Loki nodded and turned to face him. She lightly chastized him again for his formality for the second time now in as many meetings. Isamu responded to confirm he understood, "Of course." He would remain cautious with her but abandon her titles. Next he turned to greet Krystal. She waved and responded with a coded inquiry that made Isamu's face drop.

How much could he tell her? How much did he even know? Finally, deciding that Shihana had clearly trusted Krystal he answered, "I have not seen her since we parted in Hikkaku." Isamu regretted parting from Shihana and worried about might have happened on her return voyage while he was out in the desert.

Finally he turned to greet Emi. The Amegakure shinobi responded courteously and warmly and Isamu did the same, "It has been too long Emi. I am doing well, service to my village has kept me far from yours." Isamu chuckled remembering the misery of the perpetually damp Amegakure, "Fortunately for my complexion. Perhaps we will be able to catch up after the dust settles here."

A flash of light emanated from behind him and Isamu turned only to be struck dumb. Shiki Senri was sitting on the cart. Isamu's mind reeled. No one had seen the former Kazekage since he Shihana had become Kazekage. There had been no explanation for the rank and file. Few had even known that he had been elevated from Jounin Commander in Amira's place. Isamu watched his exchange with Loki and the boy as the cart rolled forward. When it was done he spoke, "Sir... Shiki." His swirling thoughts were encapsulated in the words; equal parts statement and question.

So much murmuring. Too many faces. Some recognizable others not. I struggled trying to piece together who all these people were around me. A quick look over at the quantity of people, the caliber of weaponry and the armor worn. This was clearly going to be more than some sort of social visit. 

<Well you know me. I'm not one to sit around and wait. Care to fill me in on whats happening>

I took a moment and let all the idle chatter pass through my ears. Filtering out keywords for anything interesting. I took a small scent as my familiar kedoin friend got closer. The bloodlust in the air was tangible. We would fight soon. That much I could be sure about. As he looked over at me I could feel the lightning start to swell inside of me. Though weakened, the yearning to cross blades with one of my rivals stoked it. "Zuruel. Destiny seems to keep a limited cast. It's a pleasure to see you again." 

The familiar face of the ninja Emi would emerge. 

"There must be blood in the water if the strongest members of both the Hoshigaki clan and the kedoin clans are out here." 

<This is quite the party you have assembled...> 

A familiar voice called out over the crowd. It was my fox friend Kurama. She seemed to be doing much better than the last time I saw her. While innocent I distinctly remember her being a pretty high class powerhouse when it came to being a font of raw energy. "Kurama." I'd say simply giving a faint nod in her direction. 

I'd pause for a moment as the world serpent, my son approached me and began to speak to me. "Thank you for keeping my cloak safe for me Jorgie. It is the only thing I have left of my father. I would very much like it back. I will get you one that matches it." I'd smile beneath my visor. It was funny that he inherited my fashion sense. 

Assuming I would be able to retrieve my cloak back. I'd quickly pull the snow white cloak around me. The symbol of the Kyoudo and the Kanji symbol for lightning on my back represented in orange. 

"I'll stay by your side. Like always Loki. But don't think for one moment that means I'm standing behind you." As the cloak wrapped around me I felt the protection of my clan wrap around me. The warm safety of the power passed through generations, the light of the oracle radiated across me. "I am Shiki Senri. Godslayer. Patriarch of the Kyoudo. White Wolf and Hunter of the Hollows. Sannin of the Hidden Sand." I'd say the last part turning to Isamu and give a small nod. 

"Now that I am here Loki... Why are we here?... Or rather what lies ahead?" 

[Skulking Shinzu]

Lady planned on taking her time telepathically explaining the situation to Krystal. However, a rundown of the situation could be pieced together by the others, so Lady refrained from doubling up on any of the explanations unless Krystal had any specific questions. Not that she could focus anyway with the sight of the Bleeder launching himself several meters backwards through nothing more the sheer pressure of his nosebleed. “Oh? A missing link?” Zuruel stared at the boy drowning in a puddle of his own fluids. He had seen bloodlines capable of manipulating cells, organs, hair and even bone. Despite witnessing such vast feats, blood manipulation was a new one for him. The boy’s powers over the crimson red flowing throughout his veins was clearly lacking. His own blood was too powerful for him to handle. Making a mental note to fight him later, the Kedoin focused on the sight of Lady crunching on the squares of chocolate handed over by Emi with a shadowy snout, before casting his focus almost entirely on Shiki.

“I think you’re right Emi. This isn’t the time for glasses. Not when destiny is calling.” Zuruel licked his lips as the pale flesh tendrils woven around the ring began to dissolve away as his index finger and thumb gripped against the cold metal tightly as if to remove it. Unfortunately, before the enchanted item could be fully discarded, Emi’s blue figure stepped into view to break Zuruel’s eye contact with Shiki’s helmet. This seemed to cause the intense look in his mismatched eyes to fade away. “Not a problem. Shiki and I spent our last fight constantly ten meters apart anyway. That didn’t stop us from dropping buildings on each other.” The Kedoin snickered as he released his grip on the ring and left it resting around his finger. The soothing sensation it emitted seemed to dull his mind at that moment and relax his body. Yawning, he simply glanced up at the sky while waving the airborne Kimi off. “Look at that majestic bastard go.” He thought to himself while wondering if the redhead was safe up there.

