Welcome to the Twelve Days of Christmas on NFRP. I know this one is going out later than I'd like, but that's because Christmas is such a special day that I've been out and about and busy (AKA: Doing Santa's job since he's no longer with us.)

Last year we did the Advent Calendar. But this year we're doing the Twelve Days of Christmas! Traditionally, the Twelve Days of Christmas run from December 25th to January 5th, so that's what we're going to follow. So for this one, it's a simple challenge, just to make things a bit easy for the beginning.

Tell us how your holidays have been so far. If you don't celebrate any of the December Holidays, tell us about your Winter (Or Summer if you're on the other side of the world). Things are going...well, okay! Prior to winter break, I was doing a lot of work towards graduate school admissions, as well as writing my thesis/trying to push a publication through a scientific journal. But that's the boring crap. Frankly, it's really nice to spend some time with my family for a few weeks before I have to go back to the grind!

My cat could have caught my house on fire though. Knocked down the Christmas tree overnight, and I think one of the wires were bad or something. Anyways, woke up to the floor being slowly burned, just smoking away...

I worked Christmas Eve and Day, but some of my family flew out to see me and it was extra special even if they only stayed 3 hours cause their flight left sooner than expected. I got perfume, a set of new books, a bunch of little things, time with my family which I wanted more than anything and a few indie games for my playstation.

I played dinosaurs with my little cousins, spoke to an estranged family member over the phone, slept like the dead, woke up and ate Pho, rotel and some other things only to pass out while trying to make a bunch of posts here.

Hello all!

It is actually December 26th here. I am currently in Okinawa, Japan. I Joined the Navy a while back and found that celebrating the holidays with friends instead of family was a necessity. Being away isn't the easiest thing but something you learn to deal with. This Christmas I went out to breakfast with a few friends, a fancy pancake place. It is pretty interesting on what people add to them, dry curry and burger meat (something like salisbury stake). I had the latter, which was pretty good.

The weather here is rainy, but warm. Nothing really out of the ordinary, other than it being in the 70s instead of the 90s or 100s and not so humid. People are partying it up, but I don't like to do that much, so I just walk in the rain, call my family and hang with friends. The time off work that they give us is very much appreciated, an extra two days of doing what you want when you want.

Now I am just hanging out with you guys, trying to get my characters up and running and the ryu that is being given away will help a lot.

Oh God, where to start? My brother graduated from college last Saturday, very proud. Grandpa came down from Alabama first the time in forever, going to be staying around with us till New Years. My god daughter had her birthday party at Chuckie Cheese's on Sunday. So many screaming children, good god. Spent about 1000 dollars on Christmas Gift( have a very big family), and it was totally worth it. Just got back from a family get together, cousins from all around the country actually came, wasn't expecting that. And the the Warriors won... YAY!!! Suck it Cavs!!! Really, really fun Christmas this year. 

It all will come crashing down tomorrow, or I guess today, have to get back to work. *sigh* Oh well.

Well, my holidays have been interesting. I got fired from the 2nd job I had picked up at the end of novemeber, which ended a streak of working 7 days a week at 60ish hours for about a month. Then I got really sick for about 2 weeks, recovered, hung out with friends, family, attended some Christmas parties, and somewhere inbetween this, I'm now an uncle to an adorable baby girl. So... my holidays have been very up and down, but overall positive? I think?

Man, this season has been a mixed bag for myself in all honestly. My holiday season started off with my grandmother's diagnosis of stage four lung cancer, and my grandfather loosing it because of said fact. This was really discouraging for me when December hit, because I had been excited up until that point. I had just started a new job at a law office and everything was looking up for finals up until that point. After that things went kind of up and down for myself; however I will say there have been a few up sides that excite me quite a bit.

First of all, I've passed all my finals, ending up with a 3.2 GPA this semester, which is not terrible. It's also through this that I've become more active on campus as well this winter. I've even gotten elected as a club officer; which is pretty cool if you ask me. I also gained quite a few life long friends who seem to show interest in being active in my life and supporting me. I've finally brought myself to a place where I want be, and overall it's getting better for me. This Christmas has been a great time to spend with my family, and overall has been an awesome day.

I hope my winter begins to improve a tad bit more; however that's not always how the boat floats. I'm determined to enjoy this holiday season, and further more thank everyone at NFRP for being there with me for a year official as of New Years. I can't believe I've been active here for a year now, to me I still feel like such a new face. I've done somethings on the site that have gotten me involved with everyone that hangs around, and even the other new faces on the block. I just want to thank everyone who has been there for the journey. 👺 Usiel, Rokudaime Mamimi, Natsy, Yoshi [Lynx!], and everyone else whom I've not mentioned but appreciate, I just wanted to finish with a thanks to you all for making me feel welcome. As my first complete year comes to a close this winter, I have to say I appreciate all the chats, laughs, RP, and Training I've gotten to do with you all. NFRP has been a wonderful experience! I hope to finish this year out strong, and hopefully there is more to come!

