Shiki's ears perked ever so slightly as she insinuated he went missing. "Simple. I walked into the kage tower and I told the Kage I was no longer going to do any work for the village. I told her I was leaving never to return. She had two choices. Let me walk or try and stop me. She actually rewarded me with an 'honorary' rank of Jonin before I left." Shiki said with an obvious distaste creeping into his mouth. The rank was something of a sore spot for him. He had both his Chuunin and Jounin ranks delayed for years and months because of the poor leadership at his village. "I've realized my talents were being under utilized and my Kage would rather seek to actively slow down my progress then encourage my success." Shiki said calming down a bit more. 

"Whether I am actually free to go unmolested by my former village or not I'm not sure. This might simply have been a way to appease me until they train up enough to take me on." Shiki mused. Shiki smiled faintly. "Regardless. I am forgoing ninja villages for a short while so I can focus on my personal pursuits."

Shiki's story was quite interesting. Taliyah had never taken Kumo to be a village to not know how handle power. In all honesty, she never took any of the major countries to not know to handle their power. However, she knew the feeling of freedom in search of her own pursuit. She smiled as Shiki told her story and actually played it out. She knew that she would want to be the same one day.

"That's commendable of you. To go after your dream like that. It's also nice to have the ability to do what you want to do aswell." Suddenly a knock on the door and a brown haired woman with a lab coat appeared in the door with a cheerful smile. "Hello Amekage-sama." She said with a bright smile. She looked over to Shiki and recognized him right away. "Ahh Shiki Senri of the Hidden Cloud. It's finally nice to put a face to all the stories. I'm Agano Nomi, the head librarian of Amekage. It's a pleasure to meet you" Agano would say as she walked over to Taliyah and hand her the village scrolls. She would then leave the room once again leaving Shiki and Taliyah alone.

"Now Mr. Senri I have a couple of conditions I would like you to agree to before I left you have a look. One, you may only take what you need. If you wish to document what you need then I must approve of the contents of the documentation. Two, you hold this in high respect and high regards. Too be honest, your armor isn't what sold me on this deal, thought its a nice touch, but who you are as a person. You would make a strong ally to Ame one day and I would like to consider this as a token of respect to you. I can't say I understand what it means to be held back in terms of power but I can understand why it would be frustrating. I hope you can take this as a sign of good faith from my village to you and your endeavors.

Taliyah would hold the scroll out to him as she spoke her last condition "Three, you treat it as a precious gem that you will be selfish with and only give those to who you deem worthy. I deem you worthy, therefore I give it to you. I hope you hold other people in the same regard before teaching it to someone else. So do you agree to my conditions? Taliyah would ask, holding the scroll only inches away from him.

Shiki focused more of the conversation looking at the Kage and not the scrolls. Shiki reached into his bag and pulled out a small plain gold coin. On it was the depiction of a direwolf. Shiki took his finger and pressed it against the coin as a series of sparks would shoot across the coin. As he pulled his finger away his finger print was engraved on the flat side of the coin. "I am not one to forget how I am treated, both in kindnesses and when I am slighted. I will accept and honor your terms and from this moment forwards your village and your ninja will find a friend in me." Shiki said as he set the coin down on the table and slid it towards her. "With this token I will owe you one favor no matter the size or scope." Shiki said as he reached out and pulled out his scroll containing more instant item summons. He rolled the scroll out and summoned forwards the rest of the set of armor.

Taliyah would receive the coin and watch as the full armor set was placed infront of her. She looked at it and admired it and it's beauty and pristine. Satisfied with what she was seeing and from the word that Shiki had given her, she would itch forward the scroll to him and watched him carefully as he would sift through it.

Description: A more advanced version of the Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu, the user gathers enough water to create up to five water clones. They act like normal water clones with one exception - there is a “limited pocket of Chakra” within them that, after being struck and start to break apart, releases and reconstitutes the Bunshin, making it seem as though the clone “broke into rain droplets, fell and remade itself.” As a D-Rank ninja, each clone has a one “reconstitution” pocket, C-Rank has two, B-Rank has three, A-Rank has four, S-Rank has five. The name “Rainfall” was given because when they are struck they break into rain drops falling from where they were.