Glancing around while following the group to their destination, Zuruel could observe semi-private conversations erupting within the respective groups Kahimi had formed. Interestingly, the woman demonstrated her prowess in leading by firing questions towards everyone as a collective - most likely to bring their divided attentions together. The Kedoin took note of the shift in the woman’s tone here. She seemed to go from stern and calculating, to playful and motivating in seconds. Which one was the real Kahimi? Either way, Zuruel decided to be purposely difficult by winking at Kahimi before turning his attention solely towards Emi. “What do you think we will find in there, Emi? Monsters? Demons? All of these guys with their fancy titles, and I’ve never done anything to merit any minstrels writing any songs about my exploits. Perhaps whatever is in the tree will finally change that.” Zuruel pouted playfully while casting his gaze on the silver-haired man that had been revealed as Sekitan. Out of the entire group, he seemed like the most stern and amusing to pester.

[AMATERASU]

I sighed at Krystal's antics. Ammiku. Of course each nickname would end up worse than the last. Well, it was fine. She was nothing if not herself. Shiki's muted reaction was pretty disappointing too, really. It had been such a long time since we had last seen each other, and he didn't even comment on my new haori. Well, I guess he was just the single minded type.

I took a sip of sake, then held out the skin to Nex. "Want some?"

Ahead of him Kahimi began to change, for lack of a better word, as if either shedding an outer layer of personality to true self or placing a layer on to hide who she was. He watched her curiously, wondering exactly what game it was that she was playing at, and then she looked to him. A wink, it was the only answer she had given, but he was quick to understand its meaning. [Sense Motive: 170] So she’s planning that, is she? Perhaps they will play into her hands, if she maneuvers them correctly. A thought caressed his mind, a slight downturn of the corners of his lips was the only sign he wore a grimace, but in moments he schooled his face to serenity. They will not follow her, she is far too weak for that. He had best be prepared.

Sekitan ran down his mental checklist of his allies, their abilities, and their possible affiliations just to be sure he kept a neat catalogue. Just in case. Idle chatter amongst the others began to stir; the one named Shiki seemed lost, Isamu and Kimimaru took flight to scout ahead. Krystal waved a greeting to him, one to be met with a stare that could freeze ice, returning to his study of those around him. Zuruel was eyeballing him for a moment as well, leveling that frozen gaze upon the jester, unwilling to look away, yet his gaze was pulled away. Krystal had done something he had not been expecting, slamming her head and part of her torso through the tarp canvas of the wagon, ripping her way in to have her conversation. He could not even begin to fathom the reasoning behind such behavior. Why? It was the only thought that came to him. All thoughts of participating in a conversation with these cultist vanished with that act, except for Loki. There might be some merit in a conversation with a LeFaye, but not with the clinically insane.

The take off

here were several interesting people in the group, most which even seemed to be allied to Loki and her gang. So Emi started to worry less about having a great fight within the unit and instead imagined that he could be the odd man out if it went south. But as Zuruel and Lady appeared to be allied with the rest, he felt fairly safe. As his eyes wandered over Lady and he saw that she seemed to really enjoy his gift, Emi smiled at her and wondered if he wanted to save the rest or give her some more immediately. But as they traveled and there were likely opponents around, he expected it to be better to wait.

So you've fought the white wolf? How does your powers compare?

Zuruel had been around Emi for so long that Emi had a very good idea on what his strengths and flaws were, so if his friend gave a good judgement Emi would be able to get a good estimate.

My expectation on our coming enemies are monsters created from corruption rather than natural selection. Demons doesn't normally leave their realm from my experience, and I doubt the cultists dare to venture that far in. If you do want fame, make sure that the right people do survive and wants to spread your glory.

Was his ideas on the matter, knowing full well that Zuruel would get eager to push the mission beyond the human criminals and find some darker evil. But Emi was concerned about the fluctuation around the tree that Loki had mentioned, it was likely all over the place where they were going, making it hard if not impossible to orient their way back. So he would try to keep Zuruel satisfied without going too deep.

Remember, dear friend. That if your... glasses aren't used when necessary because you took them off, I will need to make something to have Lady full power over them.

He used the metaphor to discourage people that hadn't listened to the entire discussion to care, but made sure to keep a quiet tone to not announce it to too many people. When he noticed that the leader of the group - Kahimi, decided that it was time to increase the morale, he mentally nodded. It was a good decision, especially after the initial brute claim of the leadership. That too gave the group a better feel to it. Even though he didn't feel like joining the group conversation, he did respect Kahimi for trying such a move in that unit. Instead he made sure to start taking better notice of their surrounding, both with eyes, ears and the vibrations in the ground.

Such a wild series of events, still, with nothing directly affecting her, Yoko had no further cause to interact with the others. Instead, she elected to continue her observation of their actions, nothing as best she could what they said and did within her field of vision. The discussion of power levels was somewhat informative, affording her additional information by which she could rate the party members. Still, she did not allow their actions to distract from her overarching goal of preventing an ambush: maintaining a diligent awareness of her surroundings as they progressed onward.

There was nothing to fight yet, so she continued riding on the godsforsaken wagon.

