Takeo awoke to the morning sun glaring in his eyes. He yawned loudly and stretched his arms above his head. He looked around at the empty field. It was the place he called home ever since he was so suddenly “evicted” from his parent’s house. But it was only a morning like any other. The leaves of the trees swirled about, dancing with the wind. The lake beside Takeo’s campsite sat calmly and glistened in the sun’s light.” Hmm, this does really suck balls, but nature is pretty dam beautiful.” Takeo said to himself. He scratched his head and moved over to the river. He kneeled down beside the water and cupped his hands to splash his face.
Takeo removed his robe and tossed it under the tree where he sleeps for the night. He dropped to the ground with his hands about shoulder width apart supporting his weight. He began performing pushups one after the other with no pauses in between. He continued until he could no longer before finally, jumping up and bouncing in place.” Now what to do today…” he said aloud. He then thought back to a technique that he read over before. If he remembered correctly it was called Shunshin no Jutsu, a skill that would enable him to propel himself forward closing the gap between himself and his opponent. There was both a taijutsu and ninjutsu version of the technique, which he would of course learn the taijutsu form, because his ninjutsu simply wasn’t very up to par. But Takeo could not remember anymore about the technique beyond the fact that he must concentrate his chi into his ankles and feet.
Because he would be required to build up his chi, Takeo decided to center himself and sat down in the lotus position near the river. Takeo sat and meditated for around half an hour before he finally inhaled deeply through his nose, and then exhaled from his mouth. He rose to his feet and cracked his knuckles and neck. He bounced in place to warm himself up preparing for his first attempt at the technique.” Heh, this shouldn’t be so hard, easy as pie!” He settled, closing his eyes and focusing his chi into his ankles and feet. He imagined propelling himself forward with the flick of the ball of his feet from the ground effectively moving him forward in a straight line. After he felt he finally focused enough chi into his ankles and feet, he bent at the knee crouching slightly and quickly pushed off the ball of his foot from the ground sending him dashing forward. But he quickly realized he had no control of himself as he was suspended in the air, his body falling forward. He let out a yelp before he crashed face first into the ground sliding almost 2 meters before coming to a halt.
He let out a groan of pain, mumbled by the mouthful of dirt and grass. He got up slowly brushing the dirt off of his face while holding his back for support.” Well that didn’t go as expected.” He spit out some dirt and held his right nostril closed as he shot out gravel snot rockets, and then again with the other nostril. He walked over to the river and splashed some water on his face cleaning of the dirt and grass all over his face.” I suppose that deserves another go. I guess I kind of overpowered that one just a bit.” He bounced around again and pounded his chest to psych himself up.” Alright! Let’s try this again!” he said as he prepared himself for his second attempt.