Effect: Uses one “Reconstitution” pocket in a Kouu Bunshin to explode with great force based on strength of Ninja.
Special: Must hold the Dragon Hand Seal for a short period of time.
Drawback: Can only be done on one clone at a time, and only once every three posts.
Description: The “reconstituion” pocket of a Kouu Bunshin is full of Chakra, normally depleted by being reconstituted. However, by holding the Dragon Hand Seal and focusing on one clone, the pocket can be made to explode with some force, acting like a depth charge within the Kouu Clone. A D-Rank Ninja using this causes D-Rank damage, a C-Rank causing C-Rank Damage and so forth. The explosion uses ALL "reconstitution" pockets in the clone, completely destroying it with no chance of being reconstituted.

Drawback: Drains one Chakra Pocket.
Description: The Kouu Bunshins are all linked to the creator, which allows for the user to know what they know whenever they collapse and reform. However, this technique takes that link one step further, by allowing the user to use the clones like objects are used in Kawarimi no Jutsu without needing to touch the clone. The user releases Chakra right after forming the Snake Hand Seal, sending it straight to the target clone - the clone then releases one of its Chakra pockets at the same time, causing a brief flash of blue chakra to emit from every clone and the user. The clone and user then switch places.
Limit: Must be a C Rank Ninja, Must have Kouu Bunshin no Jutsu.

This chakra infused mist is controlled by the user, the user causing it to seek out nearby targets and attempt to restrain and asphyxiate them by clinging to their bodies, wrapping around their necks and forcing its way into their lungs to essentially strangle them. This move lasts for 3 posts and any mist introduced after its casting is also affected by it. Yuurei Kagaisha only has a distance of three-hundred meters or so, making it quite possible to escape should you be on the outskirts of the mist. This jutsu does not discriminate between friend or foe.

Drawback: The user can no longer use Water techniques until they are within a new thread.
Description: A technique that can only be classed as a village destroyer. The sky is filled with pitch black clouds from horizon to horizon, blocking out the sun and any other lights in the sky, plunging the affected area of a mile into darkness. Thunder roars high above and red lighting streaks between clouds in a chaotic webwork. Then it begins to rain, harder than any tempest imaginable, as if the sky were trying to drown the earth. However, this water is no ordinary water, enemies under this technique will believe it is a very heavy rain, and for the first post of this jutsu it will be just a very heavy rain. It changes later, however.

Starting on the user's next post, the rain suddenly becomes razor sharp, the user's chakra used to accomplish this effect. The droplets lengthen, turning into razor-sharp needles that slice through flesh as if it were not even there, even slicing through stone and even damaging metal should they be given enough time to do so (Two posts after the rain changes). A smart enemy will seek a way to save themselves from the rain, leaving the area before they are torn to shreds, placing quite a bit of strain on the user. The technique lasts for four posts. This jutsu does not discriminate between friend or foe.
Limit: Must be a Rain Ninja. Requires that one learns Ochiru Ame no Jutsu (Falling Rain Technique) and Uchikomi Kouu first.

Shiki nodded and looked over the scrolls and snapped a few pictures. He smiled as he stored the information away for later. There was only so much of the documents that he actually needed. But to be respectful he made sure to only take the pictures of the information that needed to be shared with him. "Thank you." he replied kindly. "If there is nothing more you need from me I'd like to be on my way." The ninja said softly.