Lunch is Ready

Jormungandr heard his father and then nodded his head. However, before he handed back the cloak, his hand went to work inside of the cloak, with a blink of an eye 9 daggers had been drawn and were floating around him, each one seemed just as masterfully crafted as the Mirror that Miku had received earlier. He then quickly attached a harness that he pulled out of the cloak, and but it on himself. Just as quickly as the daggers were pulled they were sheath into the harness that he had placed on himself. Without the cloak it was revealed that Jormungandr was wearing a sleeveless vest.

And his body was much more hardened then one might have expected. His muscles were far more than defined than one might have expected from his appearance, as well as there being the presence of several tattoos, on each arm, these where genjutsu disguised Ritual seals, placed by Loki. His gloved hands, gently folded the cloak as he floated it over to his mother. There was a chain that could be seen going from his belt to the inside of his right pocket. This was were his witch watch was kept. After giving the cloak to his father he turned his attention back towards the road ahead.

"Oh by the 9 yes!!! I've been dry for weeks now! Such a good child!" Nex said as she virtually snatched the bag from Miku and began to take in large gulps. She let out a satisfied sigh, as she handed the skin back to her. She giggled a bit, "That's good stuff.  Such a good girl." Nex said as the rubbed the top of Miku's head.

The idle chatter continued on for sometime, during this time, Loki relayed everything that was going on to Shiki. However she did so mentally, so she could give him more information than she was willing to give the rest, for obvious reasons. After some time had passed, and soon the group found themselves in the massive shadow that the tree cast. Loki's eyes watched Jormungandr, as the boy seemed to stiffen up a bit. He was just about to speak when Loki asked,

"What's the matter sweetie?" Jormungandr turned to face his mother with a smile and then said,

"I smell lunch." Jormungandr had a sinister grin on his face as his eyes began to shine with judgement. He looked out ahead into the Shade. Loki looked ahead and raised an eyebrow.

"This is surprising. How unlucky... or perhaps this is a blessing in disguise?" Jormungandr chuckled a bit. Anyone with an observation over 350 would be able to see what he was seeing at the moment. for those who did not possess such senses, or were not currently alert enough Loki would relay,

"About 80 meters ahead there is a horde of Shadow Worgs. Most seemed to be the equivalent of a B-Class monster. However, there are 28 of them that are at least A-Class, and around the same size as Sprinkles here." Loki said as she point at her glorious Hound. She was sure the rest could figure it out on they're own. She was sure at least a few of them would be able to see the creatures, and not walk blindly into an ambush. There was one more thing they should probably be aware of,

"Be cautious. Shadow Worgs are dangerous on their own, but this is a rather large pack, a variably horde. Not only that, but they have been soaking in the energies of Yggdrasil. Can you not feel it?" The energies immediate from the Tree of life once this close, could be felt even by those who had no way to sense the flow of chakra. This was how dense the power of the tree was.

"For those of you familiar with Plant and Herbs. You should know of the Sadilla tree. How even mundane creatures that feed on it's nuts, sometime gain the ability to use chakra. Imagine that, ramp up by several thousand at minimum. Those will not be normal Worgs, even by Worg standards." As Loki said this she was sure the caravan would stop for the moment and plan their course of action. Jormungandr on the other hand licked his lips as if he was looking at a buffer that was laid out before him.

"Mother I'm hungry. I'm going to get me a bite." Loki rolled her eyes at Jormungandr, and then looked over at Nex. She didn't have to say anything, as Nex knew she wanted her to go and look after Jormungandr. She was sure the boy could handle himself, however she didn't trust the ninja around to not try anything. Nex let out a noticeable sigh, as this was very clearly a buzz kill. What a shame, just when she had found the chance to get herself proper drunk.

"Bring Sprinkles with you sweetheart. He could do with some exercise." Loki said to Jormungandr, who nodded and quickly made his way over to the Earth Hound to on tie him from the cart.

"Let's go mutt. Try not to maul them too badly. I don't want your drool all over my meal!" Jormungandr chaste the large hound, who just huffed at the boy. Nex began to float into the air as she kept her distance behind the two of them with her arms floated. Jormungandr looked over his shoulder at the others, "What's there to discuss... kill the Worgs clear a path, right? The Tree's base is just beyond them."

Jormungandr was not trying to lead the group nor did he consider himself a leader. He was a weapon, a shield, a predator and right now he was hungry as hell. This Worg's had just offered themselves to be a nice snack. So While the others made their plans he would act. He looked over at Sprinkles and then said, "Wanna race to see who get's to the tree base first? You have to kill at least 5 worgs before you get there." The Earth Hound showed an annoyed expression on it's face, as if he didn't have time for such childish games. Jormungandr, ignored the look and crouched down into a wide stance, with one of his hand clutching the handle of his of one of his sheathed daggers. He free hand touched the ground.

"On your mark, get set... GO!" Nex was the one to call the start of the race. She wasn't drunk, but she was still feeling a little loose, and playful. Jormungandr shot out like a cannon as he took flight, but kept himself low to the ground. Sprinkles saw this and shot off after the boy also... flying?! It's large strides galloping on the air itself, as a shadowy shimmer began to radiate off it's body, much like a Shadow Worg it self.

