waitress showing off my Inuzuka fangs, she seemed to be about my age or maybe 18 judging from her figuer. "nice to meet you cutie, can I get 3 rib eyes and two of their bones for my pup and her friend?"

Hime politely walked over and bowed before nuzzling her leg in appreciation and thanks before coming back to my side while still wagging her tail happily. I smiled and patted her head which made her nuzzle my hand affectionately "Hime likes you haha"

Axel was hitting on the waitress. Totally contrasting Kin's unpreparedness and hesitance. Hime was also liking that waitress. I notice how boring that 'Can I take your order' is. Nice restraunt, not the best wait staff.

I know what I want. It is considered street food but I want some Nikuman. Just before I speak up Axel orders some food. Bones for the dogs, how nice. Then I speak up. "I would like some nikuman please." I have a certain craving for those pork fried buns. Only Ryuuto is yet to order, I have a feeling he is a going to order some noodles, just by the way he is. He seems like a noddle kind of guy.

Kin listened to everyone else make their order, one that stood out was Axel's. It was so kind of him to also order some type of treat for his Kouji. Thank you The boy said to the older clan member. This was just another example of how the members of the Inuzuka clan are a lot like canines. They always look after each other. Kin really did appreciate this kind gesture, and the boy was sure that his companion would appreciate this also. After Axel it was Yutaka&'s turn to order, he didn't want to order anything special it seemed. The boy had no problems with this, everyone has their own tastes. After Yutaka, it was the leader's turn to choose what he was craving for. But it seemed he would take his time to order.
