Now cleared of the gates of Amegakure, Jason started to walk down the roads. He was headed toward the capital of grass to attempt to gain entrance to the village. Why was he headed there? He was not sure... It was the first stop that Jason and Koga had made on their previous travels, so perhaps that was why Jason chose that spot.
As they walked, Jason looked to his children and said "If I appear to not be paying attention, it is because I am attempting to do something. Don't worry. Just keep following the roads. It shouldn't take too long to get there." Jason then pulled out one of the scrolls from his pockets. It had no words on the outside of it, but Jason knew what it was... It was the scroll of the Sharingan...

Finally opening the scroll, a slight tear was heard from the seal being broken. Opening it, Jason read up on the first stage of Sharingan. It was a weak doujutsu, but was able to see through genjutsu of C ranks or under. Unfortunately, Jason was able to see through his genjutsu, so he would be unsure as to if he could see through it or not. But perhaps he could do something.
Closing his eyes slightly, Jason said "Maketai, Maketan.... Guide me to the capital. I doubt I will be able to move on my own..." They grabbed his hands and started walking the correct way as Jason opened his eyes again, this time appearing as if he was not there.
Inside the recesses of his mind, Jason was at home once more... his first home. There he was, looking upon himself as a child once more, learning that one fire technique from his real father. His father had his 3rd stage sharingan activated while Jason's eyes were normal. His father had used a genjutsu to make the two appear invisible, so he made himself appear on the outside of the genjutsu, not able to see his father and the younger version of himself.
"Much better." He said to himself in his own mind. Now he focused chakra to his eyes. It was time to allow his sharingan to be used. This was probably going to be one of the most difficult training sessions he would have. The chakra burned as it went to his eyes, as if they were infused with the fire of the Uchiha. Closing his eyes again, he stopped the flow of chakra. It was too much right now.
It was times like these that he wished he was still living with an uchiha. But he was told to leave far too long ago. Letting the chakra slowly flow back to his eyes, in very small increments, Jason adjusted to the addition of chakra to his eyes before adding more. He needed to get the burning chakra into his eyes before his was able to truly work on unlocking his sharingan.
As he did this, flashbacks of when he used to live within the walls of the leaf village came to his head as he tried to focus on the memory of him learning the fire jutsu. A wave of heat hit him as his father had just shown how to perform it. Jason managed to stop adding more chakra and adjust to what he already had. It was so painful, but he had to do it. After a short period of time, Jason finally decided to start the flow of chakra again.
The burning, the pain, it was just too much. What did his father tell him before? 'Whenever it is time for you to unlock your Sharingan, the chakra you feel will burn at first. Remember those that are closest to you as you do this and it will become much easier.' Those who were closest to him... His mother, his father, the second Uchiha family, the Yamanaka family, Koga, Kushina... Maketai and Maketan... Those two were the closest things to him... As he thought of them, the burning sensation seemed to leave his eyes.
Now that things were starting to hurt less, Jason was able to direct chakra to his eyes at a quicker rate. It still burned as it went to his eyes, but not nearly as much because of his children. The invisibility that surrounded the younger version of Jason as well as his father wavered slightly as the chakra filled his eyes and slowly started to brighten in color. It was a strange feeling, but Jason knew that this was the first step in achieving the Sharingan.
He continued to pour the chakra into his eyes, the burning starting to increase again, but he kept up with the flow of chakra, still thinking of his children. The memories of his past tried to divert Jason's attention, but his focus was aided by his children holding his hands and guiding him. The burning continued to be un-noticed as they continued to guide him down the road.
His eyes continued to brighten, appearing slightly redder then its usual black color. The invisibility also slowly started to waver once more. The chakra flow was going well. Now it was time for one final push... Closing his eyes, he focused a lot of chakra to his eyes. They burned like crazy, but he quickly opened his eyes again. They were bright red in color with just a small, dilated pupil. No Tomoe's were surrounding the pupil on the black line, but the red color was finally there.
The trio then passed the border between rain and grass. They were nearing their destination, but his training was not quite complete. He needed a single black tomoe to appear on his eye before they were finally complete.
As they walked, Jason looked to his children and said "If I appear to not be paying attention, it is because I am attempting to do something. Don't worry. Just keep following the roads. It was the scroll of the Sharingan...