This will go as fast as you guys handle these things. I will be controlling them in groups of 5. Each group will have 2 A-Class Worgs within them. There will be one final group composed of 4 A-Class Worgs. Each group have about 5 meters of space between them. If you do not post within 2 days of your turn, you will be skipped!!! If you are skipped when we enter the Tree, you will be left behind!!! If you are skipped during and an attack, you will receive a critical hit!!!!

A plan needed to be made and quickly. My nose perked up the moment I saw Jorgie's reaction to the shift in wind that must have carried the breeze. I could smell to the same degree he could.

His Senses are getting much sharper. I'm quite impressed.  - 

"I've got a pretty bright idea. Everyone cover your eyes until the flash is gone." 

As the groups came close into running into each other it became quite apparent that combat would be unavoidable. Given the powerhouses behind me I quickly determined that the most dangerous thing to the party would be a moment where we were divided or surrounded. It was my opportunity to seize the initiative here. There could be no room for failure. Stepping ahead and grabbing a single shuriken with a Hirashin tag on it I'd quickly throw it upwards into the air at a wide arc above the staggered pack. 

A good 40 meters towards the monsters and still 40 feet in the air I'd suddenly appear right above the spinning shuriken. As I appeared handseals were already being formed as I quickly would assess where the 'center' of the enemy pack was. Once my eyes met the center point I'd release the jutsu. It was finally time to stress test my new chakra limit since I had risen from my comatose state. I felt energy well up inside me as I tried to gather my chakra pool. The sensation was painful, like this minuscule amount of chakra was shattering the vessel that was my body. 

I felt my teeth grit in pain but would attempt to keep my composure despite the faint dizziness that came with it. My determination to stay on target allowed me to keep my hands steady as I finished the extra seals on my jutsu. It felt like the energy welling up inside of me was burning away at my tendons. 

Was this the price of the jutsu?

Before I had much more time to think the jutsu was cast. A bright bolt of lightning fell from the sky directly into the center of the pack and quickly spread to cover 75 meters from end to end. My anti flash blinders on my would activate on my helmet, yet just in case I would look away just enough so that my peripherals could still track movement to my sides. The flash was instant, and the thunder would echo across the surrounding area. The concussive force of the blast would strike all of the creatures within the 75 meter area with enough force to knock an unaware foe to the ground prone. By molding excess chakra into light and sound I could trade raw electrical output for sonic damage and hearing impairments against creatures with potentially sensitive ears. With enough light it should blind them in theory assuming they didn't have some sort of immunity to blindness. While not uncommon, most predatory creatures like this survived on hearing, scent and sight. 

The light would waver for a second or two before a wave of crackling heat would fill the 75 meter area. Constant electrical crackling filled the sound of the woods, confusing all regular sounds unless its audience had proficiency in the magic of sound. As the lightning surged for a half second it would quickly change its appearance as dark hellish flames suddenly erupted from within the lightning storm. 

The last dark secret of the Venatori. The weapon of angry gods, with the power to rend those with weak will it slays to be damned to hell in a burst of brimestone. A wave of pure heat would fill the area as my jutsu amalgamation burned, and pulsed and crackled. Half of the damage converted to thunder, the other half of the lightning damaged sacrificed... No... Elevated into Hellfire. The only lightning that actually remained in the jutsu itself was from the result of me being a pupil of the lightning element. It would never be possible for me to remove all traces of lightning from my chakra it would seem. 

I'd quickly reach down and grab the spinning shuriken in my hand in my armored gauntlet and hurl it back towards my party, aiming about 20 meters in front of them and directly into the ground. Once the shuriken struck the ground I'd quickly hirashin back in front of the party and draw my Katana as I readied myself for them to escape out of the jutsu. I felt my legs nearly shaking underneath me after I cast that jutsu. I knew that I would be weaker but I wasn't expecting to be this out of form. One more move like that and I don't think I could push my body much more past that.

Effect: Storm size is seventy five meters. Vision is obscured, and the shocks are inescapable.

Drawback: By default, the storm remains in place for five turns, but it can be blown away by ‘S’ ranked Fuuton and swept away by ‘S’ ranked Suiton. Does not differentiate between friend or foe. Can only be used twice per thread due to the toll it takes on the user.
Description: With this technique, the user summons forth a bright bolt of lightning FROM THE SKY which strikes the battlefield, and upon striking the ground, it blinds everyone present for a moment before revealing the true purpose of this jutsu – a sea of grayish dust is ever present, blanketing the battlefield. This ‘mist’ is actually Raiton particles spread forth all around, serving to blind shinobi with regular vision, confuse doujutsu as they’d see nothing but bright lights due to the immense amount of chakra present, and finally, constantly shock whomever is trapped within. Every two seconds, all within the storm will be shocked for ‘C’ ranked damage; those carrying metal on them or those susceptible to Raiton due to their blood will have that damage increased to ‘B’. Lastly, at all times within the storm, a loud crackling noise can be heard, confusing regular hearing unless the user is adept at the Sound release.

While she appreciated Isamu informing her about Valerys since she didn't receive a response from absolutely anyone about the current situation Krystal grumbled in her throat as Loki rattled off something about worgs or some other tolkien nonsense before her tail began to flick and her body shifted and shrank disappearing into the hole on the side of the covered wagon and a black galaxy cat hopped and floated over curling around the back of Loki's neck laying in the the big poofy white collar while Jor, Nex, Sprinkles and shiki went off to do something or other.