Taliyah shook her head before taking the scroll back. She clapped and 2 AnBu opened the door. One of them walked over to the armor and began to pick it all up. The other AnBu kept the door open for them. "That is all Mr.Senri. Thank you for your good will and I hope to see of you again at another time. As well... if you ever feel up for being part a shinboi village again... Lightning crackles especially loud in the Rain" Taliyah would add the last part with a warm smile.

taliyah watched as the man left. She couldn't tell the future but she had a feeling that their paths would cross multiple times again. She wouldn't be too worried about it either. She flipped the coin around in her hand, understanding the weight of it and the gravity it serves. She would remember this day very greatly. Suddenly Yoriko burst into the room and walked over to Taliyah. He was cute. Definitely want to take a bite out of him Yoriko said with a smile that made Taliyah's eyes roll/ "Do you need something Yoriko?" Taliyah would ask. Yoriko would hand Taliyah a scroll that was messaged to written to the Amekage. She would carefully read it and give it a sigh. The life of a politician never ended unfortunately.

A Giant messenger beetle, having hitched a ride to Ame no Kuni in a Merchant's cart to rest its wings on the way, tapped impatiently at a window.

Once allowed inside, it would offer up a leg with a roll of paper around it. It was of course, a message from Takigakure. It read only -

Apologies for the silence of this office. A new Takikage has taken reign. If you want to have a meeting of the minds to further our alliance and strengthen our bonds, he invites to have correspondence so such a meeting could take place.

s Emi crossed the lands of his home, he was able to notice that there were a lot of people headed in the direction of the capital city. So he wrapped his cloak closer around himself and his hands covered in his clawed gauntlets gently stroked the pockets with his various miscellenous items. The scene had him a little curious as he hadn't seen so many gather up for some time, but after asking a few of them he just learned that there were some kind of festival there in the coming days. As that was way more excitement than he had for a while, he followed one of the smaller groups for a while until he saw the embassy where the assistant came over and talked to him. Since he had been acting as the counselor of the kage, he was asked to come in and aid them to take care of some diplomatic situations.

Emi sighed, he knew that the kage had been missing from her official duties for more than half a year, making all of her tasks to stack up. So he had to accept that he needed to cover for her. The boy then said goodbye to the groups heading to the festival and headed into the embassy. There were queues leading into almost all of the rooms in the main level and the assistants were clearly stressed. After another sigh Emi walked up to a desk and asked which meeting was the most crucial one, which he then immediately headed towards. The meeting took a little over an hour, but then the stream had only begun and he was unable to leave the room even for food or any toiletbreak.

Victoria had not been in the Land of Rain long. She had just traveled here, thanks to the help of her seeming leader Shiki in the Sand Village. He told her how useful his "special network" could be, and now she understood. Still wearing the same appearance that she had worn during her meeting with the man leading her village. Her blonde hair tumbled down beyond her shoulders and her eyes shone a golden hue, with black lines tracing throughout the sides of her pupils. She wore a white dress with blue lacing around the edges, sporting no armor or anything of that nature. Victoria did not feel that she needed such things, especially on a mission such as this. Black gloves covered her hands, but not the underside of her palms or fingers. A buttbag was strapped to her right buttcheek underneath her dress which held 100 senbon, a spring razor, a kunai, and an LED flashlight. A polearm was also strapped to her back, shimmering red due to the gleam of water from the rain outside.

Shiki had told her that in the Land of Rain there was a man, a Hoshigaki, who was well-known as a weaponsmith. Victoria had been given the task of finding him and requesting that he meet Shiki in the Sand Village. Victoria had come here through a portal and spent some time among the Land of Rain, using her knowledge of the history of the place to determine that she might have some luck at the Amegakure embassy in the city capital. After traveling for a short time, Victoria had been able to come upon the embassy that she had heard about. The building appeared to be two separate ones, connected by a walkway. As she walked through the front doors, Victoria would get a sudden whiff of finely crafted beer and know that she must be in the right place. As she entered the lobby, Victoria would go up to whoever was standing at the front desk and say, "Hello there. My name is Victoria." Her Sand Village headband dangled gracefully around her neck. "I've traveled all the way from the Land of Wind in order to ask of you some information."