As I don't have much family to speak of to spend time with during Christmas, I am fortunate to be blessed with a best friend that invites me over to her place. I help them clean the house, bake cookies and confetti, and in turn they have me for Christmas dinner. It is not a regular Christmas, but it is much better than sitting all alone at home as I have some years.
Then I usually spend some days between Christmas and new years by working voluntarily at a local shelter, where we cook and serve food for the economically challenged, so they too have a place to go during Christmas. You get to hear a lot of stories, meet a lot of people, and I often feel like giving such a gift to others, lets me recieve an even greater gift in return.

I am thankful for having NFRP too. Lord knows I have experienced my ups and downs, both on site and off site. Regardless, I have shared many fond moments with people here, and I hope for that to continue far into the future.

My Christmas this year has not been the best. No reason to be happy of it, more like the single college student's christmas, got nothing, was lucky to eat. Only good thing thats happened so far for me was that I found people to play SWTOR with me, though we're still just getting started lol. I got jack diddly crap for Christmas, and such. I won't lie, I've had better Christmas' and such, but it was better than most and at least I'm not one of those whiny people on twitter who complains that their parents got them a "gold" iPhone instead of a "rose gold" iPhone as if its the most important thing in the universe to have THAT specific coloring...I got off on a tangent didn't I?

I hope everyone else had a better holiday than I did, and I'm looking forward to 2016.

My winter holiday has been full of different ups and downs. I have had the advantages of a loving house hold to support me while i have an overwhelming break down, and on this day i had another minor one. I am thankful for my family supporting me and helping me out though and even helping me to finance a more pricey gift which i wouldn't let them pay for completely.

TL.DR = I wont go into my whole depressing and uplifting bi polar story but yeah, ups and downs.

I travel a lot on the holidays to visit family so we just got back from a long road trip. It was good to see my cousins who I remember better as toddlers but who are now halfway through their freshman year of high school. My grandmother who is very elderly forgot that she was invited to Christmas but when we went to her house after she was very happy and bright. I suppose these things come with age. Because of the travel we have three Christmas celebrations. The first is on the day before Christmas Eve at my parent's house, the second is at my dad's sister's house, and the third is at my mom's brother's house. In total we log around 14 hours in the car over the three days so when we get back we just crash on the couch until the end of the weekend.

Generally, I visit my family for Christmas, all of us gather at our parents house. Its a pretty lowkey affair for the most part. A nice and filling dinner, a visit to the church of my upbringing, an exchange of presents, and a parting brunch. It has gotten a bit more exciting, since my siblings got dogs. For some reason young animals make family gatherings less relaxed.

Things going for December have been going quite bad at first, but got better. Since I am no longer studying until next month, I have been spending it relaxing to the point when I don’t really want to study! At the beginning of this month my benefit went haywire and that ended up putting me in debt for two weeks. Lucky for me, I have sorted it out. My fiancé got deported from Australia on his way to New Zealand, so I spent Christmas and New Years without him or my daughter. So not happy about that at all.

Aside from those two downers, I spent the majority of the second half of December camping with my sister, dad and his girlfriend at the beach! Went back home and then went back to the beach again for Christmas. In fact, I returned home from camping there yesterday! It is also the same time I caught myself a head cold. I saw a family of orca swimming along the coast of Waiotahi Beach in Ohiwa which was totally amazing as I have never seen a real life orca before (only on tv). I also went fishing with the long line and rod. But caught nothing. Dad caught a fish, but I wasn’t present during that time (he left without me since I was asleep).

my winter's been ok, I suppose. Nothing special really happened, aside from the fan on this computer's video card crapping out, so I now am unable to play any pc games until we can replace it. I did get some good stuff for christmas though; an HGUC MS-18E Kampfer, Minecraft for my PS3, Kirby's epic yarn for my wii(that game is so cute, I swear it's giving me diabetes), a DS lite with R4 card, Sonic 3 and some composite cables for my genesis and a K-cup brewer. Nothing of note really happened beyond that.

My winter started of fairly normal, working too much and the little time I had to spare was spend on family meetings I resented. It did however change at the beginning of december when I finally was able to take some less hours at work, less money but more energy, making me able to actually fix all the presents and food needed for christmas. The holidays themselves were relatively successful, several great gifts and good food, but too much time spend with the family. 4 days in a row was spend in awkward parties with lax to aggressive conversations. Now I will have a few chill days before I will have to celebrate a bunch of stuff again, except that I won´t have any days off. All work work.

My holidays have been nice so far. I was given Christmas Eve off and Christmas so I had a nice four day weekend. On Tuesday I was given a nice check from Workman's Comp even though they specifically told me that my Work denied me of any form of payment so that was an awesome Christmas gift. I actually used a portion of that to buy late presents for my immediate family.

For Christmas we had a turkey dinner. For Christmas eve we had a burger dinner. I gave my mom a Vinyl record of the Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack. My mom's friend who we are taking care of a jacket (he needed one bad). Other than that it's been pretty chill. Most of my time was spent on playing Fallout 4 until recently where I started to work on Creatures once again.

Thus far its been a lot of visiting family and trying to get the time to ourselves to actually relax but combination jobs not letting up for christmas and wonky schedules have guaranteed a hectic drive and rather little time to rest.

Never were terribly extravagant for christmas (halloween is more my holiday) so basically getting things like clothes is normal. But hey, its good to change up the wardrobe occasionally. And I do so enjoy a good vault-tec T shirt.