Frankly she wasn't informed so she didn't care, Shiki running off to blow his load on some shadow beasts wasn't the least bit surprising but she expected if anyone needed her they'd have told her. So now she yawned and nestled with her sister to rest, her x-ray vision and pervasive hearing keeping track on people if they mattered.

Shiki nodded to Isamu and the Genin nodded back. Isamu resolved to stay close to Shiki. In the absence of the Kazekage Shiki was the highest ranking Shinobi in the village. The party rolled on. Isamu kept three meters to the left of the cart listening to the conversations pulling up his goggles and scanning their surroundings passively. Now that he had a moment Isamu wondered what had become of the cart's owner, the diminutive little girl he met in Willow Moor. She was small to be sure but he did not see her in the party.

Next Isamu's mind focused on the impossibly large tree that towered dwarfed even mountains. He knew nothing about its power and so he appreciated it purely for the spectacle of it. Isamu wondered if the bandits he had fought at the border of this land and Taki no Kuni had ever gazed on this tree. Had the lived in its shadow? Isamu paused and thought of the call for help that had summoned him here; all the way from Sunagakure. Perhaps they had been fleeing something.

Isamu could hear Loki chatting with her and Shiki's son. Isamu was not sure what to make of his presence. Loki spoke to the group warning them of the danger ahead. Isamu checked his equipment as she spoke, sliding his katana an inch out of his sheath to make sure it was free before letting it drop back in its place. The surface of the sand in his gourd stirred as his defense came alive. Now he was as ready as he would be.

Loki's son and entourage were clearly preparing to barrel straight ahead. Isamu felt that there was nothing wrong with that being one prong of their attack, but it was risky for it to be the only one. He didn't know what set Shadow Worgs apart from any other creature but if they were present in such numbers they would quickly envelop the group if the party bunched together. There was risk in dividing too but Isamu weighed it as the lesser risk. If the party hit hard and fast from different angles they might scatter and confuse the horde.

As Jormungander took his stance, ready to sprint, Isamu called out to the group, "Some of us should hit the flanks to divide their focus. I'm going left." Then Nex called the start and Isamu took off sprinting. Not in a straight line but in an arc designed to take him to the pack's left flank. As he ran Isamu formed one handed seals with his left hand.

A large chunk of earth to Isamu's right launched up from the ground in a shallow trajectory. The chunk of earth was aimed at a group on the left most side of the horde at Isamu's two o'clock. The group was still about sixty meters away On impact the earth shattered into a hail of stone fragments lacerating anything within six meters of the impact. Any worgs hit directly would take sixty five points of bludgeoning damage. On the boulder's explosion they and any worgs within six meters would take an additional twenty four points of slashing damage.

Isamu began forming the hand seals to follow up again. At that moment the area lit up and Isamu's anti-flash lenses dimmed the burst. Scanning quickly he saw Shiki forty meters in the air. The Sannin disappeared again and Isamu noted that he had already separated from his commanding officer. Still he believed his plan was sound. This was not the end of the mission, it was only the beginning.

A large area below where Shiki had been was now a glowing fog of crackling electricity. Shiki winked out existence and Isamu altered course, veering closer to the horde. Isamu adjusted his plan. If the creatures had survived the glowing fog they would likely be plenty panicked and divided when they emerged. If he could sow further confusion and choas during their emergence that would give the party even more of an upperhand.

The Sadojin finished his handseals and altered course, leaving his feet and flying towards the glowing fog. Once he was 35 meters away from the edge of the fog. Isamu pushed his hands out in front of him and an invisible barrier 4 meters high and 26 meters long formed. The barrier was 4 meters in from the edge of the cloud and would likely extend out of the cloud for a couple meters on either end.

Any Worgs that ran into it would find it quite impenetrable. There were plenty of other places for the wargs to escape from the fogm but those that picked this section to flee would find themselves stuck in the fog by an invisible barrier. If he was lucky some of the worgs might even be cut off from their pack by the wall. Isamu gripped his katana's hilt with his right hand and watched carefully for Worgs breaking free from the edge of the fog.

Kimi was watching out for any and all enemies are than humanoid or something else. While he was doing that, he kept glancing at the tree and its glory. Something about it seemed to call to him as if it was saying it was waiting for him. He had noticed that he was somehow becoming closer and closer to nature, he was not sure why at all. It wasn’t like he had always been about nature but lately, his Jutsu had been leaning toward that.

He had gone so far as choice his Druid paths of Flowers. He knew that this was the correct path for himself and it seemed to help his emotions. This large of a Tree that held tangible power was like a beacon the closer he got to it. Kimi didn’t really know what to think about it, he would have to spend time inside it to really understand. That was when he spotted the creatures these wolves Esq things made of shadow. He had started to act when two other Shinobi beat him to the punch.

Seeing as two other Shinobi have acted and Kimi was closer than all of them, he knew he would need to act quickly. He had seen the pack was huge and there was no way for him to even handle five of them by himself. So he would do something similar to the other two, crowd control had become Kimi’s Forte and he was proud of it. He knew he had an effective of thirty-seven meters on his Ice mirrors, so when he got within twenty meters he would finish his handseals of the creatures. He would aim for the grouping on the far right, trying his best to get ten of them inside his mirrors.