Her body and clothes were covered in the rain, and Victoria didn't hope that they would dry soon. It captured her body well, and she hoped that it would increase her chances if she needed to manipulate another person. "The Sand Village has requested that I seek information on an individual. I don't know their name, but it is a Hoshigaki famous for their craftsmanship who is said to live in this country. Would you happen to know such an individual?" She didn't know exactly why she needed to seek out this person, but knew that Shiki thought it was necessary. If he thought it had to be done, then Victoria knew that she must complete the task. A man as strong as he must have some plan. Victoria waited to see what sort of response she would get and how these people would take to an outsider. So far she didn't get any bad feelings and hoped that wouldn't change.

The late meeting

he sun had both gone up and down on the nation while he had been sitting by the same table, meeting with all kinds of requests to instill a sense of peace and comfort for the commoners and travelers. As the queue had become almost non-existent from his strenuous shift Emi told one of the assistants that walked by that he did no longer want to get disturbed as he needed some rest. So he leaned his head towards the table and quite quickly began to drift away into the dark universal that was sleep.

The main entrance had gotten a lot calmer when Victoria entered the building and the desk clerk had gone away to get some deserved rest. So the one looking up as Victoria approached the main desk was a young girl which looked a little nervous of the situation. She looked over her shoulder to see if her manager was anywhere close before she turned back to Victoria and smiled at her.

Welcome to the embassy, Victoria

When the visitor continued and began to ask for information about a crafter in the nation, the young girls smile became hesitant and she once again looked over her shoulder, hoping to see someone coming back from their break.

Just.. a minute

She took up a bunch of small memory notes and used them to guide herself to one of the bookshelves behind the desk. After checking some binders like she was just jumping through the pages randomly, she bit her upper lip. Lucky for her though, one of the main clerks suddenly walked out from the lunch room with a cigarette in her mouth.

Was the only thing she said as she dashed over to the main clerk and began to whisper to her. It was just a short exchange of information before the main clerk pointed past the intern down a hall and then visibly sighed. The young girl then thanked the wiser lady and ran back to the desk at where Victoria was waiting.

I'm ... sorry it took some time, but it seems like we do have a Hoshigaki in here that fits that description, the jounin Hoshigaki Emi. I can show you to him if you'd like.

The girl would then take Victoria down to Emi's door if the woman accepted the offer. Hesitantly she then knocked thrice before slowly opening up the door.

What? I told you I'd like to take a few minutes off.

The Hoshigaki grunted out as he woke up from the knocks. His head was pounding from the lack of both sleep and food, making him feel forced to start massaging his temples. The young girl immediately froze as she heard the annoyed tone from Emi and instantly whispered very quietly to Victoria.

Careful, he's known as the executioner of the crimson rain.

The intern then immediately ran off, scared of what could happen both if she was too close to the meeting, but also what the main clerk would say if she didn't return to her job soon enough.

Victoria became a little nervous when the young girl said that she would need to wait here and went off running to talk to her superior. It didn't make her feel good to stand on the sidelines as those plotted around her, but she took some deep breathes and controlled her anxiety. It was nothing, just a figment of her imagination. She played with her dress as the woman gathered her information, and then came back saying that there was indeed a jonin by this name. Victoria was surprised. She had not been told that it was a jonin, and she had suspected that mission wouldn't that fun -- perhaps just a lowly merchant in the Land of Rain. Now she knew better.

"Ah yes, that sounds about right," Victoria would say to the young girl in response, "And yes please lead me to Mr. Hoshigaki -- I've got business that will be of the utmost importance to him." As the girl was leading her down the hall and toward his room, Victoria would be preparing herself for this conversation. She wasn't itching to fight, whatsoever, but Victoria nor Valerys were the most... combat oriented individuals. No. Each of them were skilled in this sort of art. In being a messenger, per se. Victoria allowed the taijutsu of her Kedoin bloodlimit to alter her body in such a way that it would be difficult to determine her personality and if she was lying. Both were often necessary skills in her repetoire.