With that being down he would he dive into the closest mirror to himself. This would give him cover and protection while allowing him to attack them without issue. When he created his mirrors he would make sure to use half the normal size of the dome so that he would only capture ten of them. He would then draw his bow and knock an arrow, he would choose one of these mechanical blades arrows. He would aim for the closest one that was within ten meters of himself.

He would lose his arrow aiming for the creature's eye, he wanted to disable it before anything else. He just needed to hold off the ones he captured as the others arrived. These mirrors should give him the stay ability to do that. After he fired the shot he would channel lightning chakra into his hands and cast the Lightning Armor Jutsu on himself, he could see how powerful this was. This should protect him from the worst of it. Though he noticed as he entered his mirrors he should be fine and protected he wouldn’t take any chances.

One's natural sight is also enhanced giving the capability of 4x zoom capabilities. Of course normal vision can hinder this special sight, as the user cannot see through walls or other things as normal.

Each crystal (normally 24 on the sides, 36 on the ceiling) occupies one 2 meter area, and the user is able to move inside them freely, moving up to 5 mirrors takes a movement. This technique can trap up to thirty-six 2-meter square areas of creatures, up to Huge size. As long as the user occupies inside a mirror they have the ability to user Stealth without cover from any creature caught in the area of effect. The user is able to move through a threatened zone without provoking an opportunity attack for 1 round after exiting a mirror, as long as they moves inside the area. While moving through an ice crystal, the user appears in all ice crystals formed in the area. Each mirror has hardness 5, 20 hit points, fire resistance 5 and is not subject to ice damage. There is enough space in-between crystals for a Medium-size creature to slip through; attempting to exit the area provokes an opportunity attack from the user. If it hits, the escaping creature is knocked back inside the area. The user cannot make additional opportunity attacks than normal in one round. If a mirror is destroyed, a Medium-size or smaller creature can slip through that area without provoking an opportunity of attack. The user can spend a move movement and "D" Rank Chakra to restore up to 10 mirrors each round. If the user remains hidden within a mirror, they are completely unaffected by physical attacks and technique until the mirror is destroyed.

Description: By learning to channel their unique chakra into a normal Raiton, Suiton, or Fuuton jutsu the user is capable of controlling where it begins. After completing the handseals used for the jutsu the user channels one element of chakra to each hand. (IE: Lightning and Water; Water and Water.) Others are able to see the element from each hand because they exude the element given to them. This is used for the other jutsu of the clan and simply having this jutsu active wastes chakra each turn. To learn the clans techniques they must have the corresponding rank of this jutsu. An additional B Rank training can be done any time after the B Rank version of this technique to remove the handseals needed. Though the same amount of time applies to get the channeling to succeed.

Arashi Kishi (Storm Knight)

Effect: Creates a suit of armor dependent on what element the user puts into it.

Drawback: The armor type causes weaknesses depending on what it is. No Ninjutsu can be used while in this form.
Description: After doing the handseals, the user uses what chakra is located currently within their hands to create a suit of armor. It is capable of blocking certain things depending on what armor it is.
Lightning: Blocks wind element attacks and lightning element attacks under B Rank and delivers a C rank shock to anyone that touches the armor.
Wind: Deflects light solid attacks such as kunai, shuriken, senbon and low level solid attacks like doton and shoton attacks.

[Skulking Shinzu]

Zuruel licked his lips with purposeful slowness as his mismatched eyes met with Sekitan’s, only for their focus to be ripped away from each other by Krystal’s bulrush through the wagon’s tarp. “That’s new.” He pondered, while recalling the fact that Krystal should have possessed the ability to simply phase through it. Either the tarp was enchanted, or Krystal had somehow lost a portion of her powers. “No clue.” He said nonchalantly, while responding to Emi’s question. “I never finished my fight with the White Wolf. The dingy rundown buildings kept collapsing all around us and kicking up dust. Trying to find each other started to become more of a nuisance than enjoyment.” Zuruel paused to take in the remainder of Emi’s speech. He seemed more interested in the Hoshigaki’s words than anyone else’s in the group. “Relying on a crutch doesn’t really solve the underlying problem.” He said dismissively with a sly wink just as the next few set of events unfolded.

“Shadow Worgs? Shadow Jump… Clones… Shadow Manipulation…” Zuruel muttered everything he recalled about the beasts from his knowledge of creatures known to inhabit forests. Although his voice was aimed specifically at Emi, he spoke clearly enough for anyone to overhear. Forcefully calm and collected due to Emi’s ring, he took his time scanning the scene before him. Unfortunately, from this distance, he couldn't do much else other than accept Loki's warning as blind truth. “I’ll deal with one group, Emi. Follow up if I fail to destroy them all. If I do, target a different group.” Rather unusually, the Kedoin seemed more focused on completely clearing the way, rather than taking on the bear minimum and rushing ahead to race with Nex. As fun as the challenge normally would have been, Emi’s ring seemed to quickly kill off any joy associated with the thought. Instead, Zuruel could only worry about the likelihood of Worgs straying from their groups to attack him if he dashed across the battlefield. There was no telling how the individual Worgs would behave when threatened, and there were no guarantees if the other Shinobi teams were capable of keeping their individual targets at bay. It was a risk impossible to take while under the influence of the accursed ring.