Victoria also tried to remember if she had heard about Emi Hoshigaki or any of the surrounding areas very well in her research into the Land of Rain, hoping that there was some piece of useful knowledge about the area that she could use to display her knowledge to Emi. Any knowledge could be helpful under the right context. As they came to the door and the girl knocked, a voice would say roughly, "What? I told you I'd like to take a few minutes off." And the girl told her to be careful. He was the executioner of the crimson rain. Truly an interesting title. Victoria longed to know more.

Watching the girl run off, Victoria would open the door and let herself in. She would try to appear unintimidating, with the white dress covering her body and a smile on her face, as she entered. She would look at Emi Hoshigaki, if he was really there (always suspicious that she had been brought to a room filled with booby traps), and say, "Hello. Would you happen to be Mr. Hoshigaki? I didn't mean to interrupt. I've been searching for you for a long time. Don't let me distract you if you're busy, however." Victoria's usual charm was bleeding through and somewhere, on another level, Valerys was in her mind giggling maniacally with bloodlust.

Effect: Lie detecting skills and abilities do not work well on the user.
Special: ---
Drawback: Complex movements and techniques, usually of the "A-ranked" and "S-ranked" nature will break the concentration needed for this technique. Movement enhancement techniques (IE: Chakra gates) will cause this technique to end.
Description: This technique is often used to control the body in such a manner, as to deceive others attempting to peer into the body or read some kind of bodily function from the user for the purposes of lie detecting. If the heart rate, temperature, smooth muscle movement and breathing are being read to detect lying, the user can fool on lookers by maintaining consistencies within these automatic body functions. Rather than sweating, breathing heavily or having your heart race, the user can maintain a normal base line within all body functions, which fools on lookers. Control over these autonomic functions can be overridden by the user's cellular control nature. With this, the user may appear as if they are telling the truth, with no inclination of lying. If die rolls are used, the opponent automatically lose 50% on all die rolls. If a ranking system is used, then the user is considered a user one rank above their opponents. Drawback: Same drawbacks as "Body Of lies". Only hides outward presentation. Literally mind reading, or physical contact that produces the same end results as mind reading cannot be deceived.
Description: The deceptive qualities of the Kedōin are so powerful, it even influences how the mind and body functions in terms of outward emotional presentation. Common reflexive manners, the physical appearance of emotions (such as fist clenching in anger, or relaxed shoulders in elation), and even how the neurons fire during certain emotional states can be overridden by the user's cellular manipulation abilities. "Micro expression", the involuntary facial expression shown on the face of humans according to emotions experienced can even be controlled by a conscious Kedōin, which are often the expressions pick up by animals. Animals and users with the abilities to read these emotional states will view the user as the way the Kedōin desire. For example, a evil killing intent and anger can be hidden behind a smile, which can normally be sensed by animals. The user's alignment is hidden as well, matching the current presentation they desire. When a murderous Kedōin is trying to portray a chivalrous hero, it is very difficult to tell the user is putting on an act. It takes 1 post to alter and maintain consistent body functions.

Dinner time

he room in which Victoria had just been able to look into there were a common wooden floor, completely naked from any rug or deformities. The walls kept themselves in the same manner as the rest of the embassy and closed the vicinity of the room to the dimensions of 7 x 5 meters. A double window was the only thing that could be considered to be decorative in the room, and even the light was dull. The young, yet adult Hoshigaki sat behind a table that appeared to be a temporary solution on a chair that was equally easy. His eyes were darkened by short sleep during a too long period of time while he otherwise had a good appearance and clothes. The natural connection he had with sharks blend in smoothly with his human appearance and despite the darkened room, his demeanor didn't appear hostile.

When the door finally opened, Emi raised his gaze to see whoever was disturbing his sleep with noise. It wasn't any of the persons he had expected, as he had thought the people working in the embassy had tried to contact him. As he saw the protector visibly on her forehead, he knew that her journey had been long and that he would need to take some extra time and care about the meeting. So he discretely rubbed his forehead briefly with his right hand before he stood up from his chair and gave her a tired smile.