“Good thinking.” Zuruel smirked while shutting his eyes at Shiki’s warning. One step ahead of the man, he also clasped his hands over each ear to draw out the inevitable sound of crashing thunder. If nothing else, their spar years ago had at least granted the precious knowledge of knowing that Bards needed to be wary around Shiki Senri. “Well, now. That storm is going to make approaching the Wargs difficult.” Once the flash of red faded from his closed eyelids and the muffled roar that had leaked through his fingers dwindled down to the whispers of flames scorching earth, Zuruel's eyes jolted open while sending a mental command to Lady, which caused her transformed state to suddenly light up with foreign Mabuki runes. Granted knowledge of several of her Jutsus, Zuruel attuned himself to the vault within the neighbouring Land of Fire and reached his left hand into a swirling mass of yellow that represented Lady’s personal dimensional pocket to pull out a special tome - Grimoire 'Legiana'. Casually scrolling through the pages, the Kedoin finally stopped upon reaching a certain page etched with a seal that contained an enhanced version of the Seven Flowing Water Dragons technique. Unwilling to approach Shiki’s maelstrom of electrified dust and flames, he simply kept the book held and the seal primed for release while waiting and watching [Observation: 290] from his original location 80 meters away from the beasts.

[An'ei Sekitan]

Sekitan’s emerald eyes would glance sidelong at the wagon, listening to the announcement from Loki about a massive pack of Shadow Worgs that were in the area, of which had been exponentially boosted by the energies Yggdrasil. So the tree we are entering has other benefits to it, other than travel to worlds outside of our own. Intriguing. Jormangandr and Nex stepped from the cart, the boy that was Loki’s child moving toward the dog for a moment and exchanging words, then they took positions to begin a race? These witches are very carefree. They all seem to believe themselves untouchable from their demeanor. It would seem Isamu was going to join in the race as well, yet when the fox woman yelled for them to go, Isamu began in an outward arc toward the left flank. The one known as Shiki had appeared as well, lobbing a single shuriken with a tag of some sort upon it. Hmmm. What does he plan with that?

In the same flash as he had arrived, Shiki vanished from where he was standing, appearing some forty meters away from and that same distance above his target. Isamu lobbed a boulder into the alleged area of the Yggdrasil Shadow Worgs, simultaneously with the vanishing teleport by Shiki, creating a rather unique partnered attack by complete happenstance as it had not been thought out by either party. Suddenly, the man crackled with energy and launched a bolt straight down into the alleged area of the pack, the earth crackling with bright electrical energy before erupting into a cloud of gold and electric blue that ended a mere five meters from them. Sekitan merely shaded his eyes as he watched the display. It was not so bright as to be blinding through that sufficient measure. Shiki uses Raiton rather efficiently. Isamu seems skilled in Doton techniques. Shiki would appear back with the group, albeit some twenty meters ahead of the wagon, meaning that the technique he used was that same teleportation technique he had seen several times previously.

Kimimaru moved quickly, nearly simultaneously with the others, if only a split second late. He would come in close to the alleged area of the Worgs outer right flank, presuming it was a safe distance, yet he had been unaware of what Shiki had planned. A single eyebrow had been risen as Sekitan watched, the boy was gone in a flash of electricity at the same time he placed his Ice Mirrors, a technique that Sekitan was quite familiar with. If that boy survives, I’ll need to keep in mind his prowess with Hyouton. He turned his attention from them to what Zuruel had been concocting, the Jester reaching into a pool of golden light while the creature beside him had runes that lit up upon her body, and then finally pulled out a tome of some sort. It would seem there is little regard for teamwork within this grouping.

Of course, he would keep his eyes open for whatever else anyone would do to these Worgs, should they ever appear, as well as keeping an eye out for the Worgs. However, judging the distance and the fact that the enormous storm was just a few feet before them, Sekitan would bide his time. He was five meters to Zuruel’s right, ten meters from the wagon itself, and five meters behind Kahimi. This placed him forty meters from the Particle Storm itself, Kahimi about thirty-five away, just like the front of the wagon. Sekitan could feel the power of the tree, so perhaps these Worgs would not be finished by this technique, so he placed a hand upon the normal katana at his waist, his left hand as it was on his left hip. “You had best be prepared, Kahimi. I doubt that was enough to end them.”

So the distancing as far as I can tell. 115 meters is the center point of the pack, they are spread in a 50 meter radius. 75 meter Particle Storm places the edge of it 35 meters from the front of the wagon. Sekitan, Shinz, Emi, Lady, and whoever else was beside the wagon should be about 40 meters from the storm. Sekitan is five meters from Shinz, Shinz is five meters from the wagon. Kahimi was 5 meters ahead of Sekitan so she is 35 meters from the storm and 10 meters from the wagon. Isamu is 35 meters from the storm on the left flank. Therakill is inside the storm by about 25 meters or so. Shiki is 15 meters outside of the storm. Jormungandr and Loki's Dog are somewhere in the storm. Shango is a bird. Cadoc is hiding behind some barrels inside the wagon.