Greetings miss, Emi will do just fine and despite what it looked like, I am glad to have such a long distant traveler here.

He slowly pushed in the chair in under the table while he took a deep breath in an attempt to clear his head.

As you don't seem to be in a rush and have been traveling far, I assume you have several details that needs to be discussed. Mind if we take that over a bite? I haven't eaten in days.

It was a little over-exaggerated as it was merely 36 hours since his last meal, but his body felt weakened and his stomach had him unfocused. So if accepted he'd take her over to one of the tables in the lobby and order the meal of the day. While they waited, he looked Victoria in her eyes and asked her quietly, as if it could be a secret they'd discuss.

So, what business are we here to adress?

Information that might've popped up in the books for local knowledge:

Emi has been the bodyguard of 7 kages since the age of 8

Became chunin at the age of 12 and jounin at 19

(Might be accused of using kages as puppets due to their short reign, little experience while Emi always has been everywhere they has made decisions and even promoted and was the counselor of the current kage)

The room that Victoria walked into did not look even close to being as decorative as the one that Shiki hosted at the Kazekage Tower, but she supposed that this was just an embassy afterall. The man who sat in the center of this room had dark bags under his eyes and almost purple hair. The man clearly looked stress and as if he had not gotten enough sleep. Victoria maintained her abilities in case he had any sensor abilities, but it didn't look like he was up for sensing anybody at the moment. Victoria listened to Emi speak and knew that this had to be a righteous man. He seemed awfully kind to a stranger. She was glad that her alignment was not detectable like before, and maintained her bright smile. "Pleased to meet you then, Emi," Victoria beamed. The man a strange look about it, like all Hoshigakis, and Victoria wondered what sort of unnatural abilities he possessed -- although she knew it impolite to ask.

"My name is Victoria Yamanaka from the Hidden Sand Village. And I'm glad that my visit has been so well-recieved. You are clearly a man of honor. Food doesn't sound bad at all, please lead the way." Emi would show her to some tables in the lobby where the food of the day was being prepared. While they waited, Emi would get down to business. Victoria was pleased. She respected direct people.

Victoria smiled at Emi and said, "Business of the sort that concerns the Sand Village enough to send me here to find you, and to be sent a message from the Kazekage's Tower itself -- as it lives and breathes among the sands of our desert landscape. I beg of you, Emi, keep in mind I am just a scout. So no need to kill the messenger, although I think you'll be very pleased with what I have to say." Victoria would pause to let Emi have time to take it in. Although she could appreciate directness, she also liked to take her time with foreplay. "You have known what it is like to work with kages and village leaders. I have come on behalf of one of them now, but from a land different than your own. The assistant to the Kazekage, who now leads the village in her absence, has requested that you come to visit him in the Sand Village. If you so choose."

Victoria would let the statement linger in the air. She didn't want to say too much about everything but give Emi time to ask his own questions. She found it pleasing to be sitting and eating food with such a powerful ally, if indeed that is what he was (who knew? she was just a scout), and had discovered that having powerful friends could get you all sorts of free food. Victoria would take her polearm off her back and place underneath the table -- a display of good faith (or rather not caring, it was her body that was the weapon).

The mission revealed

he awaited meal took surprisingly short time to receive as the entire staff was back on work, while the embassy had cleared out almost completely. Emi couldn't help but get a little distracted as the plate was presented to him, a large chunk of medium rare meat with a pike of fries and a thick brown gravy covering its surface. The Hoshigaki could feel how his mouth was moistening up in anticipation to quickly devour the plate. But as he had company he made sure to restrain himself and only took small pieces to satisfy his growling hunger. While he listened to what Victoria had to tell him, he nodded to display that he was following the context until he knew she was finished with the briefing and it was his time to reply.

It seems like my reputation is spreading faster than I have realized. I've had to take care of dozens of requests here in the absence of our kage, and now someone in a similar situation needs to meet up. But before we can discuss the coming future, I would like to know a little more about what is known about Amira. My meeting with her was brief a few years ago, but her sweet demeanor charmed all she met.

His concern was real, even though he was fairly intrigued about the general situation of the land of wind. If Victoria showed any sign of answering his interest, Emi would stop eating his meal while listening, to be able to take in all of the information gained. When he saw that the woman had placed her polearm in a non-threatening way under the table, he got a little curious on why such a weapon had been brought on a diplomatic meeting, even though he liked her choice of specialty.

The man was not willing to say whether or not he would join her to the Sand Village yet, but was concerned about the well being of Amire who Victoria knew through discussion, but never personal contact, was the Kazekage. It was a surprise to her that this Emi Hoshigaki would know of the Kazekage and have such a deep connection with her. He truly had a powerful reputation, and now even Shiki wanted to see him. Valerys wondered at how famous Emi seemed to be, and took it as a sign that she should definitely make allies with this man -- even if it was only to advance herself. "I'm sad to say that the Kazekage is not well. She has been stricken with some disease and currently Shiki leads the village. He is a brave man and I'm sure that he is doing everything he can to find a cure for our Lady Kazekage."

Victoria didn't know if this was true or not. She imagined that it probably was. After she revealed this information Victoria would eat at her food, a large hunk of meat and fries. She loved it. The meat was rare enough so that she could savor every piece, but did not let her body show her love for it. She was glad to be dining with Emi and wanted to show him respect. One couldn't be certain why Shiki needed to see this man, but she anticipated that she would be seeing him a lot more often. And besides, if he did agree to come back with her then she would be his body guard. How tantalizing...

"Now that I'm answered one of your questions, Emi, answer one of my own personal questions? How does a man like you end up here in the Land of Rain? You clearly work so hard for it. Tell me about yourself." She wanted to seem pleasing, but was also genuinely curious about Emi. He had such a history and notority that she wanted to know what it was that had attracted such powerful men and women to him. Perhaps she could find something among the knowledge that would enhance her own life. She kept eating at the food while she waited for Emi to answer and perhaps ask more questions. She was not in a rush to get along, she had only just arrived her in the Land of Rain and wanted to take her time. Although, so much water made her nostalgic for the desert sun.

mi had almost eaten up the entire plate when he noticed that there were basically only a pile of salad left on the plate. He squinted and slid the plate to the left, he was almost full anyways. But it allowed him to focus more on the actual conversation he was having. It didn't sound very good that the kage had become ill, despite that it was one most reasonable cause of not being in control that he had heard about.

Do we know what kind of illness she's affected by?

Even though he hadn't had that much of medical expertise, he had heard about a few of them and had been able to make himself a good approximate idea of how deadly they were. If the chances were low for her to make it, he knew that he would need to go there eventually and meet the assistant anyways. Emi scratched himself behind his right ear using his claws on the same hand while thinking about the possible futures for both of their nations. During his thought process Victoria suddenly gave him a highly personal question. Due to the fairly relaxed behavior during their meeting, he wasn't very surprised, but it made him slightly uncomfortable as he rarely talked about himself even to those close to him. But he felt like he owed her at least a reply.

I grew up with my cousin in this land, and when he was gone I found another mentor that brought me into the village. After that I have only seen the nation suffer from corruption, destruction and panic, and the idea of leaving them to their fate hasn't felt right.

Despite that he was good at hiding his emotions and had shared the same story with a few others, Emi displayed his concern with a dampened smile before he changed the topic back to Victoria's mission.

The situation in Amegakure has currently been calmed down, which makes this an excellent timing to make a first meeting with the current leader of sand. We need to restate the terms of the alliance after all. I would however need a half hour to discuss things over with the staff here before we leave.

Emi had shifted the pace of the meeting both because he wanted avoid further personal questions, but also to make sure he could relax sooner, he was still physically tired from the lack of sleep. But he didn't make any moves to force Victoria to move just yet, he wanted her to feel welcomed enough to finish her meal and still not feel pushed down by an authority, he didn't need more assistants, he wanted friends.