Sabo’s vision was very blurry, he seemed to be brought up by someone, back on his feet he was and when he had regained his sight he was all by himself at the north gate. The wagon that was being moved by the super mutant hound had already gone several meters ahead. He wondered if he sat here and did nothing would he still get paid, he quickly shook his head, he had to impress Zara, praying that she was around the wagon, he flipped onto his hands and was in a handstand motion, he would begin to walk through his hands all the way back to the group, this was his punishment for being so easily killed. Little time had passed and he had covered a few meters, he heard the sound of thunder from many meters away. 'Has a fight broken out already?' he wondered as he continued his journey back to his comrades.

He had covered at least half of the distance so he would flip back into his two legs and then take a look, (Assuming) he would be able to see his comrades and the wagon faintly, but not the worgs many more meters ahead. [Observation 245] After his check in, he would continue his little walk back to the wagon.

And the battle begins

he walk hadn't been especially long when the guide of the group claimed that there were a group of worgs up ahead. Despite that he couldn't see anything from his position, he didn't mistrust the information given. But to hear that the tree had a similar, yet far stronger effect on living creatures like the saddilia both intrigued and worried him. With chakra in opponents came unpredictability, especially when it was from wild sources. So the fact that they would fight buffed up version of normally strong wolves didn't sound all to fun before going into the unknown zone that was the tree.

A crutch suggests something is broken. That is not the case Zuruel, you merely need assistance adjusting your focus.

A smirk was then seen on the corner of his mouth.

With them heading straight ahead, it's probably better if we act as a back up and protect their flank.

Emi wasn't very eager to push himself before they had headed in the tree, but he knew that they needed to keep everyones resources at an even level to increase their chances in the future. To see what happened in the distance and to estimate the threat they had coming up, Emi opened up his inner eye and looked in the direction of the tree. He could see far beyond where the worgs were, but it would take a few seconds for him to get any useful information out of them.

Please choose the spot you aim for carefully now when others might get hurt.

Emi then covered his eyes as protection from the powerful lightning technique, which proved two things to him. One, they wouldn't need to be nothing more than supportive fighters and two, the white wolf was probably as strong as they rumors claimed. The Hoshigaki then made sure to remain at Zuruels side as he awaited the effect from the initial assault.

Juniper and Clone clung to Kimi and Sekitan respectively, close enough it seems to have heard the meandering of conversation and finding all of it a random jumble of information. Who was a wolf? Which one was white? What was going on aside from-- what were shadow worgs? Kahimi's general unresponsiveness was met with mild concern as Clone Juniper began to simply convey what she figured was sensitive information.

For the time being it was time to wait once more. Should Himi need to be pulled to safety Juniper was ready with a plan. A raging storm was likely not going to stop these pups but it was a good start. She had her own tricks too just in case it got hazy.

The wagon and by extension the party as a whole continued to close the distance that separated them from their destination. The hyaenodons pace was steady and methodical affording the people aboard the wagon plenty of time to observe the area in preparation for an ambush, which was exactly what Yoko had been doing; all be it with her field of vision limited to the direction they were travelling in on account of the cloth that was wrapped around the sides of the wagon. Still, it was nice to see that at least somebody else had been maintaining a diligent watch with Loki announcing the presence of the creatures for all to hear.

For the time being at least, she felt no reason to attack these hysterical creatures, if anything they were the ones trespassing in their home. Furthermore, there was the possibility that their target had positioned a scout in the nearby area, they were after all closing getting quite close to the tree. Indeed, it made sense that there could be someone in the surrounding area keeping guard whilst the cultists went about their works? Still, she reckoned that she was not so different from the aforementioned scout, for she too sought to observe the actions that the rest of the party members would take, how would things unfold? From her prior experience with the group, it seemed probable that all manner of secrets were going to be divulged.

Indeed, it didn't seem to take all that long for the other party members to spring into action, darting off to perform all manner of impressive feats. With her interest peeked she keenly observed the proceedings, noting the teleportation technique and the accompanying flash of lightning. Clearly, her fellow adventurers did not share her caring demeanour, nobody wanted to talk to these creatures only beat them into submission? Even so, the manner in which Shiki, in particular, had engaged the worgs could make their progression through the area rather troublesome, obscuring their vision and likely damaging the creatures that pulled the wagon had they elected to pass through it.

Instead, she elected to continue her observation unabated by the initial flash on account of her goggles, noting where possible the use of techniques, and the users' proficiency with them. Whilst doing so she mentally communicated with Loki, “do you have a technique that would allow us to advance through the mist” whilst awaiting the reply the wagon began to slow its advance before coming to a stop so as to allow a good distance between themselves and the mist. Her companions continuing to use their uncanny senses of smell to detect the approach of any worgs as best they could.

As a number of enemies so vast it would be foolish to engage them all appeared, an old man engaged them all. As the creatures were so hidden that only those with unnatural senses would be able to detect them, having their exact number and a vague reference to their location, while helpful, would not assist any of the wagon borne company in dealing with the threats. As no one was working together, or discussing tactics, or consulting with the most inexperienced ninja present - the one then logically designated as their leader - people and somewhat people and not really people at all began firing off techniques which Shango had been taught to quietly collate so as to increase Kirigakure military intelligence. As it would be impossible for her to even know the distance or position of these worgs in the aftermath of noncooperatively amalgamated techniques from multiple sources, it was equally impossible for her to meaningfully engage with them.

She was essentially forced by circumstance to...continue riding the wagon. She preened. She shat over the wagon's edge once more, remembering the troll-chilli she'd had for breakfast.
